We booked this cruise from a retirement gift certificate for my husband! We had sailed with Royal Caribbean before and wanted to go back. It did not disappoint! Oasis of the Seas is beautiful and humongous! The neighborhoods really did help with navigating the ship-I was worried about finding everything... Our waiters in Silk were awesome!
EMBARKATION
We got to Port Everglades around ...
My wife and I have previously been on Allure of the Seas, and very much enjoyed that, so we decided to try it's sister ship. We also like the fact that there are many different things to do and see. We enjoyed this cruise and the service was all good. We did not do any of the specialty dining options, as we did not find anything too interesting on the menus. We ate in the main dining room on 3 of ...
The ship was beautiful but several areas were very overcrowded. The windjammer was very overcrowded and if you didn't go to breakfast early you were waiting in line. It seemed there were up charges for things everywhere. Way more than we were used to. Come areas had exceptional service such as our cabin steward and Sabor, but other areas were adequate, but not up to expectations. The server ...
I'st time on the Oasis. Never again. We have been on several other RCCL cruises and are Cabin attendant and dining room staff get a 5 star rating. Guest Relations get a 1, lower if possible. I made all of the show reservations several months in advance. Guest Relations made changes to them without advising us. We found out about them when looking on the reservation site on TV. When we asked ...
We were invited to join some of our friends on this cruise and thought it would be an ideal chance to see how the ship would be for our family and their kids.
On-board activities were geared to the younger crowd and seemed to be more than adequate. Watching everyone on the Flowrider was actually more entertaining then the shows in the evening.
Dining was a big disappointment. The menu ...
Food choices were limited in Main dining. . Did not like that robes and ice bucket not provided in stateroom. Items were provided the next day when requested. Stateroom attendant and dining room staff very friendly however staff throughout the ship were not knowledgeable/informative when asked questions. The ship was very nice and clean. The swimming pool area did not seem overcrowded but still a ...
We embarked surprisingly easily. That was because we traveled with my wife's brother and his wife. They are diamond club members, so basically from cab to ship took about 30 minutes. VERY NICE. Both of us had the same type cabin. Balcony overlooking the Boardwalk. They have been on Oasis three times. This was our first. This was my third cruise. First was Liberty and the second was Carnival ...
This is one big ship and loud.
We had a Central Park view, woke up every morning with a view of the tree tops. It was like being in a tree house.
Didn't care for the my time dining. It was chaos at the doors even with reservations. Once seated it was a steady stream of people by the table for those with and without reservations.
The line at the Customer Relations desk was always ...
this ship is very modern, but way too big. the problem is the crowds of people. not so much in the different venues on the ship, but all around the ship. when you get off on the dock, the throng of people is overwhelming. the locals cannot handle the masses. all the local stores, tours, & streets are jammed.
the situation for dinner was terrible. there were always too many people waiting in ...
This is my first Cruise Critic review, although I have written hundreds for TripAdvisor. I don't think this is necessarily a typical review, but here goes. I hope it is of benefit!
OASIS was my 30th cruise; I started cruising at the age of 11 onboard Royal Caribbean's very first ship, the SONG OF NORWAY, in 1974. As a comparison, the SONG was an 18,500 ton, 550' ship that carried just over ...
