Corporate should be embarrassed by this ship. Rooms are dated and worn-out as are the public areas. Our cabin steward Magda and Fernando at the Champagne Bar gave excellent service. The rest seemed disonnected, confused and uninformed. Many public areas had off odor of sewage. Public area bathrooms were dirty and unkept. In one bathroom near Johnny Rockets wife had to hold her nose from the sewage smell. Rooms were dated, took me back to a 1980's Holiday Inn this is what they consider Amped up? Sink drain clogged and toilet overflowing into room. Holes in the couch and could someone please clean the A/C vents from all the dust. Food was mediocre at best. Windjammer is fine if you like curry's, mashed potatoes and stews. Who is eating this for lunch? No healthy selections? Main dining room is chaos. Johnny Rocket uniformed staff running around MDR & Chops Grill trying to set tables and waitstaff that seemed as if they were just going through the motions. Ate at Giovannis table on a Wednesday. Had the "signature dish" Osso Bucco. Found the same exact dish on the menu in the main dining room for free on Thursday I don't mind up-charging but I consider that a rip off. Did the Chef leave the ship? Chops Grill ordered the seafood tower did someone forget to order crab claws? Oh yes and the red wine by the glass you ordered we don't have that either. No half n half on the ship for coffee, did they forget to order this? Only milk. Asked for ketchup in MDR at breakfast server said they will see what they can do. Internet is a disgrace no Voom here. Ice skating show, comedian and hypnotist were all excellent shows. Not sure how RCCL corporate can say they AMPED up this ship? Is that by adding Playmakers? We were entertained by the bartenders arguing amongst themselves about who is in a training class? Returned home 15 minutes late no problem until it took 1 hour to get off ship and then Customs for another 1 hour. Two hours to get to curb from the time we got in line to get off. This has never happened in over 25 cruises we have taken. Only 4 people scanning Sea Pass to get off ship their excuse was the ship came in late, complete fiasco. Have they taken all the good staff and moved them up or are they only concentrating on new builds? Fully understand the difference between older vessels and newer vessels but when service standards aren't maintained, interiors aren't upgraded, food is subpar and staff is disorganized one has to wonder did I just get ripped off. My answer is yes. Corporate greed at its best. Never again. Read Less

Ship is nice since it is new. Food and food presentation in the main restaurants desired to be better. For people who used to Celebrity Cruises quality - it is a real shock. Especially dividing passengers using caste system - for elite and everyone else - separate deck, restaurants. Eden was boring and less than entertaining. Entertainment is boring and repetitive. And the last point that you have to pay for many things that use to be free! Infinite cabin looks good but once you open window temperature change in the whole cabin, not like with balcony door. Cabin bathroom design is way above other we have been. Nice TV, but you have to pay for movies to watch on demand. Internet is outrageously expensive, compare to $60 on Princess. Pastries and cakes are very repetitive and not tasty at all compare to Regal Princess. We defiantly will not be coming back for a while. Read Less

We chose this cruise ship as we prefer Celebrity Cruises as they seem to do everything that we love the most. This ship we were excited to sail on during our favorite time of the year "The Thanksgiving Cruise" Hubby does not like to eat turkey thus perfect time for a vacation and me not to cook different meals for me and my better half. From the moment we arrived by taxi you could see that even the Terminal at Port Everglades was special. We came at our arrival time of 1PM. We literally was on the ship in 15 minutes from the curb. The quickest boarding of our lives. Celebrity has it right as we had everything in our phone for easy check in. Credit Card information was done from home as well as check in. Once onboard it was totally different but in a good way the décor was just our speed and has me inspired to redecorate when I get back home. We arrive at our room on the 8th deck forward 8132 to find our keys in a seal envelope. The room itself was the most beautiful as well as practical that we have ever had. Lots of room in the shower and bathroom with marble accents. The soaps were already in the shower and preferred over the individual sized shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. It seemed to be of a very good quality. Please note hair dryer in a drawer under the sink. In the cabin the room was so beautiful you didn't want to leave. In fact there is a big screen tv at the end of the bed with guess what?! Current movies so therefore since I have been on 5 cruises this year alone it was better than any of them. We than tried out the Magic Carpet an had a drink. Service everywhere was great especially if you compare it to land. I could go on about this ship forever. I also think I should even be writing this review as I would love to keep this ship to myself. But hey why not share. Anyway we are already booked for Apex when she arrives next year. I can't even imagine what the improvements will be as this ship was prefect. Note to self always book shore excursions onboard. Booked a Catamaran Snorkeling trip in Cozumel which was by far one of the best we ever had. In Costa Maya we thought we knew better and went to the beach on our own. Big mistake either do not go and stay on the ship or book a beach day through the ship. We were taken for a ride so to speak just happy we are safe and sound now at home. Specialty Restaurants book Brunch on a seas day after you have slept late at the Le Grand Bistro amazing lobster tails, crab claws, mimosas, Bloody Mary's Crepes made to order couldn't even eat the rest of the day. Last night Fine Cut Steakhouse wine list is amazing if they don't have what you are looking for they will find it. Best lamb chops and Brownie Sunday for dessert. Read Less

My husband really wanted to check out this ship. So far we have not been impressed. Gym has no locker room, sauna or steam room. You need to pay $498 per couple to access them. People raved about la Petite dinner. It is a cartoon projected onto your plate not an actual chef as described. Food was ok. Had better meal in Luminae. We have a Butler that is doing the work of two butlers service is good. When you have cruised with someone 5 times in 4 years you would expect some show of appreciation, a bottle of wine? No in room snacks as promised. Our last cruises have been a far better experience. I would expect that a new ship would have their best staff aboard. Casino bartender could not mix their signature drinks so had to wait for other bartenders to make them. Tried 4 of the dining rooms. La Petit chef was described as a virtual chef. It is an animated chef, basically a cartoon. Food was good but not exceptional. Went to magic carpet, described as dining room that moved up and down the outside of the ship. It is stationary. Food was odd, a strange mix of dishes. Fixed menu that is served family style. Food was good but again a strange mix. Service was great. Fine cut steak house was wonderful. What you would expect from a high end steak house. Eden was amazing. The atmosphere was unique and food was presented beautifully and was like nothing I have ever had. We were seated away from the entertainment which was ok with us. I would definitely spend the money for this unique dining experience. Michael's lounge has been replaced with the Retreat lounge. Not the personal formal environment that Michael's is. It is like an airport lounge. Snacks are not available at all times and they will not provide them during the non scheduled times. Not even a bowl of snack mix or nuts. Kids in lounge laying on couches, feet on furniture and being disrespectful to employees maintaining the area. Just not a good experience. We will cruise with celebrity in the future but not on this level of ships. Read Less

