This was a Repositional Transatlantic from Fort Lauderdale to Southampton. We were on our way to Norway and what a way to go!There were 6 ports to visit each providing memorable experiences especially the port of The Azores Portugal. The service was outstanding with all wait staff more than pleasant.I am writing this to mainly commend the kitchen! The buffet was the best buffet I have experienced in ...
Our first TA cruise.
Embarking at Ft. Lauderdale was fast and very easy - also early!
Ship was largest of Princess ships that we have been on. Extremely clean, extremely comfortable. Great venues and mostly smooth sailing.
Our cabin was on the Dolphin deck and midships. Really great location. Had a love seat which gave us flexibility as to the cabin. Our balcony was on one of the ...
Embarkation was fast and efficient. Upon arrival in our room, I usually do a spray of Lysol that I bring with. I opened drawers and found a week old newspaper along with a couple of pills. There were several hairs on the desk chair and on the bed. After I sprayed the top of the desk, I wiped it off with several tissues. It was dirty! I spayed and wiped again and it was clean. Not a way to ...
Our first time on a transatlantic cruise. Seadays were great. Lots to do on board.
Service was excellent. So was our cabin.
The front desk staff was especially helpful in changing our itinerary after bad weather caused the ship to divert from France to England.
Every member of the crew was exceptionally helpful and pleasant to deal with.
The spa and exercise facilities were first ...
Transatlantic with a great itinerary. We liked that there were not a lot of sea days in a row. We loved going to ports in Europe where we have never been before. We were disappointed in being diverted from LeHavre because of the weather but then having the time in Southampton was nice. We had a guarantee deluxe balcony room and were happy with the location mid forward. We still prefer cabins ...
Had a great time. Met new friends. Got this one off our bucket list. Room was nice. Dining ok. John and I like fresh fish and fish was not fresh and we asked about it and we were told that the boat was not allowed to have fresh fish on board. Bellinis bar was our favorite. Fitness center was always crowded. Several machines were not working for the 27 days. Lines were long everywhere. Our ...
Princess had initially refused to give us a 'real' refund for shore excursion that Princess cancelled. The last port of call Le Havre on the day before disembarkation, was cancelled due to high winds. Consequently the shore excursions at this port were cancelled and Princess would refund passengers for the cancelled excursions. As we had used onboard credits to purchase the excursions, what we ...
We chose this cruise as a replacement for a Caribbean cruise we no longer wanted to take. This review is more about the ship than the cruise itself. I've sailed on Princess many times but this was our first cruise on the new Royal (or any of her sister ships). I've always enjoyed Princess' ships - but I did not enjoy the Royal. I adore the Caribbean, Crown, and their sisters, but the Royal ...
This was our 28th cruise, our second on Princess. We primarily sail in order to cross oceans and we chose this repositioning cruise to arrive in LeHavre before a long stay in Paris. Unfortunately Princess delivered us to the UK, not where we wanted to be. More on that later, but first the cruise itself.
What we Liked:
Embarkation and Ports Management: Embarking was as smooth as silk, ...
Embarkation:
The process of boarding in Fort Lauderdale was easy, fast, and efficient. We arrived around 11 AM and were checked in and on board the ship by 11:20. Staff was helpful and courteous. We went to the buffet and our cabin was ready by 12:45. Embarkation was better than any of our past cruises.
Ship Condition:
The Royal Princess is a fairly new ship and as such is in excellent ...
