30 of us cruise yearly. We chose the Divina expecting a quality, classy ship. Big mistake. The ship is huge but very understaffed. The waitstaff, cabin Stewart, etc.were great but overworked. Food quality was sorely lacking. We have never seen a thinner slice of "prime rib". You could almost see thru it! Lobster and shrimp were extra pay not included with dinners. We chose the 1st sitting for dinner and it proved to be a very hurried affair. The waiters do their best but there are not enough of them. Lobster, shrimp are not included but can be purchased. On our other cruises these are standard, nightly menu items. The entertainment was average, at best, with a lot of acrobatics. Even a Carnival ship has more to offer guests. If you have never cruised you would like the Divina but if you are regular cruisers experiencing other cruise lines you would be disappointed by this experience. We all agreed never sail with MSC again. Sorry. Read Less

At around 2:30 we made it to our room and relaxed as we waited for our bags to arrive. The first bag came around 4:15. The second bag around 5:00 and the third around 5:30. At around 7:00 we wondered what the hold up was for our final bag and I started the multi round calling session trying to reach reception (No answer after at least 6 calls). We decided to go to dinner expecting that it would show up while we were gone and that our cabin steward Nelson (who did an excellent job all week) would place it in our room. We returned at about 9:30 after eating and touring the ship. Upon entering the room and still not finding my last bag, I got on the phone again. 5 more calls no answer. At 10:15 I decided to go to guest relations. The line was, as expected, very long. At least 15 people in line but only 2 agents behind the desk. One of the agents was handling primarily passengers who spoke a language other than English so, it made for a very long wait before being serviced. At about 10:40 I was finally called to the agent and informed her that I was missing a bag. She asked for my name and cabin number and after entering it into the system informed me that they discovered an iron in my bag (big mistake on my part) and that they had been trying to contact me all afternoon and evening. I told her that we had been in our room most of the evening waiting for the bag and had not received a single call. She stated that she herself had called at least 3 times and I asked why she didn't leave a message on the phone, nor on the television system which had a messaging area or why she had not contacted my cabin steward to let him know that my bag was being held. She didn't answer and simply told me to go down the hall to claim my bag. At dinner on Sunday we got to the Black Crab lounge at 8:30 as soon as it opened. Found our seats, greeted our fellow dinners and after about 10 minutes our waiter took our orders. We waited about 15 minutes for our appetizers to arrive. We didn't get our entrée until 9:30. A full our after being seated. 2 of our table dinners mentioned how ridiculously slow the service was and that it was not obvious why. Other tables were already on their dessert by thn. The 2 other diners did not speak English well but you could tell of their displeasure by their looks. As we were talking the waiter came and took away one of the diners soup without asking if she was done. She looked surprised and only then did he ask if she was still eating it. Obviously upset, she stated that she was done. The conversation the rest of the evening was around the lack of professionalism from our wait staff. The wife and I decided that we would not return to the dining room during the remainder of the cruise because of what had occurred. One evening it took an hour and 15 minutes for room service to bring us ice but only after we called back. Another issue that many of the passengers experienced was that the elevators closed much too quickly, especially for the elderly on board trying to navigate between the 4 elevators. Thursday was our anniversary and the reason for the cruise. The wife asked if we should give the Black Crab a shot at redemption. I agreed but unfortunately, the service mirrored the issues that we had on Sunday night. I also found a fishbone in my potatoes which, I assume, came from the grouper than I had ordered. I wanted to request a refund for the gratuities from the dinners but, the guest services lines were always too long. I guess that I wasn’t the only one with questions or issues. During one session with a guest services agent, I informed her that I wanted to speak with someone to discuss the issues that I had encountered. She directed me to the cruise consultant (Emmanuel), who was surprised that she had done so since his job was to set up future cruises. He was gracious enough to listen and write down my concerns. He stated that he would make sure that the information was forwarded to the guest services manager. The crew for the most part were upbeat and friendly. But there were several who were rude (one pushed me aside as I was getting back onboard after a trip to one of t islands). No “excuse me” no apology. Oher crew members were not proficient enough with English to assist with questions or issues that we had. Also, the internet café’s computers were ridiculously slow. What should have taken no more than 2 to 3 minutes took almost ten. I Sat there wondering if this was intentional to generate more revenue. My wife and I cruise often and this was the first time in 20 plus years of cruising that we wanted to leave a cruise early. On the plus side, the ship itself was beautiful, the theater shows were excellent, the fitness center was nice and the price oaid fir the cruise was very reasonable. But all of the positives were offset by the overwhelming number of issues. MSC is now on our list of “never again” cruise lines. Read Less

