NOTS is a great cruise ship. We love the open Promenade design. Much more "fun" than other ships where you have to walk through clubs and casinos or walk down cabin hallways to get from end to end of the ship. Wonderful food in both the cafeteria and the MDR. Extremely gracious crew! Son teen had a fun time with other teens. Daughter teen was less than thrilled with the teen programs. The ...
This was our first cruise. We found everything went smoothly, but could have used some more hand holding along the way. Embarkation went smoothly, but we were aided by being suite guests which put us in a much shorter line. Did not realize we could get our food in the Windjammer and take it to Chops for embarkation lunch - nice suite perk. Windjammer was crowded but we found a table within about 5 ...
Embarkation:
The Port of Galveston is not the most friendly locale from which to cruise. Parking lots are located a distance from the cruise terminals. Cruisers must take a shuttle from the parking lots to the terminal. When multiple ships are in port at the same time, the congestion is terrible. Once at the terminal, embarkation processing efficiency depended on the time of day one boards. We ...
We sailed out of Galveston on March 1, 2015. Checking in at the port was very quick and simple. We were on deck 10, so we were asked to show up between 11:30 and 12:00 for check in, which we did. We were through everything in less than 30 minutes. I think people that arrived later had some longer waits. We ate lunch in the Windjammer, which is always packed on sail away day. Our room was ready ...
This was my second, and hubby's first, cruise on Navigator of the Seas. I was a little anxious how he'd like it since we are more used to Holland America (which cruises out of our city) but he thought it was a great ship. I know he appreciated the excellent signage. We met up with some friends who live in the SE U.S. and had a wonderful time with them.
We chose to drive from CA to ...
I am a senior citizen who loves to cruise. This was my second cruise on the Navigator of the Seas (8th RCI cruise) and it was wonderful. I was on Navigator last March and thought it was a good cruise but this time was even better. This crew is great, especially the restaurant staff and bartenders. Went to Izumi twice, Glenn and LLoyd made sure the dining experience was excellent each time. Izumi ...
We are RCCL regulars, in the upper tier group and have been on Navigator a few times before. Have to say that this cruise was just not up to RCCL standards in several ways, the first being entertainment. The first song and dance show was awful from beginning to end. I have to say that I have never seen a bad show on RCCL, so this was a disappointing surprise for us. Then, the "adult" comic was a ...
Background:
My wife and I chose this cruise for two reasons, we were celebrating our 10th year anniversary and the ship departed in our home town of Houston. Since this was our first long vacation in a few years and we wanted to splurge without having the kids, we chose to travel in a grand suite. Having been on other cruise lines from Galveston we wanted try Royal for the first time. Being in ...
My husband and I have been on 5 cruises before this cruise. All of them with Royal Caribbean. Each time we've gone we have had an amazing time! After years of promising out 5 children that we would take them we finally did it! We chose to cruise out of Galveston because we figured we could drive to Texas from Colorado and save ourselves the airfare. This made the expense of our family vacation ...
The crew and staff of the Navigator are great. Destinations are terrific. The ship itself however is showing signs of age. I noticed a lot of rust, the floors of the Balconies are cracking and lifting and some fresh paint might go a long way. This was our fifth cruise, and we will go again and sail with RCI. We did not do any shore excursions this time, since our plan was to just enjoy the ship, ...
