Where do start, internet, none existent, menu never changed for 12 days, food cold and tasteless, since when do you make chilli with cannelloni beans. Took the ship over 24 hours to cover about 200 miles and I know that’s why it is called cruising but we could have all day in Tromso instead of docking at 7 at night and having to leave at 3 in the morning for the airport, why, because the company ...
BEWARE!!!!
My Wife and I went on the Vesteralen I'm not sure if spelling correct but it doesn't matter
it was the worst holiday we have had in our lives and couldn't wait to get of the boat
The officers on board were rude and not customer focused
The accommodation was two bunk beds in a room that could hardly fit two people in it
I had to sleep on the floor as the top bunk made me ...
My wife and I chose this cruise because we wanted to visit Amsterdam, Norway and Iceland. We were primed to go to Amsterdam, Norway and Iceland (the latter two for the first time). We are in our late 70's and this was perhaps our last chance to do this. We understand the elimination of the relevant ports doe safety reasons due to a hurricane. We do not understand why the port of La Havre was ...
Classic ship on iconic route - what could be better? A lot, as it turns out: The route does not offer much fjord experience, mostly you trundle coast-wise behind the outlying islands. Most places the time in port is too short for sightseeing. Once in open seas, this little ships rocks. And rolls. Keep your seasickness pills handy. The company has a museum at its place of origin. Don't expect to ...
The MS Lofoten crew were brilliantly friendly and helpful and several passengers were so fond of the ship and crew that they were on a repeat voyage. Unfortunately, I was not to become so endeared to the ship.
MS Lofoten is a 55 year old Ferry. It was designed as a Ferry. It was built as a Ferry. It is operated as a Ferry. Many people (and cargo) use it as a Ferry. It is not a “cruise” ship. ...
Chose this cruise for a first time cruise. Brochure made it look very nice.
We would not recommend this cruise
Too many people, not enough space or things to do - just cramped. Everywhere busy, queues and everything expensive. Queues to get on and off ship (one day 90 minutes waiting in the rain to get back on ship).
Cabins small and basic. Nothing grand. Nothing like photos in brochure. ...
Having cruised with Celebrity many times we are Captains Club Elite members. We have always found them to be the best cruise line having cruised with Cunard, Royal Carribean, and P&O. The staff were unhelpful and sometimes rude. The perks we were entitled to were usually waiting inside your cabin for you, but this time you had to ask for them if you wanted them. Needless to say Celebrity obviously ...
I travelled to see the Northern Lights.
In the 12 days aboard the ship our room was never vacuumed, the bed’s were made once and the sheets on the bed never changed.
The food was always lukewarm to cold.
Food leftovers from the previous night were put out for lunch next day and reheated.
No water was available at breakfast.
No coffee or tea was available for dinner.
One slice of ...
My wife and I chose this cruise (Bergen to Kirkenes, Sept 2018) as there really isn't any other total Coastal cruise. It was suppose to be her dream cruise, as she is of Norwegian heritage. First, the best fjords are in the Bergen area, and do not require a Hurtigruten cruise. You can take a nice fjord day cruise (Sognefjord) as part of the Norway-in-a Nutshell (Oslo to Bergen, Flam train and ...
Well usually I am not very fussy. I have sailed with celebrity and RC previously and had a great time. This is my first time on MSC. Well where can I start. The dinning experience was horrendous and I have stopped using the main dinning hall and opted for the the buffett choice restaurant instead. The food is not edible and tasteless despite the head chef been english supposedly., the service was ...
