Not conducive to cruising

Review for a South America Cruise on MSC Fantasia

The enticement? Interesting ports in Europe, Africa and South America. Our first cruise experience. We agree it might be the last one. Looking back it was frantic from the moment of embarkation in Genoa. Long line ups, hours of waiting. It's true that the ship houses over 3000 passengers, but knowing that beforehand, the process should have been smother. The cabin we had , with balcony, was ...

We traveled to and from Genoa to the Western Mediterranean. However we flew into and out of Milan as it was cheaper, with more flights, and then we took trains to match our itinerary. The price was reasonable, and the itinerary matched our needs. The itinerary is all-important to me, so we have never used the same cruise line twice. We wanted to add a day in the Cinque Terre, and this was the only ...

Embarkation: A brief summary, the most chaotic, disorganised shambles of an embarkation process we’ve ever encountered. After much queuing, observing lots of gesticulation, lots of shouting and tempers getting frayed we eventually made it on board. The Ship: The ship is very impressive from the outside and that impression continues inside. We had a balcony cabin which was spacious, very ...

12 Day Mediterranean cruise

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Fantasia

We choose this cruise due itinerary and price. I little hesitant in booking with MSC due to mostly bad reviews and decided to try anyway. My rating is based on comparable cruise lines we have been on: Carnival, Norwegian and Royal Caribbean. Ship is well kept and clean. Most passengers were Europeans with majority from France and Germany. We met people from Canada, Australia, Spain and ...

Fantasia: the Very Good and the Not So Good

Ship layout was excellent with many stylish lounges and bars with live entertainment in many. Cabin was the best we have had by a mile...Spacious and a balcony. Dining room food was good with an interesting menu every day Staff throughout the ship were very polite and helpful. We had an 'all inclusive' package in our booking which was just as well as the drinks were very expensive. (5 euros for a ...

We are what you might call experienced cruisers..cruising since 1994 with many different cruise lines. We will normally seek out a good itinerary and then worry about the cruise line or ship,so have been on both high end and low end ships. We had a weeks holiday to use and wanted a cheap cruise, a local travel agent came up with this deal they have with MSC. Attractions were British Airways ...

Dinner in Dining rooms better than Buffet. Buffet fair to poor. Cold food.

Chose this cruise because other family members had made that choice. The ports of call were great choices and we decided to join them. The best thing about this ship and cruise line is the rooms and the ship itself. The worst thing is the food in the buffet. The only thing hot is the oatmeal. Fruit good, deserts good. Eggs, bacon, pancakes, waffles, all cold. Bacon not cooked good, either too ...

First cruise and just wanted to experience it. The ship is spotless and beautiful we had a midship cabin on deck 10 with a balcony, it was to a very high standard. What let it down for us was first the dining experience, we where 2nd sitting in the red velvet changed tables 3 times but was still a shambles.very very noisy seeing food being scraped off plates is very off putting. There is way too ...

Chose cruise mainly due to the price and it being a cruise line that we haven't been with before. The biggest disappointment was the number of children on board the ship. The children were very badly behaved, loud and unruly. Lots of different nationalities on board, mainly Italian, German and Spanish. Very little British on board. We were aware that it was an Italian cruise line so did expect ...

Mediterranean Cruise, Very Mediocre

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Fantasia

I Chose to mix up my planned European vacation with a one week Mediterranean cruise along with a one week land vacation to maximize being able to visit many different locations with minimum travel in between. I was attracted to the MSC Fantasia cruise I booked since it was such a tremendous value. I booked an aft balcony cabin for only $1,000.00 per person, which included a $250.00 per person ship ...
