Along with another couple, my husband and I boarded the Ruby with high hopes and great expectations, and also to see if we wanted to talk this ship for a longer trip to the British Isles in 2015.Now it is true that we took an inside cabin ( inexpensive- however we slept like bears hibernating!) and there were things that we had to pay for that came with the more expensive staterooms- and that was ...

We booked the Ruby for 4 consecutive cruises, a 5, 4, 5, 5 day, and the first 3 were fine. Feb 15 Pre-Cruise and Embarkation: We got a great deal for secure parking at the Embassy Suites on 17th street - 1/2 the price of parking at the port - and took the free shuttle to the ship. Embarkation was painless - we have preferred boarding and walked right on. CABIN: Luggage was delivered very quickly ...

A pleasant and short revisit to Princess' Ruby

This a 5yr revisit to the Ruby Princess on a short 4 night cruise, from a port intensive 12 day Mediterranean cruise 5 years ago. Also, I was able to enjoy different parts of the ship that I was unable to explore before, because of fatigue or time factors. My 1st impressions are that ship is just as clean, well-kempt, and still has that brand new feel. Cabin I would also recommend that even if ...

Ruby Princess 4 and 5 Day Cruise to Princess Cay, & Western Caribbean

We just completed a 4 and 5 day cruise on the Ruby Princess. Princess offered a really good deal and many people were doing multiple back to back cruises. I will tell the good and bad for each cruise. Unfortunately Princess made several very aggravating errors at the beginning of each cruise and these spoiled the mood. You know the expression “never fool with someone else’s money”, well Princess ...

I am going to start with the PROS: Room: We were upgraded to an aft balcony cabin. Thanks Princess! The balcony was huge! The room was a decent size and clean. The water pressure and temperature in the shower was great. Plenty of open closet space. Bed was comfy to me. There were enough current movies to watch on TV too. Steward: Renato was nice and came by and introduced himself and told us ...

Princess Ruby Review This cruise started off fine in Fort Lauderdale, as we went to Lester's diner, a Christmas Boat parade, and Jaxson's Ice Cream Parlor. This was the beginning of a very long week I'm afraid. DAY 1 EMBARKATION DAY... left the hotel at 10:30 and arrived at the terminal by 11:00. We sat un till 11:45 as they we still disembarking the previous guests. Got our sign and ...

November 15 - 22, 2008 Western Caribbean ruby Princess This was our first cruise with Princess, having mostly sailed with Royal Caribbean. This was our second visit to the Western Caribbean, having visited the same islands on this route on a previous sailing. Our sailing was during the maiden season of the Ruby. We went out of BWI to Port Everglades 1 day before our embarkation date, which we ...

We were on the last cruise of the Ruby Princess to the Caribbean before she sailed to the Mediterranean on April 18, 2009. This is my third cruise and my husband's first. Embarkment: Very easy and painless. We did have a bottle of wine in our suitcase and security did not care. Formal Nights: Always done on the evening when we were at sea all day. Food: Stay clear of the ...

Hotel in FLL—we got the Westin Beach Resort from Priceline. The hotel is going thru renovations but it had everything we needed and was right across the street from the beach. Service was impeccable and we had a great room on the top floor facing the beach. Embarking—It was totally worth it going in the night before and showing up at the port at 11. We were on the ship before noon. The ...

This was my 18th cruise. I can't help but compare each cruise to our best experiences at sea. So here goes... We arrived in FLL one day before the cruise. Princess booked us at the Hollywood Beach Marriott. The price was $300 plus for one night! If I could do it over, I would book a 4-star on hotwire.com for at least half off that price. Wished our travel agent had advised us that we didn't ...
