This was a qualifying casino VIP cruise for a future super VIP casino cruise. The casino staff did a great job with various enjoyable activities for the casino VIP passengers. Casino waiters need to pay more attention to drink orders, get the details right. The main stage entertainment shows are stale, same shows different dancers. The comedians were excellent. My biggest complaint is that the steam room in the mens changing room was "under maintenance" for the entire cruise. When questioning how long the steam room would be down, the spa manager took our cabin numbers to notify us when it was working again............I got off the ship this morning, still waiting............The spa treatments and staff were excellent. The fitness center equipment was in good condition and the view from the treadmills terrific. The food was average to above average, always plentiful and available. Dominica and Grenada were ports I haven't visited before which added appeal to the itinerary. I would definitely cruise on the Crown and with Princess again. Read Less

WE wanted to take this Cruise as it went into Deep southern Caribbean to Bonaire & Aruba. Beautiful places to visit. The cruise was perfect in every way - ship, food, entertainments, games & rooms.. Very relaxing with lots of Canadians to get away from the Snow..We are 78 & 82 and enjoyed it!! The ship decor & shopping & guest & excursions desks were perfect. Princess gave us all a shopping bonus for a minor problem. The weather was beautiful (75 to 89) each day - great for swim & sun.. The friends on board were very cordial to talk with.. Crown Princess is a smaller cruise ship with 2500 passengers or so Not 7000 as some Mega ships are now. We are planning to cruise again with Princess again as they have a well kept ship with health for all most important! If you have never been on a cruise ship, you are really missing a great relaxing trip! Read Less

I have cruised 4 times on this ship and it is clearly past its prime. We had a wonderful cruise to the So Caribbean, great weather and good itinerary. We had to skip Princess Cays but were given OBC of $120pp to make up for it. I was able to get some credit for unused punches on an old coffee card and a barrel chair in the room. We had a balcony mid ship cabin B430, the mattress was terrible. They managed to bring us one replacement but could not find a second one. When I say terrible it actually had a huge depression clearly visible through the sheets. OUr cabin steward was okay but not great, the room was never vacuumed in 10 days. The balcony chairs had residue and the banister was badly worn. I love the layout of the ship with 5 pools, as usual the chairs were reserved by 8am. The movies were pretty good. Entertainment was okay but the passenger "games" were juvenile. Lots of cut backs such as no napkins given with cocktails, piles of used dishes on the open decks, limited bar service around the pools. Never saw anyone cleaning in the common areas except in the bathroom. The Crown does have a good library. Disembarkation was fast. We easily made a 10:15 flight back home. Everyone seemed healthy. We had great service in Anytime Dining with Yulia. Buffet set up is terrible and seating was sometimes very difficult. Read Less

I chose this cruise for the itinerary. I was pleasantly surprised that only one of five ports had other ships in port, so the ports were not overcrowded. The ship's crew was warm, welcoming, and performed like a well-oiled machine. They were entertaining, caring, and made us feel special. We sailed in Club Class, which was stellar. The service was superb, the food was excellent, and we never had to wait in line to be seated. The Land Sailing excursion in Bonaire was my favorite. Donna and her staff thoroughly explained how to sail in the Blocart. Everything Donna described was spot-on through the experience. It was easy to learn, and my face hurt from smiling through the whole experience. This experience is something special: small group, off the beaten path, and when you're sailing, you cannot think about anything else while you're sailing, so it's like meditation - good for you! I also loved the St. John Champagne Catamaran Sail excursion - the crew was superb, extremely attentive, and fun. This was our 21st Princess Cruise, and I loved every part of it! Princess always makes me feel like, well, a princess. I feel like a VIP. Well cared for, special, and comfortable. On this particular cruise, I was able to forget about everything at home, work, and the news. I highly recommend Crown Princess, this itinerary, and make sure you take some stellar excursions! This cruise line will nickel and dime you to death. My recommendation would be to find an all inclusive line. This ship is in dire need of mechanical repair. not to just paint over rust to hide it from uninformed tourists. The carpet is stained the walls need painting . The entire ship needs an upgrade. Choose another one, preferably one where you know all charges before you leave the port. One engine had been out for a minimum of two cruises before ours ,and is still out on the cruise they are on now, severely affecting the stabilizers.many people were seasick ,the customer service blamed it on rough seas ,I have sailed for many years ,I know rough seas. We didn’t have any. This boat should have been flat as solid ground. But listening to people at meals and how I’ll they were spoke volumes.i would never recommend this cruise line. My understanding is they have a new CEO. he needs to take this ship and see if it is acceptable to him.Sheila Carroll Read Less