My wife and I (71) booked this Caribbean cruise this past June while travelling on a 14 day Holland America Westerdam cruise from Seattle to Alaska. We always book a Interior Cabin. Embarkation at Port Everglades (Ft. Lauderdale) was superb in every way. Arrived at 11:00 by parking shuttle and were on board by noon and it was extremely easy with minimal waiting and friendly staff. Luggage was in our room shortly thereafter. Our Cabin 8060 was very quiet. Only disappointment was that there was no Love Seat like we had on our Alaska cruise. Being on the 8th deck was handy to Lido on 9th deck. Acep and Alex looked after us very well. We choose table for 2 at 8:00 p.m. First night dining at Table 3 for late dining on deck 3 was disappointing due to location next to noisy serving station and one of 2 seats staring into a wall. We asked for a change and Maître D Karay moved us to Table 4 which was the best thing to happen on cruise as we were served by two of the best DR Stewards ever, Win and Sidi. They made every night a special event for us in so many ways. We can’t thank them enough and it seemed that every other table they looked after had the same feeling based upon our last night and talking to several of our fellow diners in that section. Dining Room food was absolutely excellent in every respect. My wife loves fish for every meal and she was very pleased with every meal. I love beef and the filet, prime rib and N.Y. sirloin were cooked to perfection, tender and tasty. Every meal was a 10++ and the food was complimented by excellent service by Win and Sidi. Maître D Karay checked on us every evening. Entertainment, or lack thereof, was a big disappointment especially after our previous cruise. Six person dance group were phenomenal supported by amazing audio visual backup. They performed twice and we enjoyed their talents. On the Wednesday Sea Day there was no show in the main theatre, no BB Kings Blues, nothing! Another night they showed a movie of Holland America history, sorry not interested and many others I talked to were also disappointed. Comedian and Illusionist each had separate shows then were teamed up for Friday but show started at 9:00 p.m. rather than regular 9:30 so missed that as you can’t attend with only an hour for dinner on a last night. I doubt we would have attended as neither of them were very entertaining. So out of 7 nights we only enjoyed 2 nights with the dancers. This really isn’t acceptable to us. BB Kings Blues 6 person band and 2 singers were excellent and I went to several shows. I spoke to Cruise Director Rachel about entertainment issues and it appeared that we likely weren’t alone in our criticism although she didn’t say that, only to voice our concerns. Ship was in excellent condition with nothing of note to criticize. All staff were absolutely amazing, hard to believe how they can operate at that level for 8 straight months. Microsoft Seminar I attended was spoiled by wonky WiFi. They should utilize a canned PowerPoint presentation as a backup in such cases as it appeared to be a regular problem. Enjoyed all the stops, Key West, Grand Turk, Amber Cove and Half Moon Cay. We did Self Assist Debarkation. It went smoothly but only 3 US Customs Officers seemed to be on duty which was insufficient IMHO and wait time was somewhat annoying but still okay. Park by Ports shuttle was at exit and we were at our car at 8:30 p.m. We booked on-board for same ship for next year at Thanksgiving on western Caribbean and hopefully entertainment will improve by then. This was our first cruise on HAL. We typically cruise on Norwegian or Royal Caribbean but got an outstanding deal on this cruise so we decided to give HAL a try. I would say that overall we really enjoyed the cruise and felt that it was a very good experience for the price. There were some things that I felt exceeded expectations and a few that feel a bit short of our desires. We knew going in that HAL tends to cater to an older audience so we expected the feel to be a bit reserved. My wife and I are certainly not party animals. On the positive side we generally liked the music aboard. It was nice to actually know the songs (mainly classic rock and country) but they could have been a bit more beach party especially at the sail away party and by the pool deck. The main stage shows were okay but certainly less than we had experienced on other lines. The first dance show was great and the illusionist was good but the comedian wasn't good at all and the second dance show was sort of boring. We really did enjoy the music walk. The BB King band was great. They played some great R and B with some blues and rock thrown in. The Lincoln Center stage classical concerts were very good as well. The Billboard piano bar was ok. As for the food we thought that overall the food was very good. We booked any time dining in the main dining room. The food quality was good but not awesome and we found that there was always a long line to get into the main dining room and once in we experienced a long delay in getting our order taken and between courses. So on the third day we switched to eating our meals on the Ledo deck. We were very happy with this choice. They offered a wide selection on the buffet, the food was fresh and the service was actually very pleasant. We were in cabin 1027 which is a catigory F ocean view room. The cabin was fine. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was nice. Lots of storage. Nice window with an unobstructed view. We heard only a little bit of noise from the music venue above us but it wasn't bad at all. Our cabin steward was good. Read Less

I have never experienced a more boring cruise than this one. The same selected songs got replayed over and over and over until my head hurt. Some crew members seemed like they didn’t really want to be there, some had attitudes or didn’t want to help. The 3 crew members that stood out to me were Ruel, Nissan and this one guy that i don’t remember his name but he was usually in the icecream station, very nice and kind people. The comedians that were there said some offensive things to the point where people wouldn’t even laugh. Things are barely announced, you never really know about things unless you ask a million questions. Things are also super expensive, when in others you can find them for way more reasonable prices. I can say the best thing there was the wide selection of great movies in the room, where I mostly spent my time because of how boring the ship is. Also, our bathroom smelled STRONGLY like urine when we got to the room. We notified Nissan and he said he’d clean it more but when we came back it still smelled horrible, it stayed that way the whole voyage. The disembarkation took longer than it should’ve, they kept saying there was a delay. There’s only 2 complimentary restaurants, everything else is money money and more money. All you could drink was water, super watery lemonade or no flavor whatsoever “iced tea”. I was so happy to come back home, will most likely never again step a foot on their cruises. Read Less

They have royal babies and tots from ages 6 months to 36 months and other stuff for other age groups. Mini golf for the family to enjoy. Shows in the royal theater which I loved. They have a lot of activities for childs.. They also have movie showing on deck. Laser tag to enjoy and a big arcade room, and ice skating shows to enjoy also, disco and a parade in the royal promenade. Our 3 yrs old son enjoyed it. A special thank you to Mr. Tayfun, Mrs. Kim, Mr. Sanket, Mr. Erhan, and our cleaning guy. They went over and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our trip. They did an outstanding job. We chose this cruise because our original cruise to Cuba had been cancelled due to a travel ban. This cruise was suggested to us by royal Carribean and it was around the same price with 2 more additional days. So we figured it was a good deal. We ported out of Fort Lauderdale and the check in process was fairly normal, no issues.Once we finally boarded the ship is when we noticed the lack of luxury. The decor was super dated, the entrance was small and the ship was quiet. No happy vacation vibes, no vacation drinks it was a underwhelming lobby with sales people ready to sell you one some plan that will better "enhance our experience". Since our rooms were not ready we decided to go the the food area and grab some lunch and lounge around. The eating are was small, and jammed packed. The food options were very limited and no fresh food being made by order. Once we grabe a cheese plate and a side salad, we sat by a window and quickly noticed it was so dirty that we could not see out of it. There were stains on the walls and parts of he walls and ceiling were being held up with duck tape. The workers walk table to table trying to get people to sign up for tours and sushi classes that cost extra money. After the 7th person came to the table asking us to sign up for the same sushi class that we kept declining I knew this was going to be a long 5 days. After eating we got to room and was immediately hit with the strong smell of sewage. Our room was abnormally small. and there was rust lime and calcium everywhere you looked. In every crease of the bathroom there was brown reddish rust. The mirrors had stains on them. The carpet look like it needed to be cleaned bad. The piping under the sink where they placed the floor towels had green mold-ish lings growing on it and the doorways were completely rusted out. It was what I imagine a Super 8 motel at a truck stop would look like, and smell like. TERRIBLE!. So of course I quickly gathered my things and me and my husband went to customer service and requested a room changes. The old us that the ship was booked and there were no other rooms available. I asked if the room could be cleaned. They told me that they would take hot water and come and clean my room after they had come in and inspected it, I was appalled because just hot water alone was not going to fix the rust and lime build up.And the sewage smell never left. All this took place in just the first 4 hours of being on board. The overall customer service sucked. They were trying to nickel and dime people to death. The food was terrible. the elevators didn't work. the windows were dirty ,and the lawn chairs were old and broken. This was my first royal Caribbean cruise, I normally cruise Carnival. and I was very disappointed,. Read Less

