We had done a Gate 1 trip a couple of times before, and it was always wonderful. They are SO far above the bar as compared to a regular cruise. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. Our tour director was enthusiastic and friendly. Our room was sparkling clean each day. Internet was free and available mostly with urban areas. My wife and I just returned from an excellent trip from Gate 1, including a week on the Danube on the Monarch Governess, with a pre-cruise in Budapest and a post-cruise in Prague. A wonderful 7 days on the Rhine. This was our first river cruise with Gate 1 but not our first trip with them. This was supposed to be the Trip of a Lifetime but it turned sour pretty quickly because of a broken heater in the Monarch Countess Cabin #327.
