Background: Couple in our mid-50s. This was our 16th cruise, ostly with Princess and Royal Caribbean. We have also recently cruised Celebrity and in the past cruised with Carnival and NCL. So we have some good perspective with which to compare. The week before this cruise we took a 7 day eastern Caribbean cruise on Allure of the Seas, which probably influenced the time we had on ...
Our family went on Liberty of the Seas on 3-28-15. First off, the port for Liberty is horrible, you have to drop your luggage off at one place and then go park and then walk to the terminal. We had to wait longer then usual to board the ship because of the Coast Guard doing their inspection. Once we made it on the ship things were fine. We made our way to the Windjammer for lunch and that was ...
This was my 9th overall cruise, 4th on Royal. Went with my wife and daughter for spring break. We normally cruise out of Tampa but the cruise we wanted there was booked up nearly a year out so we ended up driving to Ft. Lauderdale for a trip on Liberty of the Seas. As such, there was no air travel or hotel stays involved. Leaving Tampa at 8AM, we arrived at Port Everglades around noon. ...
I have been on the Liberty of the Seas several times, but was really disappointed this time. I took a group of seven cabins on a family reunion and was embarrassed at how poorly room service performed. Every time someone placed a room service order, half the order was missed! Even after speaking with the hotel manager, the next time it happened again! I must add though, the entertainment on this ...
We took our trip March 5th to Haiti & Jamaica. When we got through customs we had to check in and the young man that checked us in took about an hour to do so. He didn't know what he was doing. He kept having to find help from someone and messed up one of our peoples names in the system and it caused a lot of trouble for us on the boat because the name on the card didn't match the name that showed ...
Just returned from a 5 night on the Liberty of the Seas and mostly I was impressed. We arrived at the port at 11:45 and we were on the ship within 30 minutes, eating lunch. The drink prices have skyrocketed, but you can bring 2 bottles of wine per stateroom on board (kids in adjoining cabin so that left plenty for us)
Unfortunately, the new menu in the dining room was pretty awful. We only ate ...
Sailed on the 3/19 cruise out of Fort Lauderdale. There was a hole in the hull which required an 8 hour delay prior to leaving the port. That means the shops and the casino closed till after midnight. When I go on vacation I want to leave not hang in an ugly port like Port Everglades. Then on our last night we were sequestered to our cabins for 2 hours when a passenger jumped overboard. We were ...
In a surprise business move, Royal Caribbean sold out the "Liberty of the Seas" to Carnival. Approximately 2000 college attendees took their spring break out on unsuspecting Royal Caribbean loyalists by turning my "restful" vacation into a rendition of "Animal House". Excessive drinking associated with the usual loud, vulgar, and crude language including singing the "F-bomb" in chorus, prevented ...
This was our second cruise with Royal Caribbean, the first being on the Navigator of the Seas back in 2012. Since this was a bigger ship, we expected a bit more compared to our prior cruise. We now have a 2 year old child so the reason we took this cruse was because of their Royal Babies and Tots Nursery.
In retrospect, while the ship had many shortfalls, The Nursery (the most important part) was ...
We cruised on a Jan. 26, 2015 sailing. This cruise started out as a "royal" disaster. We waited three hours in line, outside the terminal. Royal Caribbean really messed this up. We suffered through it but we felt bad for the older folks who stood in the sun and sat on curbs as they too waited three hours. This was apparently due to problems getting the guest from the previous cruise off the ship. ...
