We booked this cruise with a large group of friends. We had never been to Cayman and wanted to see it. For a ship that is only 4 years old, the Breeze is showing signs of wear and tear. Attention to detail was lacking where housekeeping was concerned. The last 3 days of our trip we were without hot water. The Carnival team tried to make repairs but were unsuccessful. Comparing notes with others in our section, we learned we were not alone with the cold showers. The lido buffet was OK but the dining room was above the norm. Corrina was our head waitress and she was top notch. She never missed any detail, no matter how small. Always friendly and inviting, it was a pleasure to eat in her section. We highly recommend Stingray City in Cayman. IT was a lot of fun and we did not feel like cattle being driven to market. We booked the excursion through Carnival. Read Less

The day we was to leave on our cruise. We had to wait in line outside the terminal for over 3 hours. No where to sit, the elderly, the handicapped all waiting outside in the sun. Our ship was supposed to leave at 4, instead it was at 6. They stated it was a problem with the ship. No V I Ps was let on early like normal. This was my fifth cruise. Third thru the Galveston Terminal. I will never cruise on the Breeze. I did not enjoy the Huge Ship experience. I will stick with the smaller ships, from now on. This ship was way to lenient on allowing children into the Casino. The last night of our, cruise they make an announcement about having No Kids in the Casino. We also had on our last night drunk teens screaming and cursing one another in the hall way. Beating on their doors of their cabins. Our Balcony neighbor was smoking pot, on his balcony. The workers are nice on the ship, and the food was better than normal. Hopefully your experience with the Breeze is better than mine! Read Less

Family trip for everybody in the family. First cruise for myself and my wife. I learned a few things on the trip. FTTF is a must, as well as the cheers package. The drinks are expensive and having that covered is a great thing. Just remember that in most port calls you won't be drinking onboard. Also remember the first day from Texas the cheers program isn't started yet. Had a great time in most ports, I felt like everything on the cruise was less designed to have you relaxed and more to spend more money. The "deals" and items for sale onboard were really bad. I checked everything with the paid internet (which wasn't that great) and the prices were horribly overpriced, but they act like they are giving you a deal. It's not too bad for jewelry and items you don't really need (because you don't really need them), but the essentials being overpriced (toothpaste or sunscreen) I think is not acceptable. The "pictures" for sale on board are 18-20 per digital download with no deal for buying multiples... This is way overpriced in my opinion. There were constant announcements to sell you something or about a sale that would be going on.. I want to purchase an all inclusive vacation, not a sales seminar... otherwise give me a free cruise and I'll spend all my money on junk you are selling. The entertainment singers and bands were the best part. You could float from area to area and relax to live music. The Lido deck had two pools (forward and aft) but they are usually filled with kids and the music was so loud (forward pool) that most people didn't hang out at the pool or sun-bathing areas. The aft pool had soot and dark crud on all the chairs from the exhaust. My wife tried laying out, but got covered in black specks and smeared by sitting in the chairs. The buffet food was by far the best option for most of the trip. While the food isn't great, it's not bad and you can serve yourself. When we ate at the Sapphire the food was mostly better quality, but be prepared to sit around for 2-3 hours (minimum). The drinks took forever, bring some drinks in with you at the Sapphire. The cleaning staff at the rooms and buffet area are by far the best crew members on board. They made us feel like we were special and was really happy to get help from them during the entire trip. The gym is incredibly small and most of the equipment was damaged or didn't work. They had more ellipticals that didn't work than ellipticals that did, but no signs indicating they were out of service until you tried to use them. The screens are all touch screens and are all to damaged to do anything with them. The weight area was too small for more than 3 people to work out at a time, and with over 4000 people on board, no matter what time I went, it was always busy. The weight machines were ok, 1 of each type, and were also very busy. The smith machine was horrible and was "repaired" to work, but not great by any means. The Cloud 9 spa was a great idea, but they cater to the higher class members of the ship. My wife one a free spa unlimited for the duration, but every time she went to use it, the staff was very unfriendly and wouldn't even help or show her around. My mother had an appointment almost every day at the spa and they treated her completely different. It you give a free gift, you should be treated the same, otherwise why give it? Doesn't make her want to purchase it for our next cruise... The casino was ok, but they only had 1 craps table, which is very very popular. They should add another to allow for more fun. Don't expect drinks by any staff in this area unless you go to the bar yourself. The announcements were pretty constant and really didn't give any good information. My grandmother came on the cruise and was usually in bed by 8 or 9pm and they had some announcements that I thought were not useful after this timeframe. If you are a first time cruise goer or don't spend lots of money adding extra non-essentials, you can sometimes feel like a second class person by other people and the staff, but ultimately it wasn't a bad trip. The shore excursions weren't great. We went to Good Hope in Jamaica and can honestly say that most people were upset. For 60/person I would think that food would be included, or at least not be an additional 20/person to get some bad/cold food. Thankfully Jamaica was our first destination and I didn't do excursion anywhere else. We loved being able to find our own things to do without waiting on buses or being surrounded by other people. In Cozumel we rented a scooter and rode around the island finding a beach we wanted to hangout in. It was by far our best shore time. Read Less

The ship in general was ok. The rooms were clean and quiet. , and I felt safe. I was disappointed with the food. It wasn't very good, and the majority of the restaurants closed early (after lunch).Which didn't leave much of a choice. After about 3 days I could not eat it anymore. Most everything closed by 12 a.m.. Including the casino . I saw no one win anything. The machines were real tight and that was annoying.. It would have been nice if each floor would have had some sort of refreshment area etc. As it was,, I had to travel 9 floors to get a cup of coffee. You had the option of room service, but at a price. The entertainment was really lame. .Same country singer for days, Overall - Bad food, to much oi a time frame -on and off boat Very expensive overall I wouldn't do it again because I didn't like the structured and timed atmosphere . They could have been more helpful with the first timers with information about the islands in which we were visiting. Read Less
