My wife had been on a near identical cruise with the ship back in May with her friend only this time it went to Ibiza and not Tunis. We got a 5% discount on the booking as she had joined the MSC Club. The ship was very clean and with the exception of a DJ the staff were very good. The food in the l'Ibuscus restaurant was very nice and great service, my wife felt it was far better than in the Villa ...

What can I say, other than what a waste and what a terrible company to holiday with. My wife and I are very experienced travellers, having travelled extensively on our own and through agencies, including a number of cruise holidays with Royal Carribean, Celebrity and Thomson. Excuse me being blunt, but MSC are by far the worst company I have dealt with in our many years of travel. 1) We choose ...

On Friday afternoon we (family of four, two kids, 7 and 5) left home to drive from Germany through Switzerland to Milan. As this was the first day of fall break in our state and as there was a lot construction, we didn't make it to Milan before midnight. Stayed at the IdeaHotel Milan San Siro, which is easily reachable from the interstate and can be recommended for a quick stop. Originally, we ...

Much Much Better Than I Expected!

Our embarkation at Livorno (which isn't available in the drop-down menu above!) was perfect. We arrived at 2 pm for a 7 pm departure and were on the ship in 10 minutes. Then a white gloved attendant took us to our upgraded cabin, 10164. Everyone we dealt with that day and every day on the ship spoke very good English and I never had a problem communicating. Our balcony cabin was lovely, ...

Hello all: My girlfriend and I did our 1st ever cruise on the MSC Orchestra from Sept 8-15. Boarded from Genoa and service was bad nealy everywhere, we are from Quebec/Canda I do speak English well but my girl friend speaks only French. We had booked transportation with MSC from airport to port dock, We arrived in Genoa at Noon after a 12 hours flight/plane switching. A girl from MSC welcomed us ...

Service good, food awful

The ship was very nice, big of course, and a bit crowded, and the stateroom I had surprisingly large with the balcony giving it an open feeling. The normal staff contacts out side of dining were good, but dining staff to me was very professional and excellent. Unfortunately the food was atrocious. Some where between bad school cafeteria and frozen diner bad. Nearly every sauce was so salty by the ...

We were encouraged to cruise by many of our cruising friends. They raved about 24 hour buffets, loaded with seafood and fresh produce. They raved about friendly and helpful staff, and idyllic days around the pool. So, that is what we expected when we booked MSC Orchestra for an 8 day mediterranean cruise in September. The first disappointment came at the embarkation, nobody had a clue. We were ...

Me & my partner made this cruise in December 08, weatherwise not the ideal time for the Western Mediterranean (ports: Genova, Barcelona, Casablanca, Madeira, Tenerife, Malaga, Civitavecchia-Rome). We enjoyed little sunshine these 11 days, but temperatures were higher than expected, typically around 17 degrees Celsius. As we had a balcony cabin, we thoroughly enjoyed sitting outdoors into the ...

After entering through one of the more efficient boarding processes into the beautiful atrium, we were keyed up for a really fabulous cruise - our fifth. After checking out our cabin which was of the usual style and standard we were still feeling great about the experience before us. On reading the information provided we discovered there were a few issues of concern regarding the ship and cabin ...

EMBARKATION: Embarkation was fairly quick for us. If you pre-register your passport information online and have your printout available at check-in, you will be able to go to the express check-in line. The earlier that you get to the port, the earlier you get on board. MSC issues numbered tickets once you have gone to the terminal registration counter where you provide your credit card and ...
