Disastrous ending to an otherwise decent cruise

This is my 6th cruise and first on Carnival. We chose this cruise because either the wife or I had been to Jamaica or the Cayman Islands, and a good price coupled with a Galveston departure (no plane connections) made it a good value. We had heard rumors of the excessive party atmosphere on Carnival ships, so we planned the trip after school resumed to reduce the risk. Unfortunately, that is ...

We cruised the Eastern Caribbean itinerary the end of September and there were good points but unfortunately the bad outweighed the good. This is our 15th cruise, 2nd cruise on this particular ship. All in all we had a great time because we chose not to let negative occurrences ruin our vacation but also felt led to write this review for same reason. Let's start from the beginning. Embarkation ...

OK, three cruises with two more coming in the next few months doesn't make me an expert... and yet I have seen some vast differences that were extremely visible on this cruise that I debarked from today. This cruise was on the Carnival Conquest (my first Carnival cruise). On the plus side, the room was nice. We always travel internal cabins (hey, why spend the extra money when your ...

This was the second cruise on the Conquest. First cruise was to the Western Caribbean and this time to the Eastern Caribbean. Being a Texan, the cruises out of Galveston are so convenient and Carnival prices can't be beat. This time we had 2 teenage boys with us - a NEW experience! It was their first cruise, but our 6th. The Conquest was a little shabby this time, both in appearance and ...

This review is for the Eastern Caribbean itinerary for April 24-May 1. We are fifty-something multi-line experienced cruisers who live within driving distance of the port. We had an Ocean Suite and also took our adult daughter and her partner in an inside. We were dropped at the port. Since we had an Ocean Suite and our daughter's cabin was using our same credit card account, we were all able to ...

This is my second cruise with Carnival, my 6th overall. This was by far the least enjoyable. Where to start: - Smoking. Everywhere. At some point, Carnival Conquest decided to allow smoking in all (AS IN EVERY SINGLE ONE) onboard clubs and bars. Given the small size and low ceilings in many of them, it made it impossible for us to enjoy any of them. We tried multiple times to visit the ...

This was our second cruise on the Conquest. The first time was to the Western Caribbean, this time to the Bahamas and Key West. My main complaint was that no matter whether we ate in the formal dining room or the buffet line the food was lukewarm to cold. This was particularly irritating in the Monet dining room. I know it was not our waiter's fault. He clearly was getting the food out to ...

I have read several cruise reviews from people who, by the dates they list, were on the same cruise I was on. But their negativity makes me wonder...One person says his and his wife's luggage was rifled through, another mentioned staff standing around talking to each other ignoring the cruisers. Someone else had cold tasteless food in the same dining room I was in. Number one...The ...

It's all about the Money, and there is no loyalty

Let me start off by saying in the past that I have been on 6 carnival cruises, and I was in their corner for being one of the industry leaders. After returning yesterday from a 7 day cruise on the Conquest, my wife, my friends, and I have all decided that it will be our last Carnival cruise. The first thing you notice about Carnival is that they can care less about customer loyalty. We not ...

My wife and I have been talking about taking our first cruise for the past 5 years. After extensive research, we finally selected Carnival, primarily because of the reviews posted on this forum. Living in a very cold climate during the winter (Northern New Mexico), we wanted to take a vacation in a warm climate. We finally selected the Carnival 7 day Eastern Caribbean cruise aboard the ...
