The staff was excellent throughout the cruise. They were always helpful and friendly. The food was the best that we have had on any cruise. It was uniformly excellent. The wine list is good and the bar brands included in the price are very good. The cabin was well appointed with a walk in closet and granite counters in the bath. Bath amenities were very good.
We did notice the vibration in the ...
Our second Regent cruise - both on the navigator in the same suite. This time was as outstanding an experience as the first was a few months ago. I've worked all my life in luxury hotels, mostly in the US. I still work in a nearby Hilton because I enjoy the hospitality business so much.
Navigator provides service and quality in both food and beverage service and in cabin housekeeping that ...
If I'd never been on a cruise before, this cruise wouldn't have been bad (although, for the money, I still would have been disappointed). Given that I've cruised with this line previously (including with the Paul Gauguin when it was part of the line) AND just completed a cruise on Azamara earlier this year, this trip proved to be far below expectations.
With the exception of the housekeeping ...
My mother was kind enough to take me on a cruise to the Eastern Caribbean this year, and it was a fantastic trip. It was my very first cruise, and everyone told me I'd be "spoiled" by going with Regent for my first cruise. They were right!I loved the smallness of the ship: only 490 passengers. We had one of the few non-balcony suites, but that didn't matter at all - we had a fabulous view out ...
We chose this cruise because we wanted to get away from the Alpine winter - the last two winters in Switzerland, where we live, have been brutal and we are sick of snow and ice. 10 days on a Regent ship in an area which would most likely be warm if not hot suited us to a T. In fact we had originally booked a 7 day Western Caribbean cruise on the same ship but changed to the Eastern one to have 3 ...
This was our first ever cruise so, no doubt, that will affect our perceptions. We had chosen Regent after talking to acquaintances who had sailed many times on their ships and who told us that this was the only way to cruise.
Originally, it was just going to be my husband and I on the cruise as our fifteen year old son was meant to be away on a month long expedition with his school to Venezuela. ...
We have cruised on Regent multiple times and have enjoyed every prior cruise. We have cruised with our TA and met many wonderful posters from this and other boards. We are big Regent fans but noticed considerable decline in this sailing experience.
We felt let down in terms of service and the quality of provisioning on this trip. Perhaps some of the problems can be attributed to this being the ...
Pre-Cruise: We flew Continental Airlines out of Seattle to Houston and on to Ft. Lauderdale. The week prior to the trip, I noticed price decreases in both hotel and air. We cancelled and rebooked both at a net savings of $800.00. We took a taxi to Embassy Suites at a cost of approx. $14.00 plus tip. The vans at the airport will gladly take you to Embassy Suites for $40.00, so, it is a good idea to ...
Uncertain as to how we would react to cruising, we chose a short (7-night) cruise to places we had visited many times previously. The exceptions were Grand Turk and Princess Cay, about which more later. Not to leave anyone in suspense, while we perceive some (inevitable) paradoxes in the cruise experience, we enjoyed our voyage and look forward to more cruises in our future. Our boarding ...
We had booked the cruise with a travel agency in Dallas. I had requested everything to be first class big handicap friendly suite for my parents, handicap friendly limos to and from the airport, etc. My Dad was recently diagnosed with Leukemia as well, so we wanted this to be a special cruise for the three of us and our caregiver. We had traveled on Carnival, Celebrity and Princess before. ...
