There were 8 of us going on the Mediterranean cruise, so we were looking for something that was more budget friendly and we chose MSC as it was slightly cheaper than the other cruise lines we have taken in the past. This was our first time going with MSC and I was a bit apprehensive after reading some of the reviews given here on how MSC sucked and how it was the worst cruise they've taken - and ...

We were talked into going on this cruise by my sister in law as it seemed to be excellent value and a good way to see some great european sights. we are first time cruisers and were a little apprehensive especially after reading some of the reviews.however after a very smooth and easy embarkation we went to our balcony cabin on deck 11 Meraviglia well appointed and clean. We dined in the Red ...

We have been on a number of cruises with different companies, and this was the second time on MSC. We travelled as a party of 7 (3 generations) in two Aurea grade balcony cabins over Easter 2015. We flew UK to/from Nice, France by EasyJet and then took the included MSC transfer to the ship in Genoa about 90 minutes down the motorway. I once read a review that described MSC as a 'Marmite' ...

1st time with MSC but not our first cruise experience

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Fantasia

We have just returned from our first cruise with MSC on the Fantasia and although we enjoyed our 11 day excursion, it just didn't come up to the standards we had experienced on Carnival Cruise Ships. Ticketing and Flight connections from Gatwick to Nice with BA were very good although it wasn't possible to check in on line and seats were available on first come first served basis. The ...

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Ventura

Have cruised with P&O once before (Oceana) and Ventura is certainly a more modern ship but, considering the size of the ship, the facilities are not much better. The library is very poor, shops not great, and standard of food not as good as we remembered. Like many people, I object to paying extra to eat in a "speciality" restaurant; all the food should be of an equal standard. I got tired of ...

Cruised on Ventura from Genoa stopping at Livorno, Naples, Dubrovnik, Venice then back again via Kotor, Corfu, Civitavecchia and Ajaccio (Corsica). An excellent itinerary which enabled us to visit a few “must-haves” and re-visit a few others as well as some we probably wouldn’t have gone to otherwise. First of all, Ventura is a large ship and it takes the best part of 2 weeks to find your way ...

Really enjoyed our third Ventura cruise which was excellent for the most part, The ship was spotless, the cabin steward Michael was efficient and kept the cabin like a new pin. The ports of call were lovely especially Kotor and Dubrovnik. The entertainment that we saw was very good. The food was in the main very good, However, meals now come with vegetables already on the plate whether you want ...

Beautiful ship but staff need training in service

I booked this cruise for two reasons: because it was going to Alexandria (with the opportunity to visit the Pyramids)and because there was no single supplement. The BA flight from Heathrow got us to Milan in under two hours, but the coach journey from Malpensa airport to Genoa took about two and three-quarter hours. We even had to queue at the port to get off. I had checked in online, so followed ...

I have to admit this cruise was chosen based on itinerary, itinerary and itinerary. In fact there are very few cruise lines that would have turned me off based on a ship when looking at such a port intensive schedule of Katakolon-Olympia, Pireaus-Athens, Rhodes, Cyprus, Alexandria, Crete, Marmaris and Naples. In any event, I was prepared for things to be different after reading so many ...
