Have been on a couple other cruise lines, but Royal Caribbean is always a favorite of our family.
Last Cruise we had our two teenage boys with us and although they were in the adjoining cabin, we rarely saw them. I was nervous initially about their age group (and the Allure has not been through the Royal Upgrade yet (with waterslides and bunch of other perks)) but there were so many ...
Let me start off by saying this was not my first time on the Allure of the Seas. I was on this ship about 5 years ago, and was in awe of the architecture and entertainment on board. This time around I also was amazed by the sheer artistry of this ship. I'm going to break up this review in parts so it is easier to read.
FOOD:
The food was even better than I remember it being the first time I ...
The Allure is a beautiful ship! Great, helpful and happy personnel work on this ship. They were very excited to be back to cruising and it showed. We enjoyed delicious food in all of the restaurants and experienced great service with a smile. Sadly for us, we came home infected with COVID, despite being double vaccinated and boosted. We had not cruised since 2019 and we were very excited about ...
Main Dining - We have always chosen My Time Dining because of the flexibility and I am the person that may be hungry at 5pm or 9pm depending on the day. My partner has filed the complaint with my stomach many times. On this cruise by the time we boarded at 1:00pm there were no MTD reservations available until after 8:00pm even if you wanted to plan your dining around shows and other activities. ...
We were a family group of 12 ranging in ages from 13 to 75 with 2 grandparents, our 2 children and spouses, their 5 children and one girlfriend. All of us had traveled together on Harmony of the Seas in 2018 and had loved it. We grandparents have been on 26 cruises with several different lines .. We all drove to the terminal, two groups parked on site, one group rented a van so were delivered to ...
After 6 Carnival Cruises as my kiddos grew up we would look with wonder at the big ships and say "someday." Now that the kiddos are grown (19 & 21) it was time to go on a mega ship. We had cruised RC before but it was eons ago. We were slated for Harmony but Covid.... so Allure.
The ship is beautiful. So many details and quality craftsmanship put into her. However, the design being centered ...
My wife and I chose this ship because we were pleased with our experience on the Harmony., a sister ship in the RC Oasis class. Our tips from lessons learned from previous cruises would be:
1) Arrive in embarkation day as early as possible. You are told to arrive only at your scheduled time. However the lines are long so even though they move quickly it can take a while before one is actually ...
We chose the Allure as we have sailed the other ships in the oasis class and heard good things about it to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Having been in the Oasis, Harmony and the Odyssey. We find the entertainment in the ship is underwhelming. There is a band but when they don’t play the music in the background is boring. In Haiti , there was a set up for music but no music at all. Only the ...
Sailed on the Symphony this past Nov, so I had realistic expectations in these Covid times.
The MDR was two different worlds: The lines to get in were 30-40min 2 of the nights, even with reservations. Once we got to our table, it was smooth. There is a disconnect somewhere. They work so hard, though.
The entertainment was lackluster, in terms of variety. We loved Mama Mia, Ice Games and ...
I chose this cruise because of the ports--Labadee, Aruba, and Curacao. I have been on the Allure twice before, more than ten years ago. She is a beautiful, very special ship, but most definitely showing her age and in need of an update.
We sailed at high capacity (5000) with 1200 crew. There were not enough crew to keep up with the masses. Some shops never opened, and I have to assume that was ...