Pockets of good and bad service made the cruise average or less. Good to excellent were the stateroom attendant, bar tenders, casino staff, Steamers upcharge venue (add the lobster and crab for $12 more), and Ray Coussins on piano! Poor were the dining rooms for spotty service and errors in billing drinks; at least the food was good... Also the Ocean Medallion system did not work well except to unlock the stateroom door from 5 feet away. I was hoping to order drinks from any location but it was often not available or hard to get the order right. Food ordered with it arrived dried out and cold. Probably it’s best use was to locate cruise mates who allowed location sharing. The layout of the ship is good with 4 pools to choose from. The itinerary was boring except for swimming with the stingrays in Grand Cayman. Holding a ray as big as me made the whole cruise worth it. That said, we’ve decided our next cruise will be an all inclusive medium sized ship like Seabourn offers. Read Less

My son (13) & I went on Majesty 11/20 thru 11/25...had a FANTASTIC TIME!!!! Easy on & easy off... Lots to do on her, small with a huge heart! Love this ship & the amazing Crew she has! We had an ocean view room port side very near the bow, our stateroom attendant Merlin, was amazing, always greeted us with huge smile & very attentive. Our room was VERY comfortable & plenty spacious for the two of us...he's 5'8", I'm 4'11" in height & circumference LOL & STILL we had more than enough room. MDR food was fantastic, the staff, top notch :-) Windjammer & Sorrento's made us happier than happy for all our meals! Something there for everyone, again, the waitstaff...GREAT! The shows were fun & exciting...great performers & performances, the orchestra was GREAT! Music in Bolero's (Latin) was GREAT, I just Love me so Spanish music!! They had a guitarist in the Schooner Bar, who played a lot of the songs my son is trying to learn, so he REALLY enjoyed THAT!!! Veteran's Salute was a beautiful ceremony to recognize Military, past & present, as well as emergency response personnel, we were even lucky enough to be traveling with a WWII Vet. The ONLY HUGE complaint I have is...I had to get off the ship to go home :-( I was NOT happy about THAT at all! Read Less

This was our 21st cruise, and 6th with Royal Caribbean. The cruise exactly met our expectations. The ship, food, entertainment, and service were all standard fare. Royal Caribbean runs a good operation, and everything ran smooth and on-time. The ship is a bit old and worn without any bells and whistles, but that did not detract from the cruise. Cabins are a bit smaller and more sparse than usual. The food was consistently good, albeit uninspired. The food was "old fashioned" in the sense of your traditional American meat and potatoes, with little for the more modern plant-based, whole grain type eaters. Ethnic food was pretty much limited to Indian, which was generally prepared well. The entertainment staff did the usual trivia, contests, etc. and the production staff did their two mediocre shows. Again, standard cruise ship fare, with the comedian making stale jokes about how small the rooms are the the guy who juggled stuff and made (pretty funny) jokes. They did the disco party with YMCA, the love and marriage game show asking the strangest place the couples made whoopie, the belly flop contest, etc. All very predictable. The only real standout of the cruise was Simon James, the piano guy in Schooners, who had the bar rocking every evening. He obliged with Piano Man every night, and it made me think, man what is he doing here with his extraordinary talent and energy level. The service was consistently good, but certainly not with the attention to detail of Princess or Holland America. The fellow passengers were a diverse mix of ages, races, languages spoken, etc. and everyone got along very well on this fairly small ship. There were a lot of Floridians lured by low last-minute prices. I don't mean to leave a negative review. I think this experience would be great for a first-timer to see what a "regular" cruise looks like. We cruise a fair amount and so we like a "regular" cruise with a good price tag. This cruise certainly fit the bill, although I doubt there will be much of it that we will remember. I would certainly do it again for an inexpensive getaway to relax and recharge the batteries. Just got off the Reflection on a great cruise. With some small hiccups overall but nothing that was easily rectified. I had 2 aft cabins 9380/82 which was great opening the divider between them. The views were terrific and never any issue with soot or to much sun, very little overhang on them. The deck has a small table and yes they have the much debated leg/foot rests there. It was always a great relaxing view to be seen. The cabin itself was a cabin, not the biggest but plenty of room to store everything with left over space. Cabin attendant Collin was one of the best I have ever had. Very attentive, room was always clean when I came back from breakfast and turned down after dinner. He was very friendly and able to accommodate the requests we had. The walk was never an issue from the elevators and actually was most welcome all the time. Overall the ship was in wonderful shape. I did notice a little wear and tear in some seating, but the strange thing was they were replaced when I went back. They are doing a great job on the overall preventive maintenance on the ship. Tables were cleared very quickly in the Oceanview and at Café al Bacio. Yes there were some times when the Café was overwhelmed with people playing cards and just reading at the tables which made it unfortunate not to get a table. The staff there new my morning and evening orders by heart by day 2. English breakfast tea in morning, and African Solstice in the evening after dinner. Middle of day was mix of whatever I found interesting, cappuccino, americano etc. The shows were all entertaining that I went to and enjoyed them fully. The different musicians, house band etc were all very good and entertaining. Opus was very good when I ate there, also ate a bunch of times in the Oceanview. Sunny, waiter, and the Sommelier, forgot her name, were both great and very attentive and helped me out with different selections for food and wine. Oceanview was a step up from past cruises in different foods. The Thanksgiving extravaganza was well done, personally I ate the stir fry that day. Overall I found this to be one of the most attentive staffs on the 11 cruises I have been on. Not sure how to explain it but the service just seemed a step up overall from my last few cruises, mostly celebrity. Not that there was anything wrong with others but this one just was wonderful an friendly. Stops Grand Cayman, Tendered in and wandered thru town. Been here many times and overall just enjoy the vibe of the island. Did have a good laugh, we had the typical rain storm in the Caribbean ie10 minutes and sun comes out. I was wandering back to the tender during this, everyone else was running because of the rain, me just walked. I got soaked, a couple people asked me why I didn't run back or why the rain didn't bother me. I was like, well by the time we tender back to the ship Ill probably be dry, which I was except for a few spots on my shirt. It was a warm rain and refreshing anyway Cartagena, Columbia What a wonderful city. Did a tour with Dora the Explorer, off ship excursion and highly recommend a tour with her. Its a city, its hot and gets crowded. its also has a lot of history and wonderful architecture in the old city. She is very entertaining and friendly, highly recommend it. Colon, Panama Port is a work in progress, in 2 years I say this will be a great stop, there is a lot of construction going on. Others in my group went on some tours and were very enjoyable they said. I did the ship day thing and loved it. Costa Rica Fun beautiful stop. Did a chocolate and Canal tour. Was fun interesting and very hot. Saw sloths, howler monkeys and more. Great stop Costa Maya Mexico Port is fun maze, did Maya Chan off ship beach. Will go back again very easily. Just read the TripAdvisor reviews there is noting I can say wrong with the place. Yes the road there is a dirt road along the ocean and it has potholes. Its Mexico. Its part of the charm. Cozumel. Wandered around port bought stuff lots of ships in very busy overall great deals Embarkation Had a notice the week before the cruise about delay on boarding. This was due to the transatlantic journey it was coming from. No issues went on board around 1 ish with no problems Disembarkation. Well this was interesting, not the fault of Celebrity, day after Thanksgiving and guessing Customs was short handed. There were long lines for people who were not US citizens. This caused delays and at 945 finally they told everyone to start leaving. Walked thru customs with a quick look at passports and done. Uber/Ride share was a breeze to get and off to airport for flight home. Read Less

