My recent voyage aboard the Carnival Cruise Dream from April 6th to 14th was a rollercoaster of experiences, ranging from delightful surprises to disappointing letdowns.
Let's start with the positives. Among the sea of mediocrity, two stars shone brightly. Dewa, our room attendant, embodied excellence in customer service. His attention to detail and friendly demeanor made our stay memorable. ...
At first, we were really disappointed with the Dream. Then, things kind of turned around a little during the final sea days.
The good things:
-- The ship and staterooms seemed very clean.
-- The Alchemy Bar was a kick. Engaging, professional bartenders. Good drinks (although not cheap at $14 for a cocktail).
-- The Bonsai Japanese restaurant was one of our favorites. The food and ...
This was my 35th cruise, but first ever NYE cruise. This cruise was myself, husband, daughter and her husband(this was his first cruise).
Embarkment was fairly quick and easy. We were on this ship by 11:45am.
Dropped off our luggage at our Spa Balcony cabin on deck 12 and headed to the Lido for lunch and a cocktail.
Guy's Burger was delish as always. I didn't eat at the Lido buffet all ...
Nothing like formal night, asking for reserved wine and them losing it. Then issue not being resolved until after dessert. One would think losing a $10 bottle of wine you are charging nearly $50 for would be taken care of immediately. First response was will will give you a glass at no charge. Then waiting until after the meal seemed like vengeance while they lost what I paid for. Additionally, ...
We've been on many cruises, most on Carnival, but this was the worst cruise we've been on for many reasons.
We paid a lot of money for a balcony room and were put on the lowest floor with a balcony that was always wet with standing water, rust, and at times had a terrible sewage odor. Our last day on the ship the sewage smell was in our room.
There were not enough electrical outlets in the ...
We traveled with our son and our 6 year old grandson .We were encouraged to try the Breeze because of the many activities offered for kids. We are not complainers about most everything. If you can go on a cruise, you are a lucky person who should be happy. We usually are.
There were many activities for kids- too bad there was a looooooong line to get to them unless it was a port day and most ...
I chose the Carnival Breeze for a 5 day cruise because it was sailing out of Galveston which is near our home. I took my daughter and her two children. It was my 7th cruise with Carnival and we really were looking forward to it. However, I was disappointed in the condition of the ship. It is definitely time for a refurb and is showing much wear. The upholstery in the main dining room was awful. It ...
1. Drinking water - The water at the beverage stations in the buffet areas flow at a trickle. Seriously. I waited along with elderly passengers and families with small children in line to get water in 90 degree heat. I feel like this is done purposely to try to force people to buy the ship's expensive bottled water or their soda package. It's irresponsible for the company not to have more ...
DW and I are testing the waters for later in life. We did our first cruise ever on RC in Feb and this was our chance to see how Carnival was in comparison.
We did an inside cabin to keep it simple. Took the drink package, did 1 excursion, and some limited extra dining (steakhouse and Cucina).
Two things really jumped out at us between the 2 lines:
The party rarely even pauses on ...
The food was amazing! They have so many gluten-free options! Paul Mark was our awesome waiter every night and he was the best! Buffet food had so many options! American, Mexican, Italian, Mediterranean, French, Sandwiches, and pizza! The Guys' burgers were amazing! When we were in Belize, I was the only person on the Serenity Deck! High recommend staying on the ship for at least one port day. Lei ...
