Dining at sunset on formal night. We dressed but many folks did not. We wished we didn't also (less clothes to pack!)

Will NEVER travel Royal Caribbean again.

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Independence of the Seas

Terrible on almost all counts: Food: Main dinning room is horribly overcrowded, making it difficult, if not impossible to move around. The food is mediocre at best. The Windjammer buffet is actually better than the main dinning room, but just barely. Staff and servers are completely indifferent, with very few exceptions. Unlike every cruise I've ever taken, food was sparce. The buffet, ...

We had never been on a cruise before. Glad we went. Glad it was a big ship, seas were calm. 2 Ports, Haiti and Jamaica, both were interesting, worth it. We sat alone in the Main dining room, which was okay, but we sort of got 'forgotten' due to the waiters being so busy with the larger tables. We ate at the buffet Windjammer mostly. Food was pretty good. Nothing out of the ordinary, nothing ...

We had a cruise certificate for a discount on a Royal Caribbean Cruise we had gotten from Hilton. Only RCL goes to Haiti, so we figured we'd make use of the certificate by going somewhere no one else goes to. The cruise also went to Falmouth, Jamaica. Big Mistake. The moment we got onto the cruise ship, we went straight to our room. The trouble started immediately. People were smoking pot ...

Corporate should be embarrassed by this ship. Rooms are dated and worn-out as are the public areas. Our cabin steward Magda and Fernando at the Champagne Bar gave excellent service. The rest seemed disonnected, confused and uninformed. Many public areas had off odor of sewage. Public area bathrooms were dirty and unkept. In one bathroom near Johnny Rockets wife had to hold her nose from the ...

Excellent customer service, great food, and staff. The staff went over and beyond to make sure we were comfortable... The windjammer staff and the main dining room staff was absolutely outstanding. They have royal babies and tots from ages 6 months to 36 months and other stuff for other age groups. Mini golf for the family to enjoy. Shows in the royal theater which I loved. They have a lot of ...

I'm wring after just returning a couple of days ago from a 5 night cruise on Independence of the Seas. This was our 2nd cruise this year on this ship and our 3rd cruise this year with your cruise lines.  We choose Independence because we had a remarkably great time in February and it was not the same experience at all this time, which was sad because we choose to book 3 rooms and bring our ...

We cruised on the Independence of the Sea on 11/9/19 to the Western Caribbean. We always liked the Freedom class ships and have been on a number of them. We had not been on this ship since 2015. Since we flew in the same day of the cruise and arrived in Ft. Lauderdale at 8:30 AM we waited at the airport until 10 AM and took the taxi to the cruise port, like 3 miles away. Arriving at the cruise ...

Well just got back from 7 night Caribbean cruise on Independence of the seas and it was great. Cabin was spacious and clean. Entire ship was updated with something for everyone. Huge ship but not the size of the Oasis class. Smooth sailing as well, hardly felt any motion. Plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy. Ports of call were good. Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Jamaica, and Labadee, Beach ...

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Independence of the Seas

We wanted to get across the Atlantic without flying. This ship has exceeded our expectations. I love that even though they refurbished it, they have preserved the deck where you can walk around the whole ship outside and the stream/sauna changing room in the fitness center is still open to everyone. It doesn’t feel like the money grab that some do. The food has been consistently excellent, ...
