I have read several people's review of this ship. Vacation is what you make of it, enjoy yourself or hate it and be miserable your who life. Most people will turn anything around and make the worst out of any situation. I had the time of my life, and plan on going back every year. I enjoyed every bit of this ship. The magic is truly a magical ship. I also plan on being a visitor on every ...
We sailed in 2016 of June. There was really no activities like other cruises before this one. No activities going on the ship. Other than pools, movies, and just a few shows. For this to be one of the new ship it was a bore. The only excitement was at dinner and someone called in and said someone jumped off the boat, which turned out to be a prank. But carnival took it real and had other ship ...
A little background: I traveled with my husband and our 3 boys, ages 14, 14, and 13. This was our 6th cruise and 3rd with Carnival (2 with RCL – Oasis and Liberty- and 1 with NCL- Jewel). I will give my review of the Magic and include a brief comparison to RCL.
Getting there/Embarkation: We are from NJ so we flew to Orlando the day before the cruise. We rented a car at the Orlando airport so ...
Until now I have been a HUGE cruise fan, and a Carnival Gold VIFP but they've just cut back so much I don't recommend for families any more. They've cut out the cute chocolate on your pillow, they want $2 for a tea bag, the sushi bar is gone, the fun stuff in the gym is now all for a $40/day fee, and there were only 2 shows.
However, if funds are not an issue the ship is well appointed, the ...
Leaving in January it is a bit chilly in Galveston. We were ready for the warm rays of sunshine.
This was the final cruise out of Galveston before the Magic was relocating to FL. The crew would have a much needed 3 days with no passengers and they were giddy with excitement!
Embarkation wasn't fabulous. We were given time slots but it still felt like cattle being herded onto the ship and it ...
We chose this cruise based on the convenience of driving to Galveston. My husband had broken his clavicle weeks earlier and we were awaiting his return to work so we decided instead of sitting at home, we'd sit on a balcony with a beautiful view.
We would normally stay overnight in The Woodlands when leaving from the Port of Houston but this time opted for the Hampton Inn of Friendswood to get ...
We are two Carnival gold status grannie cruisers and love embarking out of Galveston for Texas convenience.
We signed in for a Cruise Critic meeting, however it apparently never happened, or at least we found no notice of it.
Back in 2011 we had the pleasure of the Magic’s maiden cruise out of Barcelona. With Magic reaping five years of wear and tear, we expected differences. One thing ...
We chose this cruise because it was the last time the Magic would be sailing from Galveston. It was a great cruise. The food was good, the entertainment was good and the service was great. We chose a balcony room on the 6th floor and had no complaints what so ever. Our room steward Gede was very good and never bothered us at all. Our first stop in Key West was exceptional. We did the Pub Crawl and ...
This was our fifth cruise, third on Carnival. We decided on this cruise about a year before sailing. Picked the date because it was an Eastern itinerary, which we wanted to do after four Westerns in a row. It turned out to be Magic's last cruise from Galveston which made it a little bit more special. The ship had come out of a dry dock and refurbishment about a month earlier and it showed. The ...
We sailed Magic April 10th - 17th ...... What an AMAZING Vacation!
Embarkation: We had FTTF, we got to the terminal at 9:30am (We had 10:00 check-in also), they were not letting anyone in the building if they had a later check-in time which is great that they are sticking to it. They started boarding @ 11:30am, we were on the ship and had our bags dropped off in our room that was ready for us ...
