I chose RC because the port of call was the most convenient in term of cost of transportation. We boarded from Fort Lauterdale and from then had 3 days of bad weather. Leaving New England for some warmth did not materialize. Entertainment on the ship was very repetitious however the staff was very accommodating which made a big difference in being able to tolerate being on the ship most of the ...

We took the Royal Caribbean's Enchantment of the Seas a Vision Class Ship out of Norfolk, VA's Half Moone Cruise and Celebration Center on June 3, 2010 for 9 days. I've heard other people complain about the parking downtown so we had a friend drop is off so we didn't have a problem with it. The worst part for us was making the turn into the Cruise Terminal; the City of Norfolk really needs to work ...

I have cruised many times in the past 10 years but not in the past 5 so I turned to my "preferred" cruise line when a quick and easy getaway was called for this past month. Living in South Florida I have a choice of itineraries and ships but chose the Enchantment for the length (5 days, not too long, not too short) and the fact that it only had one sea day -- I prefer to be out and about on ...

We recently returned from Enchantment of the Seas October 8th 4nt cruise. It was our very first on Royal Caribbean. We booked this cruise because it fit the time window we had available, we liked the itinerary (Key West and Cozumel), and the price was great! First off, let me say that we both really liked the ship. Enchantment is very, very pretty. I especially thought that the Orpheum theatre ...

My husband, adult daughter and I cruised on the Enchantment of the Seas in July/Aug 2009. The ports of call were Key West & Cozumel. Our experience on the ship was mixed. We loved the redesigned look, with the sweeping arches on the top of the ship. The look of the ship is lovely--very well done. Our cabin was our first disappointment. We booked a last-minute deal and got a great rate, but the ...

SUMMARY: This cruise was enjoyable because we needed the break. It would have been better with less kids on board and food that was really enjoyable. Embarkation and Disembarkation: We did this at the Port Everglades port (Fort Lauderdale). It is not my favorite because of limited parking but this time of year only two cruise ships are using the facility so parking was not an issue. Both arrival ...

While this was not my first cruise, it was my first in almost 10 years.  On my first cruise, I was a little gunshy because at the end of it, I felt like I had been sold a bill of goods.  So I tried to be a little more informed and do more research before I booked, but because I booked at the last minute, I missed some important points.  Hence my feeling of de ja vu.When I booked the Royal ...

Background: This was a Spring family trip for my wife and I along with our daughter(7) and son(3). We have sailed with Royal Caribbean before on the Sovereign of the Seas in Spring 2006. We have also sailed on the Disney Magic twice and have a Transatlantic cruise on the QM2 booked for this summer for just my wife and I for our 10th anniversary. Transportation: We booked our own flights from ...

Embarkation - Nightmare; or at least it could have been. Arrived at 11:00 to find 2 wedding parties and a "Seafarers Luncheon" for 300 people also trying to board. We found out also there was a new crew coming on that had to go through the same security area. We found ourselves literally standing nose-to-nose with all these people until a Port Agent named Jay Mendehlson came to our rescue and took ...

Poor planning on RCI's part makes 8138 an undesirable Jr Suite, since it is right under the seating area next to the 9th floor Solarium snack bar. People moving hard bottom chairs all night long above your head makes this room noisy around the clock. We complained; if they put soft feet on the chairs that may help. Service was outstanding, from the cabin attendants to the waiters...best I've ...
