Bad Service, Terrible Accommodations, and Poor Quality Food.
3rd time cruising with RC. 30 years old traveling with Fiance. Stayed in a balcony suite.
Beverage Package not worth it, doesn't include everything like it says. Rude bartenders that take FOREVER to serve a drink. And don't forget to include the tax and automatic gratuity which makes it about $30 more than advertised per day. ...
Just as a quick bit of background about who I am so you understand my perspective.
I'm a 27 year old adrenaline junky, foodie who loves sports and performance arts. Despite being what I would describe as a foodie, I'm also not a food snob (I am a coffee snob however) and enjoy comfort foods as well as fine dining.
With this being my first cruise I have no basis for comparison to years past ...
If asked before this cruise, I would have said I prefer cruising Royal Caribbean out of Galveston/Houston. However, this cruise made me rethink this after having cruised in February on NCL for a lower price with a better experience.
On the plus side, Navigator of the Seas is a very nice, clean ship. The service (cabin steward and dining room) was as good as any we have had in well over 20 ...
My wife and I along with our 2 daughters ages 4 and 1 sailed the Navigator on 5/17. We've been on 4 Carnival cruises but wanted to try RC for the childcare due to our 1 ye old. Ship is outdated, old, pink hallways. Staterooms and balcony are ok on size. Bathrooms only have hot and NO cold water until debarkation day. Windjammer buffet tastes of all hospital food. Very rude lady that works left ...
We had much expectation for this cruise for our surprise the ship is big but very old, after embarking we headed to Winjamer cafe was clean but food was ok with very little variety. The story began when we got to the stateroom it had strong odor of rat urine it was unsupportable, the pillows were old and stinky we requested new one not with out giving the housekeeping a cash tip. Was the worst ...

We were on this ship a couple of years ago on a Mediterranean cruise. It was a nice ship then and it is just as nice since the dry dock. Some of the décor has been updated, but the original style of the ship seemed intact. The ice show was a new one and it was great. The previous one was one of our favorites, so it would have been nice to keep it, but maybe it will get transferred to one of ...
Cruise itself was nice...somewhat what I had expected.
We met the transfer at the Houston airport for the shuttle bus down to Galveston & embarkation. This process went real smoothly & we were on our way in no time. The ride was a little over an hour I believe. The process of getting your bags again out of the under carriage area is a bit of a mess but it worked out in the end. We hailed a ...
Food service and the dining room food was great. Other cruise dining room overall experiences were better however.
Entertainment was spotty, with some real misses including the adult event known as the Quest and the adult comedian.
Ship was nice including pools, spas, exercise room, etc. Some of the simple exercise classes were for a fee leading to no one showing.
Overall a good ...
So now that I've been off the ship for almost 2 weeks, I figured this would be a good time to "share" my experiences with you. This cruise was for my mother who is fighting cancer and was meant to be a relaxing cruise for her to enjoy and keep her mind off the fight of her life. We flew into Houston International and had booked transfers through RCCL. According to my paperwork, the bus was ...
