Doomed Cruise on Emerald Princess

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Emerald Princess

My sister and I chose this cruise because she is a Platinum Medallion member and has had many positive experiences on Princess cruises. As a relatively new cruiser, I was looking forward to celebrating my 70th birthday in Cherbourg, France. We shared an inside cabin on Caribe deck 10. Our cabin steward was very friendly and attentive. The My Way Dining experience was great, although the staff was ...

Worst cruise I have ever been on.

Embarkation was a nightmare, 2500 people all lined up for 3 hours at the same time, a disaster. No internet for 13 days, and many days no TV. Had to line up on day 2 for a Covid test, despite already having to provide a negative covid test two days before boarding?? 95% of passengers never wore masks, which was highlighted by dozens of passengers having covid after day 2 tests who were ...

Relaxing cruise with interrupted Wi-Fi

We picked this transitional cruise because the 6 days at sea gave us plenty of time to relax. Embarkation was chaotic. We had used the Medallion app to provide all required info well ahead of time. We were given an 11:30 check-in time. We found that the Priority line for boarding (Platinum and Elite level passengers) was significantly longer and slower than the other line. No explanation given ...

Princess Misses the Mark

I booked my lifetime dream Transatlantic 23 day cruise aboard Emerald Princess, which would be my first cruise on Princess. I've been on many, many cruises before, and am not one to complain, nor to have unrealistic expectations of what a cruise line can deliver. For a line that is supposed to compete with Celebrity (which I have sailed several times), Princess fell short in several ways. ...

The cruise was as expected with one exception described below. The itinerary was excellent and the staff was outstanding.

The exception to the quality of this cruise was the internet. I have over 600 days on Princess, and I have grown up with the internet service beginning with 2 computers in a closet about 25 years ago. This time, the internet was available, but the speed was the worst imaginable. You are used to a speed of over 100mbs. The speed of this connection was 5KBS. It would load email if you left it on ...

Princess Cruise Management in Trouble

My husband and I chose the transatlantic cruise for the itinerary stops in both Europe and the UK. We love cruising and, until now, loved Princess. We are more than slightly disappointed, in particular because Princess Customer Support has become impossible to reach and has blocked all abilities to contact them directly for resolution. We are Platinum wanted very much to get to Elite soon. The ...

Transatlantic featuring great ports & good wine, but covid and disembarkation fiasco ruined the experience.

This is a long and detailed "Log" style review. It's pretty positive until near the end, when everything went downhill to an unacceptable level. If you just want the summary just scroll all the way down. Emerald Princess 4-16-22 We left home and met our traveling friends at their home at 8:30. We managed to get all the suitcases into their vehicle and we are off to Port Everglades. We ...

Basically chose this cruise because of the itinerary. We had never cruised on Princess before, so we were excited to give them a try. The ship itself was fine. Great venues, well-appointed and designed for the most part. The stateroom was satisfactory as well. The exception to this is the World Fresh Market (Lido Deck). Too small and compact. Even though there were two sides, there was ...

Worst cruise I’ve ever been on.

Ship was understaffed. Food was the worst quality on a cruise that I’ve ever had, tough steaks, overcooked fish, sauces that were gelatinous and unpalatable. Breakfast buffet servers routinely ignored passengers causing lines. Total fiasco at Southampton on May 1 causing numerous passengers to miss flights. It was as if they had never operated a cruise during Covid. Passengers staying onboard were ...

First I've cruised with Princess 17 times. I've always enjoyed the cruises. This cruise was a disaster from start to finish.I am slightly disabled and need a wheelchair to get on the ship. It wasn't there although it was requested. The line to get onboard was miles long and not moving. I don't know what the issue was. My steward informed me that they only cleaned the room once a day now. ...