Here's the quick and dirty. (Scroll down for further details) CABINS: 7022 & 7020 (neighboring balconies port bow deck 7) PORTS: 7 Nights - Ft Lauderdale, Coco Cay, Cozumel, Costa Maya, Nassau (a substitute for Honduras), and back to Ft Lauderdale PERSPECTIVE: 4 adults ages ranging from 42-70. 2 of the 4 have cruised before. 2 of the 4 were first time cruisers. My Time Dining & Deluxe Drink Package CONS: • Ship felt continually crowded • Big ship = LOTS of walking • Bad logistics & crowd management during RCI booked shore excursion in Nassau • Room steward was meh • Reservation policy for dinner/entertainment was awful • Inadequate seating in the Windjammer Buffet • Lines, lines, and more lines • App was unreliable PROS: • Nice stateroom - loved the large (for cruise ships) shower • Food & dining/bar service was both delicious and terrific • Ship was clean • Lots of neat things to do on board • Embarkation & debarkation were a breeze • Guest services staff were very accommodating • Really smart muster drill There were 4 of us on this trip: Hubs and I (4 previous cruises) and my folks (both first time cruisers). We stayed in 7022 and 7020 - both balconies on port bow side. As much as I scoured the RCI website, I couldn't find adjoining rooms so we settled for neighboring rooms. Rooms were nice - lots of storage options, ac worked well, clean room. Beds were a little firm for all of us. We met our room steward once and never saw him again. 2 of the nights we had no towel animals. But, room was always clean and restocked with the necessities. The embarkation and debarkation were incredibly smooth and easy. Very little standing in lines. I think the whole process took maybe 30mins for on and again for off. Really impressed! LOVED the muster drill RCI had set up. Instead of our muster station being some nondescript corridor or unmarked door, ours was the comedy club. This made it #1 easy to remember, #2 made us feel better prepared in the event of an actual emergency since we'd know exactly where to go, #3 no standing outside in the sun. In addition, RCI stores life jackets at the muster station so no more wasted closet space. The talk was actually a short but somewhat entertaining video. All these things combined actually made the muster drill enjoyable.....as unbelievable as that may seem. The RCI policy of onboard reservations has got to go. It was frustrating, led you to believe there was no availability, and in the end resulted in 1st come 1st serve anyhow. If you're unfamiliar with the reservations policy, keep reading & I'll explain, otherwise, skip to the next paragraph. So if you plan your day - like on sea days - if you have my time dining, you're encouraged to make a reservation. And to attend all of the shows, you're encouraged to make a reservation. The problem is, we didn't encounter any availability via the App. Reservations then required a trip to guest services. I'm on vacation. I really don't want to spend my time waiting in line & I suspect you don't either. IF you're lucky enough to secure reservations then you must arrive to the event 15mins prior to start time. You'll be allowed entrance to pick your seat. 10mins before start time, ushers open the doors to the "public" who then come choose their seats. So basically, RCI just way over complicated the concept of 1st come 1st serve. Ugh - a total pain so buyer beware! The food and drinks were wonderful. Tasty, unique, well presented, with a nice variety. The service was equally wonderful. Everyone was genuinely happy to help & put you right at ease. This was the first time we ever did the alcohol drink package and holy crap it made such a difference! We're converts and will definitely be upgrading from now on. It was wonderful to not have that twinge of guilt for ordering a 2nd drink or minding the budget every day. This was the first cruise we've ever been on which felt continually crowded. Even though the ship is huge, too big actually, it still felt constantly crowded. This had a major toll on the 4 of us. We were more irritable, snippy, and worn out from navigating the constant crowds. Our experience may have been skewed as an international (mostly Spanish speaking and European) health care company out of Canada was on this cruise. They numbered over 1,200 employees plus their friends and family members who joined them. I've traveled a lot and have found very few other cultures who seem to understand/respect American's "personal space". As a result, all week long not only was it crowded but your little my own space bubble was invisible and constantly overrun. Very exhausting. The Blue Planet and Ocenaria shows were terrific! Don't bother with the ice show. It felt dated and is desperately ready for a revamp. This ship has a lot of fun things to do. In addition to the plethora of bars & upcharge restaurants, there was the zip line, which my 67 year old Mom did, rock climbing, the flowrider surfing things, fun games of adult dodgeball, putt putt golf, a really neat kiddy pool, a carousel, and our favorites an adult only solarium with pool & 2 hot tubs, and an outdoor garden area called Central Park. That's the good news about this ship. The bad news is, it's so big it's actually difficult to navigate. For ships this large, why not install people movers like the moving sidewalks at an airport, or a looping cable car system, or how about a looping hop on hop off train? The massive ship required massive amounts of walking and by the end of the week, all 4 of us had tired & swollen feet, ankles, and calves. We just vegged on the bench at Coco Cay. Unfortunately, our view from the shaded lounge chairs was blocked by a row of big beach beds. All of which went unused. Such a waste. Couldn't they leave the platform there and erect the bed once it's booked? From previous Holland America experience at Half Moon Cay where the hubs and I reserved and enjoyed a private cabana, RCI's beach beds and cabanas are sorely overpriced which is probably what rendered the beach beds unused. Seems like such a waste for all. Also, we found the food on Coco Cay lacking. It's a big buffet with limited choices. However, food wasn't kept warm and items weren't replenished in a timely manner, leaving you to scurry from station to station to complete your plate. Had RCI offered a sit down option, even for an upcharge, we would have jumped at it. The good news about Coco Cay was the full island transportation - so wonderful not to have to walk after being on the ship for a few days! We did the Monster Jeep excursion in Cozumel and it was fantastic! Oscar and Irwin were our guides and they were excellent! So much fun. Highly recommend! We didn't even get off the ship in Costa Maya as it was raining all day. At Nassau, which was a substitute stop for Honduras announced this summer due to propeller problems, we did the Sea Lion Encounter. The encounter itself was terrific! The logistics, however, were a nightmare! The excursion was an RCI excursion on Blue Lagoon. The Blue Lagoon (BL) staff all wore bright orange shirts but you couldn't see them because there were so many people. BL staff didn't carry or use signs so you had no idea where you were supposed to be. And the BL staff didn't use megaphones so you couldn't hear them. The walk to the ferry was quite long, particularly for folks like my Dad with arthritic knees. No alternative transportation was available for folks with mobility issues. The lining up for the ferry ride back and getting through "security" at the port was just as much a mess. Given this experience, I have no desire to ever return to Nassau. All in all, this was a "just ok" for us cruise which was kind of disappointing since this was a 1st cruise for both of my folks. Given the opportunity, I wouldn't sail on the Allure again. And, as a result of this cruise, we will make sure to choose smaller ships in the future. Read Less