This was a first cruise for me and the first time in the Caribbean. I wish there would have been something or someone to explain how some of the options on the ship worked. The fine dinning was phenomenal! Excellent food and for the most part great wait staff! We always choose to share a table with others and got to meet many people from various walks of life! Our steward was wonderful! We felt very pampered and taken care of. I would have liked to have had more of the gameshow type entertainment during the day rather than so late at night. There was not enough seating for everyone at most of these events. They were very entertaining though!! The shore excursions need to have more descriptive write ups there were some we were disappointed with and some that were more that what we expected! The one piece of advice I would give to a first time cruiser is try everything!! Don't be afraid of it! You can always leave or not eat it but you'll never know till you try!! One last comment If you continue to do the Voice of the Ocean you need to make it better. I had intended to be in this when I signed up to cruise on the Princess but when I realized that it was karaoke that turned me off. On the first night we were there in plenty of time but did not get a vote and were told it was because we came after it started and that was not the case. On the second night of the tryouts the blond in the entertainment crew told us we had to vote as a group because we choose to share a table with some people we met on the ship. She was not nice about it when I tried to explain that we were not a group. Made me very mad. We also made sure we were there for the finally and at the correct door to get the clickers but could not get them because they were not out yet. The people that came close to the time of the performance got the clickers. There should be a way to go on the medallion app and vote. That would be easier for all. Read Less

Embarkation: We arrived at Port Everglades, sometime around 10:30am, and they had not yet begun security screening in the terminal. There were probably 50 people ahead of us in line. Once they opened up, and went through the metal detectors, we went to the wine desk to pay the corkage on the extra bottles we were bringing on board. Simple math seemed problematic at first, but eventually everyone agreed that when bringing on 5 bottles, I only had to pay corkage for three of them. A quick show of our medallions and passports and we were directed to sit downstairs. A female local agent with an alpha-male complex insisted that the priority lounge was only for elite, and not for platinum. I'm guessing that some folks complained, so her supervisor came over and escorted us upstairs, but we ended up in a room separate from the elite, with no amenities. I believe we ended up boarding around 11. We stopped by our cabin to drop off our carry-on bags and wine. The steward was still cleaning our room and seemed a bit surprised, we excused ourselves and walked around the ship a bit. The dining room wasn't open yet, so we went up to the buffet, which was thankfully/momentarily quiet. Dining: We ended up eating most of our meals in the buffet, as it was very convenient to our cabin location (R744). We only ate in the main dining room once, and that was for lunch on our last sea day. It was easily the worst meal of the entire cruise, with matzoh balls that were more like rubber balls, in a ruddy looking broth. The dining staff on the Lido deck were all very friendly and accommodating. We also dined at the Crown Grill three times, and one time each at Sabatini's, Crab Shack and Salty Dog Pub. The food and service at the Crown Grill was mostly excellent, except for our last night, when a newer server seemed to be mostly lost. Sabatini's featured the older menu. Crab Shack was "meh", not good, not awful, but certainly not worth the same $29 per head that the Crown Grill charges. The platinum/elite lounge held in sky walkers was crowded most days, but they had plenty of servers, so there was never much of a wait for a drink. Carmen was holding court in Vines, and she was clearly the queen bee. If only Princess, could clone her. Every ship needs a Carmen. Room service was also very efficient, I only wish there was more of a selection to choose from. Ship's condition: The ship was in overall good shape, with lots of work constantly going on. The only exceptions would be dinged up cabin walls, and the gold foil adhesive wrap that they used to line the interior of the aft-elevators. It was nicked and torn, and looked very cheap. Surely, they could have found a better way to refurbish these elevators. The medallion net was lightening fast, although using the app to locate your travel-mates was always good for a laugh. While my wife was sitting on the promenade deck, reading her book, the app said she was in someone's cabin on deck 8. Thank goodness I'm not the jealous type, lol! Read Less

