Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Seashore

The MSC Seashore cruise was offering a 5 days cruise through the Mediterranean from Genova to Rome, Napels and Corsica and return to Genova. It is a brand new ship, huge, many restaurants, lounges, atrium, shops, special lights, elevators on the back with a view. We were/ are very impressed! There are several drinking plans. For us the easy plus, so all drinks to 9 euro. Good, no ...

A bit lower than Carnival but can’t beat the rate

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Magnifica

Overall, the cruise was exceptional for the amount of money charged. We especially liked the shore excursions which were made possible by staff member, Aimane Buhamza. He managed to secure us 3 spots on the long sold-out “Christmas in Rome” tour where we got to see the Pope deliver his annual Christmas address to the world from St. Peter’s Square. He not only got that secured for us, but also the ...

Okay for the price

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on MSC Seaside

I chose this cruise for the Itinerary, the price and the low single supplement. Embarkation went smoothly, I was lucky enough to be assigned a disabled cabin and it was large, well appointed and clean. My cabin steward, Stanley was excellent. Service in the dining room was also very good, although it caused difficulty if I wanted to join friends at their table for one meal when there was ...

Pity the Yacht Club restaurant was 350 metres away from the YC

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Preziosa

The Yacht Club is a brilliant concept, including both boarding and disembarking which is extremely well organised and we had 5 weeks previously on the MSC Virtuosa, where we had found the YC to be a completely self contained ship within a ship, this is not the same on the Preziosa. Let me first explain that both my wife and I both suffer from walking difficulties, we are both over 85 years of ...

Ridiculous Covid testing procedure before boarding created a strong negative impression…

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Grandiosa

The cruise was absolutely excellent in every way. The ship is beautiful and the staff is wonderful. However the testing requirement pre-boarding was a total mess. First of all MSC hadn’t made it clear that it was necessary to bring a negative Covid test (not older than 48 hours) to the check-in desk. So on arrival to the port we were sent to a nearby pharmacy to get our test certificate. ...

Modern and nice cruise ship but poor service

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Seaside

We cruised during the covid pandemic in September 2021 from Genoa with the MSC Seaside in the mediterranean sea. Embarkation was well organized, we had a fix timeslot for embarkation, took a covid test in the harbour terminal and got our cruise card. The first thing which annoyed us was that once we did a first step on the ship multiple crew members approached us and tried to sell us drinking ...

Inaugural cruise in the YC - mixed feelings

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Seaside

I had the chance to take part in the first cruise of Msc Seaside after a fourteen-month break. Although generally I am quite satisfied I have to admit that there are some things that disappointed me a lot. Regarding the Covid regulations, the same rules apply on Seaside as on Grandiosa. All passengers must have a negative covid test, another test is performed at the terminal. Everyone must ...

Cruising During Covid with MSC

Review for a Italy Cruise on MSC Grandiosa

MSC are one of the first cruise lines to start operating their ships again following the situation with Covid-19. Whilst they appear to be getting it right and the experience was excellent they could be leading to a total disaster. Embarkation All passengers are provided with their allocated embarkation time and its important that you are respectful of this not only for yourself but other ...

Some Great Things, But Also Some Deal Breakers

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Grandiosa

User Avatar

The MSC Grandiosa is a very mixed experience, and whether it makes sense for you depends a lot on what you value and what gets under your skin. I will first describe the things on MSC Grandiosa that are first-rate. Then I will describe what I think is poorly done, and will represent deal-breakers for many. After that I will describe the ship's overall philosophy, and the type of person for ...
