7 complaints and 2 compliments: COMPLAINTS: 1. Change of itinerary due to vis major. As on the 7. October 2023. the war between Gaza and Israel suddenly begun, Costa changed our itinerary and instead of docking in Ashdod (Israel), Alexandria (Egypt), and Limassol (Cyprus) the new itinerary included Istanbul and Izmir (Turkey) and Volos and Piraeus (Greece). The passengers were informed of ...

You get what you pay for, hard working crew....

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Opera

I picked this cruise for the price as a solo traveller as I thought the itinerary was good for the time of the year (Dec), overall I got good value for money as the ship was clean and the crew hard working. The food in the buffet was good Italian fare with hotdogs and burgers always a favourite for the kids and grown up's alike. The big let down for me was the standard of food in the restaurants ...

The ship The MSC Preziosa is one of 4 “Fantasia” class ships in the MSC Cruise Fleet. It started it’s life as a ship ordered by the Gadaffi Regime in Libya. The original vision for the ship was to include a huge shark aquarium and a host of other unusual features. After the revolution the regime defaulted on payments. MSC Cruises bought the hull, as it was similar to their “Fantasia” Design ...

Bitter sweet experience

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Meraviglia

I was looking forward for this experience with MSC having travelled with other companies in the past. first the sweet: The ship is new and looks very well kept, the cabin was really nice, the staff is trying to help whenever you need any help, the entertainment shows were excellent. Bitter: when you board, the staff is telling you that drinks are not included on board (not true there ...

I signed up before I had read the reviews. If you want a great itinerary on for a cheap price MSC Meraviglia is a good deal. However, expect to get nickel and dimed to death. They even make you pay for water in the dining room. In your room the only TV channels are news or ship information and sales. Movies on the TV cost 8 euros. There is nothing to do on the ship that doesn't cost. But when you ...

A Lovely Glitzy Modern Ship

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Fantasia

I really cannot fault the ship. A modern ship with the WOW factor. Our mid ship balcony cabin on deck 11 was spacious and modern. clean and well appointed. The entertainment was superb and the bars too. Embarkation which is available at al ports means there is never the big rush to get on and off the ship. The food though at best was only OK. After cruising NCL earlier in the year it was a let ...

This is only our second cruise so our review should bear that in mind. We choose this cruise as it fitted in date wise & was relatively inexpensive. We flew from Gatwick on the Sunday morning & the flight was on time & found the MSC rep at Genoa airport & were very soon on our way to the ship. Embarkation - our first impression was that this would prove to take a while & be rather ...

We went on a 7 night cruise round the West. Med. on the Preziosa with a couple of friends (Sept.19th to 26th 2015.) This was the third time we went on a MSC cruise, the first time about nine years ago. On all three cruises, the ships were beautiful and all fairly new. The cabins were always nice and kept reasonably clean. We got a complimentary upgrade from ocean view to two balcony cabins and ...

Very Enjoyable, with a Few Snags

We enjoyed the cruise but there were a few bumps in the road. British Airways flight from Gatwick to Genoa mislaid my wife's suitcase containing everything needed for the trip. Customer services aboard the ship showed some initial interest and assured us it would be delivered the following day at our first port of call in Naples, it wasn't. We were then assured it would be waiting for us in ...