Overall, great experience! Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Restaurant staff in Main Dining (waiters Raj & Richard) were the most accommodating, friendliest and welcoming guys ever! There were some aspects of the ship which are due for renovations (coming Spring ‘21): spots in carpet, stains in some booth seat backs, and some wear marks on chairs in main dining room. Otherwise, the ship was immaculate. It did not have an “old” or “outdated” feel at all. The dining room and theaters were all very modern. The shows were decent—musical show was probably more geared toward 50+ crowd, but still nicely done. Ice skating was good—not as nice as Oasis class ships, but still put together well. Room was A+. No complaints at all with mattresses (I read they just replaced them this month). Storage space in room was larger than in Oasis-class ships. Bathroom was as expected. Only 2 electrical outlets in entire room though, so be prepared. Overall, this was a great experience. Read Less

My son's wanted to try this really big ship. This was our first Royal Caribbean cruise. We just got off yesterday 11/24. Previously have done many on Princess, Celebrity, Carnival, and Holland. So I can compare. First, the good,Allure is a really cool ship. They have activities other ships don't have like the flow rider, zip line, and rock wall out side. The water theater is amazing and so was the show. They had to end it 10 minutes early because of the rain. But it was still awesome. Studio B has the ice skating show as well, very good. The Amber theater is large and had good shows as well. Our room was overlooking Central Park. Which I really enjoyed. It is a real garden. Generally, it is pretty quiet area which I like. The room was plenty big enough for 2 of us. We really enjoyed the Captain and officers questions and answers hour. Captain John was really cool. They are very efficient at managing a lot of people getting on and off the boat. Now for the not so good. There are just too many people over 6200+. Crowds are especially apparent in the buffet, all the time, and on the promenade. There are 2 central elevator areas forward and aft. Each with 12. They are mostly full all day except very early or late in the day.The buffet food is just not that good. It is the same every single day! Windjammer buffet is also way to small for the number of people on board. Plus they have limited hours that other cruise lines do not have. The whole thing closes at 3 pm or sometimes at 330 and they don't open again until 6 pm. That's ridiculous. We ate at 3 of the specialty restaurant. The best was 150 Central Park. Everything was delicious. Chops was very good. Steak was perfect. the mac and cheese was bland, tasteless. Side order of asparagus which they said was for 2 had only 6 spears. Izumi was only fair. for sushi. They do not know how to do the rice. It was mushy, looking more like cream of wheat, just not done right. The sashimi was not sliced properly. My son watched as he sawed it back and forth. Maybe we are snobs when it comes to sushi, but hey they are charging a sizable amount, it should be good. The dining room dinners were mostly good. Only liked 1 dessert there all week. If I am planning a cruise RC would not be my choice. Mostly because of the food and the crowd. If someone else is planning and chooses RC, sure I'll go. It wasn't horrible just not that great of food. Read Less

We just did a back to back cruise in late November. We got everything we hoped for. This was our sixth time in a row on the Equinox. Why? Because we get what we want. We knew the ports of call were not ideal when we booked. We're jaded anyway! Costa Maya and Samana are sewers and you should not even leave the ship. We had no idea families would travel on Thanksgiving. Some children should not be allowed in public. You cannot ask more of the crew. They will do anything possible for you and be glad to do it. Happy, happy, happy. Also, we've never seen happier cruisers; everyone was so warm and friendly. We eat for health and they baked special 100% whole grain bread for us daily!!! For normal American diets they have endless beef, pork, lamb, chicken, turkey, duck, oxtail and goat. Seriously. Breakfast is a full array of anything you want. Lunch is a delight. Sit down dinner is the star of the show, or you can go to the buffet. The ship is immaculate. The internet was strong and we watched DirecTV and movies online. The gym is stunning and I'm a gym rat. We did not take any shore excursions and you have to be careful with them on ALL lines. As Elite members we got some very nice perks. Don't waste your money on Concierge; we got a free upgrade. If you read CruiseCritic you'll see the best of lines are failing in quality. This isn't. Read Less