We chose this cruise because we enjoyed a similar Princess Cruise through the Panama Canal and area. We were disappointed in this one. The ship really shows its age--rust on the balcony, scratches on the elevator doors, worn carpets. Princess has a major problem with communication. Most of the crew speaks broken English, and it's difficult to understand directions. But the pre-cruise instructions seem inadequate. Example: We wanted a restaurant where we could dine with a set number of people each night. That turned out to be Botticelli's, but communications were so inadequate that we learned too late that this place was booked for the cruise. Also, we wanted to take advantage of an expedited exit from the ship--we received a form, but it, too, was poorly worded; we missed out on the deal. Food overall was good, though not excellent. Diners needed to pay extra for high quality. Sabbatini's proved to be very good. The lack of communications by Princess extended to the shore excursions. We booked three of them, and only two were worth it. The first, a trip from St. Thomas to St. John's, included an hour-long small boat excursion across choppy seas. The trip by train was excellent. Also, Barbados had an excellent meal included. We saw only one of the entertainment venues--my wife and I split on our revues on the Magic Show musical. I rated it contrived and trite. The room was OK, I would definitely book at least a mini-suite. Out steward scored highly in our ratings. We will not cruise with Princess again. My wife doesn't want to cruise anymore period. We've cruised 12 times and so we know what to expect on a cruise and we've been pleased in the past. We have never given a negative cruise review before this cruise. Our cruise on the Crown Princess to the Southern Caribbean was very disappointing. The trouble began as we pulled away from the port in Ft. Lauderdale and the Captain announced that one of the diesel generators was not working. He said that it would not affect the safety of the ship but we would be traveling at a slower speed. As a result we would miss our first port at Princess Cay. They gave each passenger a $75. shipboard credit. It was disappointing to miss the beach day but what can you do. He also stated that the slower speed would affect our arrival and departure times at the other five ports. We had scheduled our shore excursions privately and caused issues trying to adjust our excursion times because of the early departure times. We were also not able to port at Antiqua or St. Kitts. The Captain blamed it on strong winds but passengers saw another ship making port at St. Kitts. Many passengers were upset that we did not port in 3 of the 6 ports. Many wondered if were were sailing at full power, would we have been able to make the ports? Princess eventually said passengers would be granted a 35% discount on a FUTURE sailing. A significant refund would have been more appropriate. The condition of the ship was not up the the standards from our past cruises. Our cabin was always clean and we really liked the bed and linens. Sheets of wall paper was literally pealing off three different areas in our state room. It had a small piece of scotch tape trying to hold some of it up. We asked our steward if it could be fixed the first nigh. Someone tried some stick substance to try to hold it up unsuccessfully. It was still hanging on the last day. At least 3 of the ships elevators were not working during the cruise the entire time causing sometimes long waits, especially for the passengers with disabilities. Some trim around elevators was being held on with masking tape. The food was good, almost every employee were working their hardest and doing a great job. The entertainment was okay, the first comedian excellent. Princess is doing a much better job at not pushing drinks like many ships. The new Medallion pass seems to work well although we didn't use all the benefits of it. Boarding was pretty quick and efficient with the Medallion. We used the self walk off to depart and it worked well with one exception. The employee in charge of our assigned common room did not control the passengers. A fairly significant ignored his directions to have a seat and instead lined up blocking doors. The employee said that he wasn't going to argue about it and let them do as they pleased. I would consider this a safety issue. We sent an email to the Princess CEO just explaining the disappointment, especially about the ship not running a normal speed. We were not asking for any compensation but wanted to let them know that it was not a good Princess experience. We received a phone call from someone in the customer relations who said they were sorry for our experience but they were not providing any other compensation. We again explained that we weren't asking for anything else, but let them know that we probably would not use Princess for future cruises. Read Less

This particular cruise has a wonderful itinerary! Plus, I like Princess! If you are reading this, you are doing so because you are thinking about booking or already have on the Crown Princess. Rest assured, the Crown was WONDERFUL!! Yes, she is an older gal, showing her age a little but still a great ship with a spectacular crew! Yes, there was still a generator problem, not allowing us to go full speed, so our port times had to be adjusted, but it wasn’t much of a problem. We did excursions in every port (through Princess) so all the times had to be adjusted, which they did. If shopping is important, it did limit our time in port to do that, but always enough time to pick up a t-shirt. Love the medallion!! If you are traveling with friends or family it’s awesome to be able to locate or text them! Makes a lot of things wayyyy easier! Plus, they have dedicated support people to help you with any issues you have or don’t understand! Movies under the Stars! I just love it!! Like going to a drive in! Plus, blankets & free Popcorn! We had a fabulous time!! I spent a lot of time on Cruise Critic before we embarked, and I have come to conclusion that some folks are NEVER happy, it made me nervous about my choice to go on the Crown. I am happy to tell you, everything was absolutely wonderful!! The food, the staff, the room, no complaints! Go with a wanderlust spirit, nothing’s perfect, but it was close! We did snorkeling excursions in every port, every one different, and always beautiful just like the islands themselves Read Less

The Crown must lie heavy on the brow of Carnival Corporation. She really needs an overhaul. A generator malfunctioned so the ship could not make speed. Ports were dropped and stays were shortened. Too slow. We did receive some onboard credit. The majority of people we spoke to said the mattresses were like hammocks. Too soft. The coffee in the buffet was so thick and syrupy that a remedy of half coffee and half hot water was used. Too thick. The ship seemed uncomfortably cool in cabins and public areas. Too cold. The cruise director was taking a break from the ship and he did a fantastic job! Too bad. On a brighter note, the ship participated in setting a Guiness World Record for the most wedding renewals by three ships at sea. The Captain and staff did a remarkable job of making this such a memorable moment for over 1400 people. The Crown provided flowers, special food treats, shopping discounts, specialty drinks, and free dinners in the pay as you go dining rooms. Special certificates were provided to help remember the occasion. This was so well done that I have great expectations things will improve. Read Less