The cruise ship was horrible, they staff was rude and discourteous, and unprofessional to say the least. My entire birthday trip was ruined due to the rudeness and discrimination that was evident on the ship. My husband tried to surprise me with a cake at dinner and cake order was wrong and was delivered to a different restaurant. Often time room was left a mess and had to call customer service to have them come out to re- clean the room. The day of embark was horrible we were rushed and an employee came banging on our door demanding us to leave, without offering any help. Yelling and cursing at me directly while visibly pregnant and in front of my young children. The worse cruise line ever, and I have been on several and nothing compares to this one. This cruise ship needs to be closed down permanently or serious training needs to take place. Read Less

MSC Divina is a beautiful ship every detail from the staircases to the marble and the decor is immpeccable. We had a balcony room so it was spacious compared to other cruise liners. There wasn't much to do for anyone whos not a gambler or wants to sit at the bar all day.. When we boarded the ship we were hoping to get into the pools however they were all drained and stayed that way with nets on them. So we ended up just touring the ship and then went to the Theatre to catch the Witches of Paris which was phenomenal. The following day we we're in the Bahamas so not sure if they had the pools open at this time but we spent most of our day off ship. After getting back on the ship at 5PM we went to our stateroom and changed, grabbed food and wanted to head to the pool and the nets were over it again. There was no gift shop or any store anytime before 9PM which I found odd. They should have soemthing open so we can purchase little things like toothbrushes, toothpaste, sun block, advil ect... Food was better at the buffet than thier specialty resturant "The Black Crap". The customer service was not what I am used to when traveling but it wasn't absolutely terrible either. Since getting off the ship I have been trying to get in contact with someone in lost and found and I have sent Emails trying to see if I had left an item behind. When I call I get sent to a voicemail only not to hear anything back from anyone and everytime I send an email I get one in return asking to allow 21 buisness days before they can tell me wether or not my item has been left on the ship? I have never been on a cruise or any hotel where it took that long to get some kind of response. I have sailed with Carnival, Disney and Royal Carribean and it was no trouble to get someone to call you back wether it be for questions regarding your bill or a lost item. I also didn't feel that the daily service fee was appropriate for the serivce we were given. Over all I will not sail the Divina but may try the other ships. Read Less

Our recent trip aboard the MSC Divina was a lot more than we expected. The ship is beautiful and the crew is great. We loved the entertainment committee. Ten wonderful young men and women that made every venue fun. The shows are the BEST at sea. The cabins are the largest for a regular balcony room than most other ships (and I have been on quite a few). The public areas are beautiful. The food is good. Lots of Pizza and pasta,as you would expect from this Italian ship. Our only complaint was the in room TV service. People need to be able to watch movies when they relax in their cabins. There were not very many to choose from and the same ones played over and over. In fact, we liked it so much I booked a large group in February for the same cruise. MSC has wanted to attract American cruisers for many years and I think they have finally gotten it right. Read Less

Our cruise, February 2014, sponsored by our church, was wonderful, relaxing, and most enjoyable. The luxury of sailing on a brand new, beautiful ship was most exciting. Walking through parts of the ship was a labor of love as we saw the beautiful décor of lounges, dining areas, libraries, hallways, and the atrium. The entertainment provided every evening was, without a question, the most outstanding we have ever experienced on any of the cruises we have taken over the years. By far, the most outstanding. The food was good, the staff in all areas was courteous and attentive. MSC provided our church group with all the facilities; rooms, theater, dining options, to make our cruise a great success. As a result, very large percentage of our cruisers signed up for our Feb. 7-14, 2015 cruise before disembarking. Read Less
