First Cruise on RCCL Liberty of the Seas

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Liberty of the Seas

I've cruised on Disney, NCL, Holland America and Celebrity cruise lines. I had high expectations for RCL. The food in the main dining room was awful. The food in the buffet was better, but hit or miss. Other than the fruit, the room service breakfast wasn't edible. The beds in our balcony cabin (8686) and the adjacent cabin (8684) had mattresses that severely sagged in the middle of each twin bed ...

Incredibly Disappointing in Every Way

The first issue that we experienced was that the ship had engine trouble and we were told that we would not be able to make the Jamaica port.. As this cruise only had 2 ports of call, the other being Labadee, obviously Jamaica was the main reason for taking this specific cruise tour. The small amount of refund offered, done with onboard credit is rather insulting given that we also had to pay ...

We boarded the ship after standing in line for over an hour. The check in staff was friendly and efficient although the porter asked for an additional tip and surprise surprise, one of our bags did not make it to our room. The two staff members standing at the door did not welcome us or even acknowledge that we had come onboard. It became very apparent to us very quickly that this was going to be ...

Great for 16 year olds but lousy for parents and older teens

Went on Liberty of the Seas on December 25, 2013 with my husband, daughter (16) and son (19). My daughter had a great time, loved being in the teen club and meeting other kids. My son was too old for the teen groups and not old enough for the over 21 activities, so there wasn't too much for him to do. My husband and I were shocked by the terrible service. The staff stood around talking to each ...

Wow! That is the best way to describe this experience. This ship is beautiful in every way...BUT, it is the most disorganized and disappointing cruise that I have ever been on. I have only been on Princess (5 times) and Holland America (1time). So, that is where I have to draw my comparisons from. We traveled home from this vacation embarrassed for the staff of this ship. The cruise director and ...

Very Disappointed Avoid Royal

Wow, where to begin. I have been on 20+ cruises. Mnay different lines over the years. Wanted to try Royal. WARNING THIS IS LONG! Well, at the beginning I guess. Embarkation was a mess. Royal seems to be the only line that does not let passengers carry on a bottle of wine. They stopped and took it away. Annoying especially since I do not drink. The other half does. Then proceeded to ...

We were so looking forward to our 4-night getaway to de-stress; a 4 night cruise on RCCL Liberty of the Seas on November 17, 2011. From the moment we arrived it was like a chapter of Murphy's Law: Livid on the high seas. We arrived at Port Everglades at 12:30pm. The line to enter the check-in reached around three sides of the terminal, in the beating Florida sun. My companion is ...
