My husband and I embarked on this cruise, despite a radically changed itinerary, because MSC refused our request for a refund. However, our experience was so awful that we disembarked on day 20 of 85 in Walvis Bay, Namibia, and flew home from there. Better to forfeit the unused cruise fare than to continue to subject ourselves to the cruise line’s utter disdain for passengers and 65 more days of ...
Pros are supposed to go before cons, so I will put the positives first, but please don’t miss the negatives later in this review, because although there were a few redeeming qualities, make no mistake, I would never sail with MSC again.
First positive, all the staff below the managerial level deserve to be commended for being true, if not powerless, delights. We had many wonderful interactions ...
If I could give no stars I would. I joined a world cruise with MSC and have had nothing but frustration and grievances. If you are a parent I highly suggest considering another cruise line. A child was assaulted by an adult passenger and when the parents filed a complaint after bringing him to the medical center, nothing was done but a warning. The baby pool on the cruise was under maintenance ...
Currently on MSC Poesia world cruise. MSC Customer service has been appalling…. No response to written correspondence sent to UK MD prior to embarkation (due to multiple itinerary route changes - some of which were due to the Red Sea conflict, others due to yellow fever, others due to, well who knows!!) as final itinerary changes were made just 48hrs before embarkation and no option to cancel. ...
Embarkation:
As this was a repositioning cruise, passengers embarked at multiple locations during the cruise: Marseille, Genoa, Valencia and possibly other ports.
We embarked at Genoa and, in part due to not being a full ship changeover, it was a quick process.
Ship:
MSC Poesia was a nice ship. Built in 2008, it does not have a Yacht Club section. Two main Dining Rooms and one ...
I chose this cruise for the itinerary and it did not disappoint! I have sailed with MSC before and enjoy the cruise line. The Poesia was a beautiful ship. The food was fantastic as was the service. We embarked in Genoa, Italy and spent the night before our cruise at the Grand Sevoy hotel. Wonderful place to stay pre-cruise, the staff is fabulous, the location is great, and the rooms were ...
We chose this ship and iternary because of our grandkids spring vacation taking place the first week of April and our desire to expose the three girls, ages 17, 15 and 10 to Europe and Italy. We also like the fact that it went to four different countries and three of our favorite ports, Rome, Venice and Corfu. We found the food to be very average, the service average and the ship had some good ...
The cabin, waiters and bar staff are excellent...............they do their utmost to make you happy. However after experiencing the food in both the formal and buffet restaurants with unappealing food and complaining to both reception and officers of the ship not one of the management acknolowged or responded to our complaints..........in other words your complaints fall on deaf ears.!!!!!!!

This was our families first cruise and we had a wonderful time. The best thing about the cruise was the friendly staff and great service. I really could not fault them. The rooms, we had a balcony and the kids had a room without a view. The rooms were much better than I thought. Also better than I thought was the food. It was great. The big disappointment was the ports visited. We did not have ...