I chose this cruise as it was apart of a continuing education seminar and a vacation. The embarkation was quick for us and for our traveling partners, as we did get the app and checked in through the app as soon as it was available. We did show up exactly when they told us too at 11:30 am. It was NOT a hassle getting into an elevator when first boarding ship as most people talk about. We went straight to our cabin 9140 to collect our sea pass cards which they put outside of your cabin. We were able to drop off our luggage. I was happy about being able to access the cabin before it was ready at 1pm, who wants to carry stuff around for hours. We were pleasantly surprised how nice it was for an interior cabin, and I was not upset that we didn't splurge on a balcony cabin. It was small, but very comfortable! We never heard anyone walking around outside of our cabin. We were behind the elevators, and only heard them now and again, but so quiet you have to really listen to hear it. Not disturbing at all. The bed was more comfortable than our mattress at home. Yes we must have a poor mattress. LOL I was told if you wanted a topper you could ask for it, but we didn't need to. The bathroom was spacious enough for all our things, and yes I did bring an over the door shoe holder and glad that I did, because I over packed with the "may need items" that included medications and such. All of that would not have been able to be put away in the bathroom. There are over the bed cabinets, shelves in the closet, smaller shelves on each side of the bed, so lots of space to put everything away. We did over pack clothing as I hate wearing things twice, and love wearing dresses, so when I called and requested extra hangers they brought them. It was only five, so thank you Celebrity for giving me extra hangers. That was nice that I could hang up all my clothes that needed hangers. : ) Our steward kept the room nice and clean each day and even made sure we had a nice cold pitcher of water available at all times, just as I requested. The cruise director made the muster drill entertaining and it didn't take very long. He was a very exciting type of person with lots of energy and was also apart of the entertainment. He and the captain had a little skit going throughout the cruise that was quite funny. There were many opportunities to meet and greet the ships crew, and that was nice. We even got a couple of pictures with the captain. I liked that very much. Makes for good memories. We did have first night dining at Murano, which was an amazing experience. Table side preparation was great. But.... it was slightly difficult to understand our table chef due to her thick accent. She was wonderful and polite, but when you can't understand what they are saying you miss out on all the interesting explanation about the food. We also ate at Tuscon Grille on last night. This also was a wonderful place and I think I liked it better than Murano! We chose this for a quiet/ romantic dinner. Warning! The portions are huge! So when it says half sizes available... do order half if you are choosing several dishes to try. My Filet mignon was out of this world and also a huge portion (was glad about that and ate it all). When we first boarded the ship we did go straight to the main dining to see where we were sitting. We asked for a window seat and they accommodated us. We were early dining and did catch about 1/2 hour of sunset each evening. Very nice! The food was very good and I was never disappointed. Our wait staff were so pleasant! We were slightly crazy individuals, played music from our cell phones and they actually danced to our table. Wonderful! I also made it to the main dining to eat lunch at least three times on the cruise and I recommend eating in the main dinning as much as you can. We ate only one night at the buffet. I found the food to be ok and what you would expect at a buffet. It was clean and food was fresh. I did eat there for breakfast as I like an assortment of items. We ate one morning at the Spa Cafe, but only once, very healthy and small portions, did not eat there again, but hardly anyone there so if your looking for quick bite to eat before getting to shore do go there. The late night offering for us night owls was lacking at the buffet. They close most of it down early. We ended up ordering late night food in our cabin about every night. Yes there is a 4.50 charge for this each time, but I'm on vacation so I splurged! The menu offering is small, but nice portion size and very good! The service was also fast! I do have to say that overall nothing was overly spiced or seasoned. We wondered if this was to accommodate on an even palate. I imagine its hard to serve so many different tastes. Ok--- alcohol time.....we did have classic drink package perk, then upgraded to premium. It was worth it for that little upgrade of over 80 dollars each! We were able to try everything our hearts desired from dinner drinks/wines to exotic looking cocktails and martini drinks galore, all in that price. That in itself was a great experience as I usually don't venture out of my normal cocktails. Now in saying this I don't think I would ever pay for a drink package outright as it's to expensive and not worth the money of 500-600 dollars. There was something about the alcohol too, as I usually only have 3 mixed drinks and I'm done. But somehow I was able to drink a ton, and I was only tipsy. I find this very strange, and I was not the only passenger who mentioned this without bringing it up in conversation. Also, I did not see an overly drunk person on the ship, not once. Thank goodness no drunk people and maybe watered down alcohol is the key?? With all you can drink I expected to see some who drank to much, but not a one! Extra stuff I purchased was the Mixology class, and martini flight. My only complaint is they don't tell you when or where to go to do these things. I missed out on the mixology class, but my husband was able to take my seat...gee I wanted to do that! A letter arrived at the cabin late on the day of the event. I was already in my conference, but if I knew about it in advanced I would have left the conference for the 1/2 hour and had my experience. At least my husband had a blast! : ( I also signed up for the glass blowing class which was cool! But...only knew what to do by calling and asking about it. Now one reached out to me about any of these extras that I purchased. Better communication needs to be implemented concerning time/dates or just general info. When I went to have my martini flight they could not see this on my account. I had to go back to my room to get my receipt and show the bartender (thank goodness I copied all my receipts and brought them with me)!! But who wants to argue over money while in the moment. I also purchased flowers for my me and our friends in another cabin to be there on the embarkation day. It was not there when we arrived! Another bummer! I had to call and ask for them. But... when they arrived they were fresh and wonderful. They lasted the whole cruise! I actually hated to leave them behind. The entire ship was very clean and elegant. I was impressed by the decor. The service was wonderful, and I didn't have to go out of my way to ask for what I needed except for what I already mentioned. We had our favorites on the ship and did keep going back because of how we were treated by them. To help you remember their names take pictures of their name tags with your phone. They need good reviews those who really give good service. The entertainment was good too. I would say sit up close, as its much more intimate experience and makes it more of a show stopper! I was only put out by one person during this cruise and it was a DJ. No one was dancing, very few people in the sky lounge and I requested to have top radio dance hits played, and he said "you want me to play the same set I played down stairs? No, I'm not going to do that." I was floored! I felt like telling that guy off, I mean.... I'm the guest....don't say no to a guest! Me and my new Canadian friend were the "only two" on the dance floor and unhappy about the "club" music he was playing. That person needs some education and training about keeping people happy on a cruise that costs a lot of money! Play what I want gosh dang it! Not what you want! It seems small, but that is all that is needed to ruin your night. I left shortly after that. Thumbs down for that Celebrity! My only other real complaint for this cruise..... Please Celebrity quit the massive up-selling. It was a terrible- annoying turn off. All the brochures about shopping at our cabin and in the news letter too. Just ridiculous. Please change this. This made me NOT think "upscale". There just has to be another way of letting cruise guests know about the shopping and up-sells other than the way you do it now. So... overall we truly enjoyed our first experience on a cruise and happy that it was Celebrity. We will be back, but we are going to try out other cruise lines. Read Less

Excellent ship, food, staff, service, never felt crowed, very organized getting on and off the ship. Loved being on the 6th Level, close to the Cafe below which was amazing (though a bit dark at times could use a bit more light there)...Alot to do, without over doing it, and feeling like you missed out on something. Entertainment as well was great, enjoyed the Paul McCartney show and Comedian as well as other shows. I picked this particular ship as we had never cruised Celebrity, rather then picking by the destinations, but to our surprise, Key West, Mexico and Grand Cayman Islands were more then we expected, The specialty were fantastic. Tuscan Grill was our favorite we could have gone again, but they were booked. Murano was good as well, we went at 6pm and the service was amazing. If your looking for rock climbing, skating rink, slides, this is not the cruise for you, if you want excellent service, food, entertainment and a relaxing holiday, this is the ship for you....again Quality, not Quantity. First Celebrity cruise, but definitely not the last., and we are looking forward to our next cruise on Celebrity. Read Less

I was on this cruise due to a work conference. We had meetings each morning and on our sea day but then were free to explore the ship and ports. Due to the weather we were unable to dock at Key West. I was impressed with how quickly the staff completely changed our meeting etc... with only a couple of hours notice. We ended up stopping at Nassau a day early and added CocoCay on our last day. Having cruised on several different but mostly larger ships, I was worried that the Majesty would be too small. I actually enjoyed the size of the ship as everything was close to walk to. The atrium area looked really nice with some small shops. If I would have been on a regular cruise I think the entertainment would have been a little lacking but we were busy with meetings and didn't really notice. Everything was very clean and I though the service everywhere was really good. I though the decor was pretty inside the ship - unlike my most recent Carnival cruise where the decor was incredible ugly and dated IMO. Had a "spacious ocean view" cabin on the 9th floor. The room was very clean with enough storage but was quite small. I would hate to see how small a regular room would be. Our room steward was Cheryl who was awesome! I brought an over the door shoe hanger which helped with shoes and cosmetic storage as there is VERY limited storage in the bathroom. The beds were comfy and the air conditioning worked well. We had a large group for dinner each night so we never had the same servers. Some of the service teams were great, others not so much. The dining room food was okay with a couple of standout dishes (beef tenderloin and apple pie). The buffet breakfast was ok but the scrambled eggs were awful! The only extra dining option was Johnny Rockets which was ok. There are no other extra cost dining options - miss the sushi and seafood options on the Mariner. There are also the freestyle soda machines right by the coffee shop and also upstairs in the buffet area. If you have a chance to to to CocoCay - do it! It was fabulous with a nice included lunch and some good shopping. The fresh water pool was amazing and you could always find a waiter for a drink (we did have an use the drink package!). I am an avid DCL cruiser and I actually liked it a bit more than Castaway, especially now that you can dock on the island. Overall a nice cruise - especially for the price! Read Less

