This was our first cruise experience - £599 including flights for 7 nights flying from Gatwick for a cabin with balcony.
Long delay with British Airways but once we arrived at Genoa all went smoothly
The ship is HUGE and orientating yourself about the ship isn't easy
It is however spotlessly clean and staff are continually cleaning - day and night
The food was disappointing - Luke warm and a ...
We found the service comparable to our last cruise with carnival. The decor had more bling, nobody can top that fabulous stairway. We did find it challenging adjusting to continental meals, although Western tastes were catered for it wasn’t up to par. Restaurant meals better than the crowded buffet. A regular comment from passengers was that the meals were not hot enough.
The reason we wouldn’t ...
This was our 3rd cruise with MSC, our first on the Fantasia. We had a wonderful time. We originally booked this cruise because of the ports we were going to be stopping in, with Israel being one of them. Because of the unrest in Israel, MSC took that stop off the itinerary and replaced it with Malta, Izmir, and Sicily I believe. While we were disappointed that Israel had been taken off, we had a ...
The cruise itinerary was middle of December 2014, departing from Genoa to Civitavecchia to Heraklion to Piraeus to Istanbul (2 days stop in Istanbul) to Malta to Messina and back to Genoa.
The cruise was booked directly by MSC, including the Allegrissimo drinks package.
Embarkation in Genoa went quite well, thanks.
But this was almost only the one positive side of this cursed cruise, hence then ...
That was our 3rd cruise with MSC. We experienced Fantasia and Opera prior to this one and I must say this one was the worst one of them all. Where do I begin. Entertainment was 0 to nothing, shows were awful, daytime there was nothing to do, we had one 12 year old that was bored out of his mind. Ricardo that was supposed to be the person to lead the Young club was never there during the day and ...
My wife and I had sailed with MSC to the Carribean before and enjoyed the experience. That's why we chose to sail with MSC again. Unfortunately, this cruise was not up to our expectations. Our room was great and the maid was top notch. We could not have asked for better. While we had a great room at the stern of the ship with a balcony, the dining experience was not the greatest. our waiter at ...
Have cruised with P&O once before (Oceana) and Ventura is certainly a more modern ship but, considering the size of the ship, the facilities are not much better. The library is very poor, shops not great, and standard of food not as good as we remembered. Like many people, I object to paying extra to eat in a "speciality" restaurant; all the food should be of an equal standard. I got tired of ...
Having read some previous reviews, I was a bit nervous what to expect on our cruise, but decided to just go with the flow and make my own mind up. Well its been made up - Loved the cruise, the itinerary, the food and the other passengers. Our cabin was looked after brilliantly by Manuel, who would always greet us and asked how we were etc. We only had an inside cabin, but its a lot bigger than we ...
We are two seventy plus English pensioners who have done 10 plus cruises on several cruise lines. We picked this cruise because it was a good price and we hadn't used Costa before. We stayed one night in the Park Inn by Nice airport to avoid getting up at a ridiculous time, the hotel was excellent. We picked up our transfers at 12 o'clock at the airport and arrived at Savona port two hours later. ...
Cruised on Ventura from Genoa stopping at Livorno, Naples, Dubrovnik, Venice then back again via Kotor, Corfu, Civitavecchia and Ajaccio (Corsica). An excellent itinerary which enabled us to visit a few “must-haves” and re-visit a few others as well as some we probably wouldn’t have gone to otherwise.
First of all, Ventura is a large ship and it takes the best part of 2 weeks to find your way ...
