We were so excited to be going on vacation on our first cruise with our 3 yr. old and 6 yr. old. However, as soon as we stepped on the ship we noticed the foul, musty smell and also noticed how ugly the carpet and interior was. Kind of surprising. But it was ok, there was lots of fun to be had. Who cares, we'll get used to the smell and just won't worry about the ugly interior. So we get to our ...

we expected this to really suck as we heard this boat was a mess and full of craziness. we we surprised.the boat and rooms were in good shape and we had a really fun time with the kids. we thought since a "smaller" ship that we would be missing a lot of the amenities but everything was there despite being slightly smaller (other than huge mini golf course).PROs: water slides were great (and plenty ...

Wow! I don't even know where to start. The smoking was horrible. No one followed the smoking rules and they were never enforced either. Everywhere you went you felt like you were in an ash tray. Our stateroom was nice. We had an interior room and the size was not bad. The door was hard to close but we got a phone call from guest services asking if it was fixed (our stateroom cleaner must have ...

This was our first Carnival cruise and we sailed with a 6 y.o. and an 8 y.o. The kids loved Camp Carnival and at one time refused to be picked up. The counselors there did a very good job. Our cabin was lovely, the balcony was a winner -- beautiful view every day, not too windy. The bathroom had a stale urine smell that I could not get rid of. They cleaned the room very well twice a day, but I ...

Parking ~ Parked at the lighthouse parking area for $40.00. Included storage of the car and transportation to and from the ship. Service was friendly and efficient. Embarkation ~ Overall the process went smooth, took about an hour to get through all the checkpoints. Word to the wise don't take any photos till your on the boat, you will get an ear full. Room ~ I expected it to be smaller but it ...

My wife and I embarked on our second Carnival cruise and fourth cruise together overall, the other two being on Royal. To be honest, we went in with low expectations for this cruise mainly due to horror stories we have heard about debarking from Galveston but also due to our previous experience with Carnival which had been somewhat underwhelming. We really enjoy newer boats with the new bells and ...

This ship, while older has many updated features, from the floors, art, to the bathrooms. We sailed out of Galveston, TX in a balcony cabin. This was our first cruise, our honeymoon, upon boarding the confusion started. The cruise line is not very good at giving instructions on how to board and how to find ones cabin. After about 30 minutes of wandering around we finally found our room and we were ...

I was hesitant to book a Carnival cruise because of its budget friendly reputation but I was pleasantly surprised and feel it's an excellent value. Used Lighthouse Parking, no need to drop off your bags first then park, they will take care of everything for you. Pretty easy check in and embarking, lines went by fast. Rooms were ready by 1:30. Cabins - great tip to bring your own alarm clock ...

Background: I went on this cruise with my mother and grandma. I have been on several Carnival Cruises and an NCL. My mom has just been on Carnival, and this was my grandmothers first cruise. We booked the cruise in September for about 330$ per person. We had an inside cabin, U96. We were a little nervous about going on the Ecstasy because of the dry dock and previous reviews. When we ...

We drove in from San Antonio that morning and arrived around 1 p.m. I think it would have been better to arrive closer to noon to allow more time for parking etc. We prepaid parking on line with Lighthouse Parking. You park your car in their lot and they drive the shuttle right up to your car to get your luggage and take you to the port. The embarkation line looked long but it went smoothly and ...