We are a late 40s couple, this was our 3rd cruise - second time on a Celebrity ship, and have after this cruise we have decided to become #CelebritySnobs We like the upscale feel Celebrity offers without having the upscale stuck up attitude, they keep things light. Embarkation was very easy, we showed up early(9.45am) and got on at 10.50am We had balcony room 8343 Cat.1A which had a slightly larger balcony, room was very clean plenty of storage space & hangers, 2 bathrobes, decent water pressure in shower, comfortable bed, and room was very quiet - we would definitely take this room again. We had premium plus package(access to mini-bar, 4 bottles of wine, $100USD casino credit cost us $164CDN) and would also take this again. We pre-purchased 3 specialty restaurant dining with our onboard credit ($300CDN), not sure we would do that again. Disembarkation went well, we kept our luggage in our room, went for buffet breakfast @ 6.15am and then lined-up on deck 5 at 6.45am and left ship at 7.10am, we were at FLL airport by 7.50am FOOD - Overall food quality and presentation is 4/5. We had breakfast & lunch daily at OceanView buffet, plenty of choices. Best breakfast items; fresh eggs/omelettes/waffles Best lunch picks; Porchetta(the real deal!), roast, guacamole(daily), good pizza. Only did the Master Grill (hamburgers/hot-dogs,etc.) once because buffet always had so many good choices..and hamburgers are very good. MainDining Room - Lots to chose from every evening, and of good quality. The odd night that I did not like a specific dish I informed my waiter and ordered another dish. Again, the food was not bad, this was me not liking it(personal taste) and being picky. Same thing with desserts, some are better then others so just ask for another one until you find one you like! Specialty Restaurants; Tuscan Grill, this might sound weird but it's not "Italian enough". Most food was missing taste, and it was just OK, not better then food in MDR - so would not return. Le Petit Chef, unique 'must do once' experience and the food is good! Murano....excellent. True specialty restaurant on all fronts, presentation/food quality/service. I would eat here every night if I could afford it :) DRINKS/COFFEE; inconsistent Mixed drinks are hit/miss depending on the bar & person behind the bar. Again, why complain? If you have the drink package just order another drink or move to another bar! They have a wide variety of beers(including Peroni) & decent selection of Vodka & Scotch Cafe AlBacio has good coffee, if you are espresso lover make sure you ask for it 'ristretto' as 'short espresso' equals that crap yo get at Starbucks. SERVICE; Very Good. Room steward & wait staff always doing their very best to accommodate with a smile. Cruise Director & staff, awesome and kept everyone laughing and relaxed. Captain Tasos, love this guy! He is too funny(dry humor) If you have any question please email me JValente_ca@Yahoo.ca Read Less

This was our first Celebrity Cruise. We have cruised on Carnival 3 times and Royal 3 times. We were so impressed with Celebrity that our next cruise will be on Celebrity! The decor was fresh and modern, the service was outstanding, the food and entertainment was the best we've had on a cruise. We booked a concierge veranda cabin because concierge didn't cost more. I'm not sure that I would pay extra because the perks didn't seem worth an extra charge. We arrived at the cruise terminal around 11:20 and were on the ship in 15 minutes. We skipped the embarkation lunch and ate at the buffet because we wanted to be outside. We loved the outdoor eating area aft of the oceanview cafe and ate there several times for breakfast and lunch. We ate in the main dining room every night and never had to wait more than 10 minutes for a table ( we didn't choose a scheduled dining time). Next time we will pick the late seating because we ended up eating at the same time each night and we enjoy having the same servers each night. MDR food was really good, considering how many people they are serving. Every night we had a tough time making our choices because so many of the menu items sounded good! For entertainment, we really enjoyed All McCartney LIVE, and one of the comics. In Costa Maya we chose the "Kohunlich & Dzibanche Mayan Ruins Combo". This was a long excursion (8 hours) but we really enjoyed it. The sites were not crowded (on Nov 19th) and the ruins were amazing. The tour guide was really informative and gave just the right amount of commentary. On a sea day we did the "behind the scenes ship tour" and really enjoyed it, especially the engine control room and bridge. We noticed that the afternoon tour had fewer people than our morning tour. The cruise itself was good. We had taken this exact cruise this past April and were excited for this itinerary again, only this time we were going on the cruise with both of my kids, ages 13 and 7. There weren't any specific things on the ship or during the cruise that were any different than last time - that being said, the same issues I had back in April, I had this time around as well. Embarkation - We flew into Ft. Lauderdale the night before the cruise. It took us probably close to 45 minutes waiting for a ride share. It was a little frustrating on that front. Mostly because, in the past, we've never really had to wait maybe more than 10 minutes or so. It was a bit chaotic in th queue and I don't think a lot of the ride share drivers were really patying too much attention. Once we got picked up, the drive was easy. Our hotel was almost directly across from the airport and the port. The next morning, we were picked up fairly quickly and made it to the cruise port in about 15 minutes. The check in process at the terminal was pretty quick. They were doing the facial recognition so they had my husband do it and then we were through. Security itself was fast, too. I think it took us...20 minutes from the time we walked into the terminal to getting on the ship. We were able to drop our things off in the room and get our cards and then we explored the ship. The ship - Equinox went through a refurbishment in May 2019 but it wasn't really a whole lot different aside from Cellar Masters becoming the craft beer bar. We sailed on this ship in April, just before the refurbishment, but aside from a couple minor things, it didn't seem like much changed. I think we ate half the nights in the MDR and in the buffet the other nights. The food is good, as it typically is. Our waiter was great in accomodating appetizers for my kids - a plate each of just pineapple and just watermelon. I do not have adventurous eaters. Entertainment - We didn't see but one of the shows and it was very good. It was a band performing The Beatles hits and songs by Paul McCartney. The entertainment staff was great. Dan, the cruise director, was very, very funny. He reminded me a lot of James Corden. There was a lot of trivia on this cruise, which was good because we're huge fans of trivia. There was an orchestra that was great plus a couple singers who sounded great. The port stops: Key West - This was our second stop in Key West this year and I love it. We did the old towne trolley since my kids joined us and they don't do walking long distances very well. I think I like the trolley better than the conch train, due to the fact that you can hop on/hop off. We got to the Southernmost Point fairly early so there was only a short line. If you're going to visit this, getting there later can cause headaches due to long wait times. We also went to the Hemingway Home and Museum again, this time for my kids. I say "for my kids" but the truth is, my husband and I also wanted to see the cats again. We ate at Two Friends Patio for lunch. Their buffalo fried shrimp was super good. My husband had breakfast and he enjoyed it as well. My son and I had a slice of key lime pie at Kermit's. Best key lime pie I've ever had. We finished off our time in Key West at the aquarium. I don't think the attraction, while cool, is worth the price of admission. It's very small and there's not a whole lot there. We did get to watch a shark feeding and we got to feed some fish as well. I don't think I'd pay more than $10/pp for it. All in all, it was a good visit. Costa Maya, Mexico - We went to Maya, Lost Mayan Kingdom and had an absolute blast! Neither my husband nor myself were expecting it to be much of anything but we really, really enjoyed it. The lazy river was fun, the kids waterslides were a big hit, and the relaxation pool was very relaxing. The staff were very friendly as well. My husband and I have said we'd definitely go back. Cozumel, Mexico - We went to Mr. Sanchos, which we do every time we're in Cozumel. Julio, who works the pool bar, remembered us from April of this year. The kids had fun there, too. The drinks were good, the food was good, and it was very relaxing. The only downside was that we had to be back on the ship by 330p. George Town, Grand Cayman - We took an excursion to the Cayman Turtle Centre to see sea turtles and it was probably the single best part of the entire cruise. We got to touch baby sea turtles, get in the water with them, and even snorkel with grown sea turtles. Best excursion of the whole trip and probably one of the best we've had on any cruise. We grabbed a late lunch at Margaritaville and while it was good, I'm not sure we'd go back. There didn't feel to be much urgency to anyone while we were there. Debarkation - The process of getting off the ship could have been better. There was no communication around the ship as to what luggage tags had been called yet unless you went into one of the restaurants. We heard a couple passengers ask and none of the staff seemed to know anything. When we were actually off the ship and heading to customs and immigration, it wasn't the smoothest there, either. There was a bit of confusion over where we were to go because they had two lines - one for passport holders and one for those using birth certificates. There was not any signage for families/groups using both passports and other documents. We were met with a little impatience when we asked which line we were supposed to be in. It didn't take too long to get our bags and getting out of the port itself was very, very easy. Now there were a few things that we didn't like all that much but only a couple things. The biggest issue I had - both back in April and this recent cruise - is the location of the library. Libraries are meant to be quiet spaces but when there's live music in the grand foyer, it's insanely loud in the library. Another issue was a lack of variety in food. I don't expect a cruise line to change up their menus every cruise or every month, but some variety would be nice. They had the same things in the MDR that they were serving back in April. 7 months is a good bit of time that revamping the menu could have been done. Especially with the ship having gone thru it's refurbishment. They could have been modifying the menus during those 29 days as well. I also had a bit of an issue with how they set up the rooms. We were in a balcony cabin that had a pull out trundle bed so that you could sleep 4 in the room. When the bed is pulled out, though, it leaves maybe 4" of room between the trundle and the dresser/vanity. Trying to get anything off the vanity once the trundle bed was pulled out was next to impossible. All in all - it was a very good cruise on a very nice ship. Read Less

