This was an 18 day cruise with an extra 5 days in Germany. This Cruise Line had no idea of how to treat Customers.
The Reception Staff was rude with whatever question you had. We lost 2 nights of sleep crossing the Atlantic because something had come loose in the ship's bulkhead and was banging so loud every few minutes. We reported it to Reception the first night only to be told they ...
We have gone on cruises with other cruise lines before and never had such an experience as we did on this MSC cruise.
The hygiene level of the crew needs to be improved. At the buffet service alone I never saw a clean cloth used to wipe down the tables when people left the tables and others sat down to eat. It had gotten to the point that I would wipe the table down before we would eat on it. ...
BACKGROUND
We are British, in our mid sixties with a dozen cruises to our name and have sailed with MSC on eight occasions, four in the last 4 years. This most recent experience was with two back-to-back cruises: a) West Caribbean; & b) TransAtlantic Repositioning via East Caribbean & West Mediterranean
Whilst the line has its shortcomings, we are attracted to MSC because of its stylish ...
Booked 2 balcony suites on the Atlantic cruise from Ft.L to Barcelona March 6 to March 22.We did not expect luxury when boarding M/S Poesia, even the vessel is new in the fleet.2 weeks in the same restaurant at the same table, with the same waiters, looking at the same guests around you is not recommendable. MSCs promotion of the Fantastic Italian Cuisine was very difficult to see. There were two ...
Summary
'Poesia' is Italian for Poetry: I would not say this cruise was fine prose, but it was a reasonable work in progress. Embarkation/Disembarkation: With US and UK handling agents there was no problem. Nice Cabin: A balcony is essential on a ship of this size. This made the daytimes on our days at sea very enjoyable. Management & Communication: A ship with over 3000 passengers and 900 crew ...
In the past 18 months we have sailed with four different cruise lines/ships - 3 of these in the past 3 months - in almost identical cabin categories and locations - all mid-range aft balcony cabins. Thus we are in an unique position to directly compare MSC Poesia with NCL Jade, HAL Noordam and Celebrity Century. We won't comment on the itineraries as they are all totally different. We can comment ...
We're Australians in our late 50s with only 5 previous cruises with which to compare (none on this line). Despite negative reviews of this cruise line we sailed with an open mind. As a large proportion of the cabins were balcony type, there was not a huge premium for one of those. Also because we felt the cabins are fairly small on this ship and with the low price for transatlantic cruises, we ...
We arrived(2 passengers) at the embarkation point at 1pm on the day of the cruise,May 2nd 2009. We boarded the ship promptly just after 1 pm and found our way to our cabin without the help or support of the staff standing idle in the hallways.Being past passengers of MSC we were supposed to be personally escorted to our cabin by the staff. This is part of the deal of being a past ...
Booked in August 2008 after seeing the MSC Orchestra Transatlantic/Repositioning Balcony Cruise advertised in Saturdays' Daily Mail. Their advertisement stated that a transatlantic flight and one night's accommodation in Miami/Fort Lauderdale was included. The latter turned out to be misleading and we paid over £80.00 extra for "3 star accommodation", which turned out to be the awful River Park ...
MSC Opera. Transatlantic Crossing Fort Lauderdale to Genoa 2nd to 19th April, 2005.
Although this is our own personal thoughts and opinions based on our experience from time to time there may be comment upon opinions and thoughts of some of the people with whom we spent time during our 17 wonderful days.
This was not our first cruise with MSC and what really concerned us was that changes may ...
