I've travelled with a group of friends to discover the new ship at the very beginning of his life. We had Fantastica Experience. The ship is really amazing!!! :) The staff is helpful and smiling and everything around was so welcoming! Our balcony cabin was a real haven of peace (in-cabin breakfast was a real luxury!) but at the same time we truly did our best to take advantage of the many facilities available. My TOP 5: - The dome in the Galleria. I could have spent entire evenings watching at this new incredible feature! Stars, planet, rooftops... a new discovery every night! - Cirque du Soleil. I'm a huge fans and I've seen many of their shows. Imagining great artists performing while the ship was sailing is outstanding! - Happy Hour at Eataly. Being with friends, we tried different appetizers... could not choose my favourite! - The Spa. I was in love the whole team... they made me feel so pampered! - The night parties. Entertainment team is very active and engaging... I think the 70s party will be an everlasting memory to me! Some guests told us they had some bad experience with the transit in port... to be honest everything run smooth for us and we could have the best of our time! Something to improve: I wish it could last more... there are neverending activities and we didn't success to do all of them!!!! Can't wait to plan my next one on Seaside!!! Read Less

We chose this as it was available! We thought P and O was a reputable company. The Oceana itself is very tired, and desperately in need of upgrading and modernising. Our first impression on embarking showed it to be dark and old fashioned inside. We had chosen a suite , so expected a few perks as we have had on other cruises when paying for a suite. But no Speedy boarding at either the airport ( it was a Fly Cruise) or the ship. The only benefit was breakfast where we had a quieter separate area for breakfast, and occasionally for dinner. Food was good n the whole. Wine list was good too.Staff were friendly and attentiveness on the whole. On other cruises perks had been reserved seating in the theatres too, not so here. However the entertainment was spectacular. We only used the tiny adult pool once. We don't enjoy busy tourist resorts, and the pool areas were just like this. They were heaving with noisy, beer drinking passengers. There should be larger pools, or perhaps one more? It was a bit like an upmarket Ibitha seaside resort i imagine . Our cabin suite was of reasonable size, though again, very tired. Furniture was dark and in need of upgrading. The balcony again, of reasonable size, needed freshening and making a bit more luxurious rather than functional. There wasn't a separate lounge area for Suite guests. We have enjoyed this on previous Cruises, being able to get snacks and drinks at any time of day. Any drinks or snacks on Oceana had to be paid for, after queuing . The lunchtime buffet, whilst looking to be quite good in selection and quality, was again heaving with people, with Butlin style queues. Read Less

