My wife and I cruised MSC Orchestra on 1/24/2009 bound for the western caribbean. We have been on over 15 cruises. We went on this cruise at the request of a friend who has been on over 100 cruises. Our friend indicated that MSC was new to north america and was making an effort to appeal to the American market. He also indicated the line president was the previous president of Celebrity cruises. ...
Well, here goes. I traveled on MSC Orchestra for a Rock and Roll Cruise. If it weren't for the included concerts and activities provided for this special curise, i would have been sleeping all of the time. 1. The food was the worst. I could not imagine it. I lost 2 pounds. Many others complained about the food.2. The room was ok but I never knew who my room steward was. 3. The staff was ...
My wife and I just returned back to Canada after a cruise on the MSC Orchestra. It was the February 21,2009 cruise to the western Caribbean.
First; let me tell you the good: The ships is new, large and beautiful. It was our favorite cruise ship when it comes to appearance. Lots of brass, glass, and marble. The state rooms were of average size. The public areas are roomy and nicely decorated. The ...
We arrived at the Port about 10:45 AM on the 10th. We were sent upstairs with the number 6 boarding number. We waited maybe 15 minutes before boarding the ship. We were shown the way to our cabin(we were not escorted there by someone wearing white gloves like we were on the Lirica 2 years before). The trip to the cabin was all the way thru the ship, which we enjoyed as it is a beautiful ship and ...
I want to say that I had a wonderful time on the Orchestra and although it may be missing some of the bells and whistles of other ships, it was an enjoyable cruising experience. The check in was simple and took only a few minutes. The lifeboat drill was a bit of a joke because they spoke it in 5 languages and fast so we never really heard the English version. Luckily it was over quickly. The ship ...
We cruise twice a year, and have been on almost every cruiseline out there. When our travel agent called and told us about a short, 2 night cruise on a European line attempting to break into the the American market, we jumped on the chance (as did about 30 of our friends) to take a quick getaway before Christmas break ended and the kids went back to school (our son is a junior in high school). We ...
We were aboard the Orchestra for the 1/24 - 1/31 sailing of the Western Caribbean, which included the ports: Key West, Cozumel, Cayo Levantado and Grand Cayman.
Embarkation We arrived in Ft. Lauderdale a day early and stayed at the Candlewood Suites, located just minutes from the port. Nice accommodations, but don't bother waiting for the "first come, first served" shuttle to take you to ...
I sailed on the January 17th - 7 days eastern Caribbean. I had a balcony stateroom 9131 on deck 9 midship. I am French Canadian so sorry for the spelling mistakes.
I heard alot of people complaining during this sailing but I think maybe they were not well informed about this cruise line and expected to much of an North American Style ship and service which is not. It is truly an European ...
I have never felt so mistreated and confined in my entire life.
First off, the computers malfunctioned. I arrived at the port at 11:00 AM and did not board the ship until 5:30 PM. The ship did not leave the port until 8:00 PM.
I had not eaten since 7:00 AM. So I head straight for the buffet. The food was terrible quality, I consider Chef Boyardee top notch compared to this mess. Complaining ...
The trip was a TOTAL 100% disappointment to everyone. Following are the troubles we encountered:
1. arrived at port 1:45 P.....got checked in and onboard ship at 545P. No organization /crowd control . No-one from MSC came out to explain what was going on until 5P. MSC never offered a drink or restroom to the crowd. Forklift drivers threatened to run over guests. Broward County Sheriff ...
