Fantastic ship, crew, and itinerary

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Poesia

I chose this cruise for the itinerary and it did not disappoint! I have sailed with MSC before and enjoy the cruise line. The Poesia was a beautiful ship. The food was fantastic as was the service. We embarked in Genoa, Italy and spent the night before our cruise at the Grand Sevoy hotel. Wonderful place to stay pre-cruise, the staff is fabulous, the location is great, and the rooms were ...

European cruise

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Poesia

We chose this ship and iternary because of our grandkids spring vacation taking place the first week of April and our desire to expose the three girls, ages 17, 15 and 10 to Europe and Italy. We also like the fact that it went to four different countries and three of our favorite ports, Rome, Venice and Corfu. We found the food to be very average, the service average and the ship had some good ...

Terrible trip

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Poesia

2-5 Cruises • Age 40s

That was our 3rd cruise with MSC. We experienced Fantasia and Opera prior to this one and I must say this one was the worst one of them all. Where do I begin. Entertainment was 0 to nothing, shows were awful, daytime there was nothing to do, we had one 12 year old that was bored out of his mind. Ricardo that was supposed to be the person to lead the Young club was never there during the day and ...

GREAT Itinerary- HORRIBLE ship experience

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Poesia

First Time Cruiser • Age 50s

We have been on 7 cruises, and I knew going into this that MSC was a risk. It is a European line and there was a possibility that the European experience would not be for us. But I'd like to say to start that there were very few things that we considered "unacceptable" that had anything to do with cultural differences. I'll start with the good news: The Poesia is beautiful. It is easy to find ...

MSC has changed for the worse

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Poesia

Poesia Xmas 2008 Embarkation in Genoa was the usual organized chaos we have come to expect from MSC. Our scheduled sailing time was 16.00, so we arrived at 15.00, having checked in on-line. With MSC Club priority boarding we expected to waltz straight on board. Hope springs eternal! In fact we got our cruise cards right away, but were then given a boarding number and asked to go into a waiting ...

MSC Poesia Christmas 2008

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Poesia

Firstly the positives about the Christmas cruise on the Poesia: We sailed through some very heavy sea's with little, if any, discomfort for the passengers. The ship is a credit to modern cruise ship design. The cabins and the staff servicing them were very good. The public area's were tastefully decorated and kept very clean. The negatives would have to be: Slow embarkation. The ...

Pricey Christmas Spirit on MSC

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Poesia

First Time Cruiser • Age 60s

We boarded MSC's Poesia with an open mind. I have read many poor reviews, but we paid a very reasonable price for an 11 night Christmas family cruise, and you shouldn't expect to get champagne if you pay only for sparking wine! The ship is quite superb! It is among the best I have ever sailed on, public rooms were attractive and in very good taste, and kept immaculate. Cabins were kept ...

I have to admit this cruise was chosen based on itinerary, itinerary and itinerary. In fact there are very few cruise lines that would have turned me off based on a ship when looking at such a port intensive schedule of Katakolon-Olympia, Pireaus-Athens, Rhodes, Cyprus, Alexandria, Crete, Marmaris and Naples. In any event, I was prepared for things to be different after reading so many ...
