Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Carnival Magic

I was skeptical to take another cruise out of Galveston with Carnival. My last cruise on the Ecstasy was five nights with stops in Progreso and Cozumel in June of 2008. On that cruise, I had an obstructed ocean view and felt like a stranger in a strange land. I’m not Texan. I don’t like country music. I have no tolerance for children running around in my vicinity. I don’t even like frozen sweet ...

There will be some that trash the January 15th trip on the Carnival Magic. I know this because I heard people on the ship planning it. So let's get past the 2 big complaints first, since they were really out of Carnival's control. There were two very big problems this week. First, when getting on and off the ship in the Grand Caymans, tendering was outrageous., with those who were not taking ...

Introduction My lovely wife, Rosy, slipped on ice, pre-Christmas, and broke her left shoulder. She suffered a lot of pain and has been off sick from work since then. I decided that some hot sunshine would cheer her up and hopefully aid her recovery. Therefore, we looked for a Caribbean cruise, at a good price, preferably departing Florida. There were several to choose from, but alas ...

Embarkation: Was pretty slow. We arrived at the terminal shortly after noon. We were in line over an hour before getting to the xray scanners. After that, it was faster, but still probably a half hour before we were on the ship. Cabin: Cabin was roomy. Bathroom seemed well laid out. Shower was big enough and water temperature was very reliable. No bars of soap for shower, only ...

It was okay - but not great

This was our second cruise having taken RC first on a cruise of Alaska. This prompted a number of comparisons most of which were not favorable to Carnival. To be fair, we thought the cruise was good - just not great. It could also be that we're just not Carnival-type people. Parking at EZ Cruise and the shuttle to the ship were excellent. You can save a few dollars by paying online for the ...

Carnival Elation - Eastern Mediterranean

Ahoy, matey! This was our first cruise of any kind, but it certainly won't be our last! Elation is a stunning ship, and the crew were all outstanding. If Long John Silver had taken this cruise, he'd of given up his evil pirate ways in favor of commanding a carnival on the high seas. Carnival Cruise Lines, that is...There are a great variety of fun activities on board, from laying out by the pool ...

This is a cruise we will never forget but unfortunately for the wrong reasons. We booked our cruise through RCI (booking was easy and paperwork arrived as promised). We are in our late 30's traveling with three children ranging in age from 4 to 11. This was our first cruise. We sailed on the Elation during Thanksgiving week. We are seasoned travelers who have ventured as far as Southern Africa ...
