It Was a Relaxing 10 Days - But Disappointed in Our Stay in Bermuda

PRE-CRUISE HOTEL; As usual, we booked our hotel through Stay123. We again chose the Hampton in Plantation, FL. Which offered a lovely room, free hot & cold breakfast, free parking for 7 days (nominal charge for the other 3 days), transportation to and from the hotel. EMBARKATION: Embarkation on Monday September 1st was a breeze. We arrived at the Ft. Lauderdale pier at 10:21 AM, doors opens at ...

We have just returned from the 10 night cruise. The ship is beautiful and the crew is very friendly and helpful. This new captain is unbelievable. He is Captain Marek Slaby and he is out everyday. You will see him everywhere. We have cruised for 21 years and this was a first. You will run into him on the stairs, eating lunch or breakfast in the Windjammer. Even yesterday morning as the ship was ...

We spent the day before at Hampton Inn, North on 12th street. Nice, clean, friendly, and close to the port. We drove to Port Everglades, dropped off the luggage, parked and was on the ship by 10:45. dropped off medicine and carryon in the room, and then procedded to the windjammer for lunch. Food was bland and cold, with not much variety. Food barely changednfrom day to day. The ship was clean ...

Disappointed with RCL's Vision of the Seas

It was with great expectations that we embarked on this cruise. Never had been to Bermuda and did not have to fly anywhere to get there! How much better does it get? Wrong....The problems started almost immediately... The way the furniture was arranged in the cabin (interior cabin) you had to crawl from the front of the bed in order to get in bed. Had to have the beds separated! One of the beds ...

We were aboard the September 1st sailing of Vision of the Seas on her Palm Tree's and Pink Sands Itinerary and had a wonderful cruise. Embarkation was very organized and we were aboard the ship in a few minutes. The ship is very elegant and well maintained. From the moment we boarded we were impressed with the new color carpeting in the lobby areas as well as the staircases, a very nice touch for ...

My husband and I had been looking forward to this cruise to Bermuda because we honeymooned there almost 44 years ago. Along with 3 other couples we found this RCI cruise and booked. It was a good deal and we hadn't been on a cruise for awhile. Getting on the ship was a piece of cake. It was the first time we sailed through customs and didn't have to wait in long lines. Since we were early, we ...

Vision-Nice size: Cost Cutting: Not Good

Our other RCL cruise was on Brilliance of the Seas 4 years ago. We thought it was very good value and looked forward to this cruise picked for the itinerary. The itinerary is a good one but did not make up for what appeared to be serious cost cutting in several areas. We drove to the port and parked at US1 parking right next to the port and across from the airport entrance. Rates were low and ...

Although we more frequently sail on Princess or Celebrity cruise lines, we previously had a wonderful Royal Caribbean experience on the Jewel of the Seas so when months ago a 10-day cruise on the Vision of the Seas to Bermuda was offered, we eagerly booked it. Not unlike the Jewel, the Vision is a smaller and older vessel recently updated and refitted with upgraded dining and other amenities. Crew ...

Great Itinerary

I quickly tire of reviews and blogs that focus only on the short comings of a cruise, or focus only on "the good old days" of cruising, with its high quality and food and staples such as caviar, real crab meat, high quality veal, exotic fruits (mangos, papayas, etc. galore), and an endless variety of entrees, but I fear my review this time will lean in that direction though, like most seasoned ...

I read some of the reviews after I booked the cruise and was a little nervous due to the amount of negative comments on this ship. But my fears were needless because the cruise ship was wonderful. We had a balcony room and was amazed at the storage capabilities, we didn't even use all the shelves provided. But I do agree with some of the critics the bathroom left a lot to be desired. I am a petite ...
