Aging Princess

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Crown Princess

We chose this cruise because we enjoyed a similar Princess Cruise through the Panama Canal and area. We were disappointed in this one. The ship really shows its age--rust on the balcony, scratches on the elevator doors, worn carpets. Princess has a major problem with communication. Most of the crew speaks broken English, and it's difficult to understand directions. But the pre-cruise ...

We have been exclusive to Princess the past few years in our cruising. I feel compelled to share my experience. Things happen but this was too much... The ship and the itinerary: We are not fans of days at sea, we chose this cruise because there would be only 3 days at sea. The generator issue is a bigger problem than they admit to. Princess cancelled the day at their private island which ...

A lovely 10 day Caribbean sailing on the Crown

Embarkation: We arrived at Port Everglades, sometime around 10:30am, and they had not yet begun security screening in the terminal. There were probably 50 people ahead of us in line. Once they opened up, and went through the metal detectors, we went to the wine desk to pay the corkage on the extra bottles we were bringing on board. Simple math seemed problematic at first, but eventually ...

This cruise line will nickel and dime you to death. My recommendation would be to find an all inclusive line. This ship is in dire need of mechanical repair. not to just paint over rust to hide it from uninformed tourists. The carpet is stained the walls need painting . The entire ship needs an upgrade. Choose another one, preferably one where you know all charges before you leave the port. One ...

I was with a group of over 50 from our neighborhood. We did this two years ago on another princess cruise ship with much better results. By the time we left over 15 of us were sick. The gym area is ground zero for passing germs and not only were you it of wipes one day but there was NEVER any attendant in the area to make sure those machines were wiped down after use. Yet you couldn’t walk ...

First Time on Princess Cruise

We picked this cruise for the itinerary and length of cruise. My initial thought was that Princess and Celebrity are about on par, which really is not the case. Likes: Ship and Entertainment: There are lots of little hidden spots to find a place to sit and relax. The entertainment is really good on Princess and there are lots of little venues to see the entertainment. Lots of music ...

Way Past Its Prime

The Southern Caribbean itinerary was very attractive, but we should have done more research on the ship, which was launched in 2006 and badly needs a complete overhaul and refurbishing. The engines are seriously in need of repair, as other reviewers have noted. The engines' poor performance slowed the ship so that one scheduled stop was cancelled, and we have been late in arriving at others, ...

The itinerary, 10 days southern Caribbean, but we had to skip one port of call, because of the generator the ship couldn't go full speed and two other port of calls the times where shortened. All in all it was a nice cruise, friendly staff, good food, the entertainment had a lot to be desired. The cruise Director was great. the pizza and ice cream were good. We were always able to find chairs at ...

Like the Crown Princess - gym is excellent - many cardio machines, weight machines and free weights. I had never been to some of the ports. Queen Sea Poker tournament Leaves from and returns to Fort Lauderdale. Love the Medallion- love the “ on demand movies” in the room. - great variety and new ones daily ! I was SO disappointed with the food choices- but on the “ up ...

We choose this trip because it was going to our favorite stops with Curacao and Grenada being the top of our list. Several weeks prior to our trip we were notified that Grenada had been deleted from our travels due to engine mechanical problems. When we tried to call Princess (twice) to inquire why Grenada was deleted we gave up waiting to talk to someone after waiting for over an hour the first ...