Unfortunately poor experience. First about the good things: destinations, views, tours, ports and excursions By myself. Then about the other things: it was very difficult to find the right port in Genoa had to go By taxi and they even changed the port to another port even taxi driver had to ask where is the right Place. The port had all offices closed. This was only a start. When I gone to cabin I found my new luggage broken. I saw man he throw luggages and I saw my luggage was under 7 luggages those were too heavy and broke my luggage. I'm sure I'm not the only who who did this happen because the way they throw luggages it's easy to break luggages like that. It was terrible welcome surppise to find new broken luggages. I bought new luggage just before the Cruise because my old luggage was broken and then same happened again but it was their fault. I don't get it why they keep workers who like to throw luggages or why they won't educate them more. I travel a lot of and I don't have always time to buy new luggage for the cruise. Then I had to go immediately to the reception for telling about the problem and they told they will send somebody after days to check the luggages. Yes, after days! I had to wait. Yes I didn't book suite so that kind of service then. Before I booked another MSC Cruise and there was better buffet but here the pasta was full of salt I had to drink water all the time and water was often warm. Luckily there was many coffee machines because one was smelling even after they cleaned one machine still smelt. As I told I liked before another MSC ship and it's buffet but here can't say the same because of poor service and there was no food for 20h as they promise because they took often food away. Example I was waiting the food at the buffet from 5 to 7 pm. There was only pizza slices very often but we all won't eat only pizza I expect more when pay about 10€ tipping fees/day. One man with his daughter tried to ask tomato pasta but they didn't get what they asked. I think they didn't ask too much. After days worker came and promise compensation money from the broken luggage after that I got to know the compensation was that they only removed the whole tippings fees. It is good system but not enough because I had to carry broken luggage around later. Worker who throw luggages won't deserve any tipping fees that's right but their manager should educate them more. The buffet was often full of people and sometime no place where to sit down! I had to ask if waiter knew where I could sit down with the food I had and he only said "Too late!!" How rude incredible service I was not late and I didn't know that I had to reserve some time for the buffet even buffet is not restaurant with time. Waiters and waitresses were not very interested for helpings guests to find table and sometime they didn't remove food left on the tables and there was many tables with a lot of cream and dirty because families gone and left tables like that and cleaner didn't come to clean tables after. I decided to left the ship before disembarkation in Genoa I didn't want to Cruise anymore it was not like a Holiday. The reception worker wokeup guests every Morning 10am she was speaking loudly about the Lotto and things like that all knew already. I was too late from the buffet as waiter told so I should just sit down on the floor for eating? Incredible attitudes. There was a lot of guests, women sitting with their handbags and they didn't eat nothing they just reserved buffet tables with their bags and told "Riservato!!!" reserved. Incredible rude attitude they kept reserving tables only with their handbags for their bags because they tried to be like the Queen of the ship or something stupid and naive. Very arrogant. Only one foreigner woman told I can sit to her table all other (mainly Italian women) told me all is reserved only for them. Man at the excursion office he was more interested to serve and give information for one couple than for selling bus tickets for others. I mean there was 3 workers at the Excursion office and the man working there he didn't notice there was more customers he only saw one couple I mean the woman and then he didn't see nobody else but luckily there was one woman working and we got tickets from her. Again incredible attitude and they should treat customers more equally. There was less time for visiting destinations couldn't see many places because the ship left so early and arrived to one destination in the late evening. Had not enough time for visiting those destinations so I decided to continue journey By myself and left the ship. I got allergy in the cabin somehow and the bathroom was dirty and also few towels were dirty so I kept the old towels because those were clean. I was expecting a nice cruise holiday but it didn't happen. I don't expect luxury quality but I expect more of polite service and not to get broken luggage when arrive to the ship. I think I'm not asking too much. Never again because of this. I left the ship before disembarkation no wonder. I gave 2 points only for the destinations and to service only one point. Read Less

every cruise line has a care of duty to their staff and their guests, they must never put you in danger, they must be helpful, have patience, be understanding, use common sense, have the time to talk to the guests, have the decency to say good morning, and above all, make you feel welcome. MSC does none of this, in fact, they do the absolute opposite, let me explain. 1, msc arranged our transfer from genoa airport to the ship by coach, after 45 mins the coach was filled with smoke, and we were stranded for 90 mins on the dual carriageway, putting the passengers in danger. 2, there was no msc rep on the bus, the driver could only speak Italian, not very helpful. 3, on reaching the ship, we had to unload our own luggage while the porters watched, we were then hurried onto the ship, only to be met by security, meanwhile on the port, suitcases were being dropped. 4, after 7 hours of having no food or drink, were offered a glass of water, really? 5, customer services did not want to know about our problems, they had enough of their own, like trying to work out how they managed to put two sisters on the wrong coach, the wrong ship, and have nowhere for them to sleep, you couldn't make this up. 6, trying to get a smile out of the security staff, or the bar staff in the starlight disco, was like pulling teeth. 7, my wife and I were on the ship for 7 days, and we only got to know 5 members of staff who took the time to make us feel welcome, joceline, Ismael, rantiasa, med;e, and maria. 8, the ship is quite small compared to others we have been on, theres not really a lot of activities to do, unless you like dance lessons, the restaurant service is quite quick, and the food is good, there was a minimal selection of excursions, our ocean view cabin was quite pleasing and very clean, entertainment was nothing to write home about, and getting off the ship was a chore in its self, I was looking forward to a nice relaxing week off work, didn't happen, my summary of the msc armonia is this, regimental, and unhappy staff, I wont be going again. The first embarkation was easy and very smooth. We had been on this ship when it was brand new and we were pleasantly surprised on the updates that were made. The cabin was twice about 20 square meters on the 8 floor with large balcony and ship was new about 5-6 month. The most important was the value for 12 days the price - 1400 euros for 2 adults and one child. Dining, entertainment, activities, and service was impeccable. We have day by day shore excursions there. We have nothing but good to say about MSC company and our shore excursions. Most of the time in every port of call we are booked private tours from local companies. Everything we booked in advance was easy, and our guides was knowledgeable about the places, was amazing and full of adventure.It took some time longer than we anticipated to go through the tendering process to exit the ship.
