First time on Viking - Very impressed
"We've decided we like balcony staterooms so when I added up what Norwegian cost - the gratuity on the drink package (>$400/cabin), price of shore excursions and the price of upgrade to balcony and then compared to Viking, Viking actually came out as cheaper!Spa - Norwegian charges a LOT extra verses included on Viking...."Read More

Not during COVID and don’t expect to be able to use Wi-Fi

Review for Viking Orion to Caribbean - All

This was my first time on Viking however my fourth cruise during COVID. The on-boarding day of was subpar as well as being locked in our room for 9 hours awaiting PCR results. They were totally disorganized compared to Norwegian. The staff was super nice and helpful from food, to bar service, to cleaning and maintenance. Median age for this trip was at least 65 so the entertainment was geared ...

We have been long time fans of Norwegian having loved their entertainment as well as their fine dining restaurants. And in recent years they've been throwing in the drink packages which is awesome. So when we wanted to sail the Panama canal I assumed we would do Norwegian again. But then I started researching Viking... We've decided we like balcony staterooms so when I added up what ...

After a Viking Ocean Cruise in Sept. 2021 leaving from Malta to Croatia We had such a good time that we booked another cruise this November, having just returned I feel that there are a few things that other guests should be aware of. The cruise ship this November was the Orion leaving from Ft Lauderdale to Los Angeles through the Panama Canal an 18 day cruise. Our Malta cruise in Sept was on ...

This was one of our first cruises during the time of Covid. The safety protocols aboard the Orion were extraordinary—PCR tests every morning, crew constantly cleaning and sanitizing. We felt very safe. This is a relatively new itinerary for Viking and we liked that it sailed from one U.S. port and ended in another. The Orion was so comfortable and the service and food were great. It was ...

The lectures on the Panama Canal were wonderful and the entertainment spectacular. Going through the canal was a once in a lifetime adventure. We also enjoyed the shows in the planetarium and the nightly music in the showroom as well as the open areas. The staff was very attentive and the food was marvelous. Even though it was during the aftermath of the pandemic and restrictions were ...

Great Trip with Few Passengers

Review for Viking Orion to Caribbean - All

This was our first trip on Viking having only been on smaller ships with Windstar. We were quite impressed. While the ship holds 930 passengers we were told there were only 369 on board, but with the abundance of staff (perhaps they were fully staffed) the service was outstanding. We were the first (in 18 months) and only ship in all but one port so the locals were very happy we were there. ...

Wonderful Cruise; Food Disappointing

The ship was beautiful (Orion) and our cabin was on the 3rd floor. Perfect position for movement to both the front and back of the ship. We only has about 400 on the ship which made us feel like we were on a private yaught. It was our first Viking Ocean cruise and both the ship and the ports were very good. First of all our bathroom was the largest we have had on any of our prior 7 cruises. ...