This is our 2nd trip on this ship. 90% of our experience was very good. Just a few pointers for those venturing onto Celebrity for the 1st time. >We booked Aqua Class, which means you can use a spa and eat at Blu. Not worth the money. The food at Blu was pretty ordinary compared to the regular dining room. It was actually disappointing because I just expected an upgrade on the menu. Save your money and book a specialty dining night. >Be sure to book at a time when you get perks. We got drink packages and onboard credits included which was really nice. Unless you're snooty, the regular drink package works just fine. You can print a copy of the brands available and take it with you. >Review your bill before you leave the ship. We both got dinged for $4.20 on the mini bar but never used it nor drank the water in the room. Not a big deal because it's only a few bucks...just a little weird. >Use Park N Go. Soooo much easier than port parking and half the money. >Be sure to find a reasonable hotel ahead of time because hotels near the port are pretty steep. The Embassy Suites was $350 + $35 parking. May not be much to most people but $400 a night is usually a more elite hotel. >We're tippers and we always tip the wait staff....but I can say other than the casino, the pool bar staff could care less if you tip or not. Most people don't. >Not much for kids to do on the ship as the clientele is somewhat older. That was OK for us but if you have little ones, pick another ship. >Murano restaurant was fantastic and well worth the extra charge. >Next to the burger counter is a beer guy...most people didn't think to go there for a beer vs. standing in a sea of people near the pool. >Balcony cabin had lots of storage >Entertainment was pretty average....like most ships Read Less

I tried to ignore all of the negative reviews on Yelp and TripAdvisor and focused on the positive reviews and I chose to book this vacation for our family. My 11 year old twins loved this cruise line because of the water park at CocoCay. I chose this itinerary because it include a Perfect Day at CocoCay. The employees on the ship have a very easy time saying NO. No, I cannot have a fancy glass unless I order that specific drink (my $10 drink come in a plastic cup), NO, I cannot pour your wine in the dining room, unless you want me to ask a manager. Please accept their apologies that 1) we had to wait in a warehouse like room for hours because the ship entered the port late due to weather 2) that we verified that you were told on the phone that the water park was included (it is a additional $95 pp - we will give you a $175 excursion credit, after you were on the phone for an hour begging). 3) that we verified that you were told tips will be a total of $74 (charged $300) 4) that the ship had to be rerouted to Nassau because CocoCay had bad weather (this I understand), they returned the $175 excursion credit to the account that we had used for a helium balloon ride experience, they offered a list of new excursions for the Bahamas, none at the cost of $175 or lower. When we asked if there were any discounts that can be applied, the excursion rep said boldly that NO concessions will be made. When we went to guest services they said the excursion prices are higher because we are coming to the shore on short notice, so we should understand that, NO excursions will be priced differently to meet our budget. 5) This is a big one, when we booked with the rep over the phone we were given a $175 onboard credit, different than the excursion credit - this was very confusing to the guest service reps - they are telling us that we spent it, well this is day 1 and we didn't spend it. After hours at the guest service desk over the next several day they finally figured it out... because a couple days after the we booked the cruise, I called to let them know I saw a lower rate, they repriced the cruise and credited our credit card for the $37 price difference... by doing this we lost the promotional $175 onboard credit. Yes, everyone agrees that doesn't make sense. Yes, they did verify that I spoke with a rep 3 days before the cruise to verify that I was checked in and we discussed the tips, and the $175 onboard credit. NO, no way can they give that credit to us because we did save the $37... NO, they cannot change that! Apologies yes, making things right, NO. I really would love to be told one thing and the company to back that up. Super sad. I cried because I didn't want to worry about money while on the cruise. I worked a lot of extra hours to pay for this cruise and just wanted to sit back and relax. I was sad that the kids were not able to go on a different excursion when the balloon ride was cancelled. The ship is old and it shows. There are a lot of paint ships and broken things, gum under the bed frame, stickers on the bed frame, worn carpeting with strings hanging over, super slippery decks with few non stick mats, chipped plates, scratched windows and such. The room was the size of a shoe box, okay a little bigger. I have been on several cruises and this was the worst by far. Normally the staff, overall, makes you feel like royalty, this time I felt like a beggar. On the upside, our servers Amary and Dwayne, were very nice, as was our cabin steward. I got it together, we are on vacation and had a great time anyway. The shows were good. The pool, although small, was clean. NO, don't jump into the 6 foot section, NO don't use those googles. The kids loved the hot tubs and there were 4 of them. My daughter must have done the rock wall 50 times! Charles and the other employee were so nice and gave her many new challenges. My son and I danced to the live band and piano players and my husband and I strolled the deck under the stars. There was plenty of food options available all day, no one went hungry. Sometimes we were thirsty though, the only place to get the free drinks (iced tea, lemonade or water) was on the 11th and 12th floor restaurant areas. We were on the 2nd floor. The kids liked the kids club, looked like they were mostly video gaming so they only went twice. No bill under door on the last night / morning of check out so I have know idea what I will be charged. The line at guest service was so long, everyone was complaining about their bills, someone said they have been waiting for 2 hours in line. From my guest service experience, I'm sure nothing could be done about anything they were disputing, NO. So I chose not to wait in the line, NOPE! I will cruise again, but not with Royal Caribbean, that is for sure. Read Less
