LONG lines for coffee & pizza. Too many raffles, contests & gimmicks. Many foul smells. Dated ship fair condition. Forced to pay 18% tips & then SOME staff, have attitude when you don't tip EXTRA. Felt up-sold on everything. Food was marginal. Lots of dirty tables. MOST Bartenders not consistent on drinks. Very sparse alcohol in drinks. Not enough lounge chairs in pool. The RC app crap. Internet ...
Overall we had a great cruise. We are two dads with a 3 year old and 7 month old. Aside from getting several quizzical and confused stares from passengers, we found the other folks on board to be quite pleasant.
The most challenging time (not surprising) was dinner in the MDR. Our waitstaff constantly seemed confused by how to set up our table (booster, high chair, kids menu) and only brought ...
We need to visit Roatan regularly to check on a rental property we own there. In the past, we have had problems with delays boarding and/or disembarking with Royal at Galveston, but this time the process was smooth and efficient.
Our most recent previous voyage was with Carnival, and weather prevented us from docking at the Carnival terminal in Roatan (Mahogany Bay). Which destroyed the trip ...
We got a great price on a Junior Suite 7714 on Dec 5 2019. Boarding was a breeze and we even left 5 minutes early from Galveston. Galveston port is rather dumpy, dated and not the most friendliest elderly staff at check in. Crew was simply fantastic - especially the main dining room team on the 4th deck. Seems to this Diamond member of RCCL Crown and Anchor that the food is improving and ...
Hello all,
This is our first cruise on Royal Caribbean in 10+ years, opting for NCL recently. The Galveston terminal was old but simple to get through. Arrived at 11:45 and on the ship in an hour. We are just "gold" level so we got directed to the "gold" line at the check in desk and people that were behind us that had no status was on board before us. Seems odd that a returning cruiser ...
There were a total of 18 people in our group ranging in age from 4-55 plus. There were various activities for everyone to enjoy. The ship was beautiful and well maintained. I especially loved the promenade. The food in the windjammer was average and did not seem to change much, dining room was really good and the pizza at Sorrentos was the best I’ve had at sea! Adventure camp was wonderful- my son ...
This is only my second cruise, the first was over twenty years ago, and my wife's first. We chose a cruise because of the relatively low cost and the ports of call which included some of our favorite places; Cozumel, Jamaica, and Grand Cayman.
We boarded the ship in Galveston and other than a hickup with our luggage (don't leave the port parking bus before you literally hand over every piece of ...
My husband has to have an accessible ship and uses a motorized wheelchair. i am reviewing this because it is difficult to find reviews of the handicapped rooms and handicapped accessibility on ships. We had an inside room simply because all other classes were booked at the time we booked, so if you really have your heart set on a certain type of room and need an accessible room book early. Our ...
We chose this cruise because had not yet tried Liberty. We also wanted to try an interior room for first time to see if my claustrophobia would tolerate a room with no window or balcony.
We did not care for the Promenade as it was too much like a shopping mall with merchandise on tables blocking walkway. Not shoppers.
We also did not learn where could find drinking water until the fifth ...
Have sailed once before with RC on the Mariner and found it to be pretty great, but first-timers on this ship.
The Good: Fantastic service from room attendant, dining staff and pretty much across the board, with the glaring exception of guest services/admin. Ship is clean and well-maintained and some fun activities are on offer. "The Long Run" headline, Eagles tribute band were outstanding. ...
