COVID19 and Crowds everywhere.

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Emerald Princess

The food and service was wonderful. Panana Canal was the Panana Canal. Cartegena was lovely as was Huatulco. Punteranus not so nice. 2 things ruined this cruise for us. 3 of us got COVID 19 around day 4 or 5. There was no screening and no masking at all. What made it worse was that everything was overcrowded. Hard to get a table at the buffet. Hard to get a seat in the theater. Everyting was ...

Challenges cruising with Holland America

We chose this cruise because it ended at our home port of Vancouver BC . It was also our first cruise with the Holland America line. Prior to boarding we had to sit on rows of chairs the were so close together that gave us a feeling of clostaphobia. Upon embarking we were informed that our suites had not been made available due to cleaning etc, so we had to find a spot to sit untill ...

I have been on many cruises with various lines and this ranks as the worst. This was a back to service cruise and had I been advised that from the beginning I probably wouldn’t have gone. The internet didn’t work half the time. The medallion worked for a few things the first week but did get better the second. Making reservations for the restaurants never worked correctly. My friend and I always ...

Not The Way It Used To Be

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Ruby Princess

We have sailed on many cruises and took this one because it has been a goal to see the Panama Canal and this one ended in San Francisco, an hour from home. From our first day on board it was clear that Princess has made cutbacks in all aspects of their operations. Limited cabin service, worn and or dirty cabin and balcony furniture, reduced options, quality and portions of food, limited ...

I know will all that is going on in the world today there is much that is changed. However, we pay the same and get shortchanged... We were tested 4 times, still had to wear masks, fine, I get it. Ship was at less than 50%, sadly this also meant you got 50% of the service. Some staff went above and beyond, other areas of the ship were very lacking in service. Large dining area on floor 15 ...

Well, let's see, where to start. We had tremendous problems with the Princess Medallion App, which is the only way to check in. Somehow my wife end up with two different profiles (I called them "good wife" and "bad wife") When I added her to my app, I now had 2 different traveling companions. Despite numerous calls to customer support, for several weeks no one was able to fix the problem. One can ...

Boring Cruise Ship

Embarkation went fine . The ship was clean and fresh. Our cabin was comfortable. Our cabin attendants were great. They got you anything you wanted or needed. We opted for anytime dining and were usually seared within 15 minutes. The food was very good with a good selection. If you don’t want to try anything there is always the classic menu available with steak, chicken or fish. all ...

Avoid this ship and probably this cruise line

This was our 12th cruise, 2d on HAL. What a disappointment! Ship is tired, scuffed, dirty and smelly. Needs a major renovation. Design is dated, but more important it's just old and not well maintained. The ambience of the ship transferred to many (but by no means all) of the staff, many of whom seemed just as tired as the ship and were simply going thru the motions. The food was ...

I won't use Princess again. Always trouble with time lines including being crammed into a room before embarkation. 3 of 5 tenders were down for Panama excursions which left little time on land, 7:30 am early disembarkation turned into 8:00am. Food in MDR started out fine but got worse - poor cuts of meat. We were told to get our outgoing mail in by a certain time each port. Problem? They ...

This is not the company that we knew, our previous cruise was 5 years prior to this and we have 16 Princess cruises to measure this disaster against, We chose the cruise which was over Christmas and New Year going through the Panama Canal. Embarkation took over 2 hours , we stood outside in a line with no refreshment , check in was tedious. Christmas decorations were minimalistic with ...
