We chose this cruise out of Galveston, within a reasonable drive from Austin. Also, the itinerary to Key West and Bahamas was enticing as we'd never been to those ports. This is my 6th cruise. I have previously cruised disney, RCL, and carnival. This is my honest opinion and I added in my personal helpful hints. :)
This is my 2nd time on the Dream. It is beautiful ship and so easy to navigate. It was my daughter and I, 18 years old on this Thanksgiving cruise. 8 days with stops in Key West, Freeport, Half Moon Cay, and Nassau.

We normally cruise Royal. We've been wanting to see the Bahamas and like departing from Galveston because we can drive there easily, so we thought we would try Carnival. We really enjoyed our cruse on the Carnival Freedom. The crew was very nice and everything was very clean. The main pool and water slides are also fun. The ship is not huge so the number of people on board is not crazy. So the lines are not to crazy. We choose this cruise because it was stoping at the Bahamas and Keywest.
First lets start by saying that this is one of Carnival older ships. The decor is outdated and the colors are dark. However, the ship was clean, the staff was friendly, and there was plenty to do.
