Navigator July 19-July 26: (First time sailing on RCCL) 14 year old son and Dad arrived at Galveston Park-n-Cruise parking at 10:20 a.m. Walked across the street and gave luggage to porter. Got in line outside terminal at 10:30 a.m. As approached inside of terminal, far right line opened and walked directly to check-in counter. Completed check-in and went directly onto ship. Time was now 10:57 ...
We LOVE cruising and had been on 4 Carnival cruises in the past 8 years. This was our first Royal Caribbean and it was definitely different from Carnival. We had a good time on the boat and a FANTASTIC in the ports, however, we both agreed we missed the energy of Carnival. Here's the breakdown...
LOVED!
1.Our room! We stayed in a Junior Suite and I don't think we can ever get anything less ...
The cruise was wonderful; the weather cooperated. Embarkation (wheel chair assist) was the easiest it ever had been. ALL the servers on the ship were excellent. The restaurants and bars were good, although the main dining room offerings were bland and mass-produced tasting. All desserts there were gelatinous, even the cakes. The gym and spa were very clean and useable. Spin class was boring rather ...
Having traveled more than 15 times on many different cruise lines. we took our first cruise on a Royal Caribbean ship. The company makes claims they are the #1 cruise line in the business. Don't believe it. They may be #1 in passenger volume but NOT in cruise quality. Their promo offers for attractive On Board Cash Credits becomes a "bait & switch" tactic. Once on board you discover how expensive ...
Mid 40s no kids who booked this on a whim about 3 weeks out. first time on this class of ship.
Embarkation: Galveston has a well deserved reputation for being a CRAPPY embarkation port. Booked Lighthouse parking( covered slots) . close enough to see the ship, very friendly and efficient staff who loaded our bags on the shuttle quickly and got us to Terminal 2 in no time at all. word of advice: ...
Embarkation was quick, but the traffic to the terminal was very heavy, plan for delays in Galveston. It has been seven years since we sailed with RCL. We thought we would give them another try, we were still disappointed, we usually cruise on Norwegian or Carnival. Our cabin was clean and our steward Juliette was the best, we had one of the promenade cabins which was a nice roomy cabin, but the ...
It been a while since we sailed with RCI and we were disappointed with the selection and quality of the food. It was the same thing for 7 days in the windjammer food was warm at best and lacked variety. The formal dining lacked any great desserts like warm molten chocolate cake, etc. We ate at the Chops steak house the first night and found out they didn't even offer a ribeye. if you wanted an ...
We are Canadians and left from Detroit International Airport. We arrived in Galveston on March 1, 2014 rented a car from Avis $52.00 plus $13.00 for gas for the four of us. We stayed at Inn at the water park. very nice place. They will drive you to and from the port. We returned the car back to Avis on March 2, just before we had to board the ship cost $40.00 for tax ride. So it cost $105.00 for ...
Newly renivated ship looked great, I did not like the beds and pillows at all. Reminded me of bunk beds that fold down from wall and hard. Pillows were very slim, but after asking cabin maid, he brought us two more pillows that were thicker. RC has cut out the midnight choc. bar and food was not up to their usual great food. In the main dinning on 11th floor chairs were very slim and big people ...
