About us: Myself and 2 DDs (17, 19), my Mom, my twin sister and her husband and their 3 kids (11, 9, and 6). It way daughter's and my 8th cruise (6th on RCI), my Mom's third and my sister and her family's first time on RCI. I am located in DC and my family is all in College Station, TX. So my DDs and I flew in on April 15th, and we all drove down to Galveston (2hrs) the day of ...

First let me start by explaining, that we have traveled with RCCL before and LOVED them, but this was Easter/Holy week apparently and RCCL kept it to themselves and didn't even tell their Crown and Anchor members that there would be over 1400 Mexican passengers on board and every year it is horrible and they know it!!!! Apparently it is about three weeks in April (so make yourselves be warned). So ...

Another Great Experience on the Voyager

Port of Galveston:This is our fifth cruise on Royal Caribbean, and our second on Voyager. While Galveston is a very convenient port for departure (about 8 hours drive for us) the port itself is fraught with aggravation. Why they cannot open a second entrance for the second terminal is beyond me.Embarkation: Once inside the terminal, the embarkation process can be frustrating, but we have ...

My husband and I booked an aft corner cabin a year before our cruise. This was my 6th cruise and my husband's 4th. We have both sailed on VOS one other time. There were no relatives or friends cruising with us. We drove down from the Waco area the night before the cruise and stayed at the Hilton Island Resort which is a nice place with free cruise parking and shuttle to the pier.We waited until ...

Better than NCL but not great!

We took this cruise out of Galveston because my husband wanted to go on a poker cruise. The poker was great! They had tournaments everyday and he even won one of them plus there were games going all the time while cruising. We would book another poker cruise but not out of Galveston. It was too hard to get to. You have to fly into Houston and then take a shuttle. If you live in Texas, it wouldn't ...

We are a group of eight ranging in age of 11-80. First, the fabulous - We could not have asked for anything better. We pre-booked (on-line) MTD with dinner at 6 for at sea days and 6:30 for port days. Our wait staff, Nic and Noel, as well as our table location, by a window were fabulous. Very accommodating and engaging, Nic brought out extra meals (not too many, just a taste) without us asking and ...

We cruised the Voyager of the Seas April 17-April 24, 2011. It was myself, husband, 8 year old son and my husband's mom. We were celebrating our 13th Anniversary during this week and were looking forward to a relaxng week. We had two cabins, 7688 and 7690. 7688 is without a doubt one of the best cabins on the VOTS. Arrived at Port about 11:30. We boarded Sunday very quickly. I had packed 4 small ...

I'll use the six star system for this review. My wife and I live in the Houston, Texas area and she cannot fly right now, so a cruise that leaves from Galveston (1.2 hours away) was perfect for us. We have cruised the Mediterranean and the Eastern Caribbean on Celebrity before, but never Royal Caribbean or from Galveston before. We were very pleased with everything. We drove and parked at ...

Sailed April 3, 2011 on a 7 night Western Caribbean cruise - Roatan, Belize, Cozumel - on Royal Caribbean's Voyager of the Seas. Traveling with a group of 8, including two young kids. Three cabins in the reservation; mine was ocean view cabin #3554 (which had a connecting door to #3552). This was my first cruise with RC and only my second cruise ever. (I believe this ship is about to relocate and ...