We chose this cruise because there were three ports we hadn't see yet Grand Turk, Saint Kits, and Antigua. We had booked our flights our selves and within ten days of departure we were informed that Princess changed the method they allow passengers to board. Were were assigned a boarding time of 2:30pm, which caused us to change our travel plans. However, we were able to board by 1:30. We also had to change our return flight at a considerable additional cost due to a miscommunication from Princess and take an excursion instead of siting at the airport for hours. Even with the glitches embarkation and disembarkation went smoothly. The ship, was in need of repair, i.e., one of the public bathrooms had a tile that was "glued" on with chalking. A good number is deck chairs had paint splatter on them. It is scheduled for renovation in 2020. The entertainment was mediocre to poor compared to other cruises we have taken. The Port information seminars were nothing more than a sell job of the shops. The food in the main dinning room were OK. The anytime setting fit our excursion schedule and meeting different people at each meal is one of the reason to cruise. The food however was just OK and the service was very slow and on some days even slower. We tried to stay away from cafeteria as it was not worth the effort with even slower almost nonexistent, we would rather eat at the Salty Dog. The hamburgers and hot dogs were pretty good and the service was fast. Due to a broken meat grinder they were unable to serve hamburgers for about half of the cruise but instead of not offering hamburgers they substitute steak. Attention to detail could be improved. We enjoyed every bit of the Eco-Kayaking, Bird Island, Snorkel, Beach & Hike excursion at Antigua. The kayaking was leisurely and relaxing. The hike at Bird Island would have been better if is was before the free Rum Punch as the hike was up a steep narrow path and after a few Rum Punches not so easy. The view at the top was worth it though. We went Whale watching at St. Lucia and saw a large pod of Dolphins but no whales. The 4x4 Safari & Shipwreck Snorkel excursion at Barbados interesting with a tug boat and 18 the Century French Masted sailing ship. However the 4X4 Safari ride sitting in the back of a pickup truck was not worth it. At St. Kits we took the Scenic Railway Ride & Coastal Cruise with the cruise abroad a catamaran very relaxing with attentive crew. However, the train ride back around the island was a bit too long. We originally sat on the top open deck of the first car but ended up going below due to my asthma being irritated by the engine exhaust. At St. Thomas we went on the Coral World, Sea Lion Swim & Scenic Drive excursion. I wouldn’t call it a scenic drive as it was through the town. The Swim with the Sea Lions was very informative and a bit intimidating. These are not your harbor seals but the much larger Southern Seal. The excursion wasn’t very long, which was a good thing as there wasn’t a whole lot of other things to see or do at the Coral World. Gibb's Cay Stingray Snorkel & Conch Demonstration at Grand Turk was great with the Rays swimming all around. Sometimes it took a bit to keep one’s balance when the rays were brushing up against use as we stood in the wast deep clear water. Read Less

We wanted to get out of the cold so we booked the Crown Princess to the Caribbean. Our first sign that things weren't going well was that no one could sign onto the Medallion.net to get the internet and free wi-fi that was advertised. After an hour and a half wait and one cruise member helping, we finally got it. Before I go any further, let me say this was our 24th cruise. Our room had NO ventilation. It took until the evening of the next day to get service, even though our wonderful cabin steward, Weny, called right away. Weny, by the way, was the best thing about our cruise. A second sign we were in trouble was that they very insistently wanted us to share a table. Princess offers Anytime dining, and you are not supposed to have to share tables. Well, the whole thing is a joke. We were seated at a long upholstered table and our table had about 12 inches between each of the other tables. We were "sharing" anyway... no matter what they advertise. Then, came the food! I watched as several people sent back there food. A woman sitting next to us, asked what she was served and she was told it was what she ordered. She shook her head, tasted it, and said "no it is not, take it back." This went on through the whole cruise. My husband ordered the beef wellington one night a got a piece of beef 3 x 2 inches long. They had 2 choices for desserts; beside ice cream, and a sugar free one. Everything tasted the same. If you didn't go to dinner at 5 pm and wanted to sit by yourself, you couldn't get a table. Our last night, we went down at 5:30, the receptionist at the dining room told us that "It could be half hour, whole hour, or more" with a very snide look on her face. We went somewhere else to eat. She called us at 7 pm. to say our table was ready. Nothing that Princess advertises comes to fruition. I realize that many of the cruise employees don't speak fluent English but every cruise we have been on they have at least been able to understand what we were asking. On 4 different occasions I asked specific questions about specific things going on during the cruise. Each time I got the wrong answer. How do I know, because I wound up going to Guest Services to get the "correct" answer. One morning we were taking our breakfast outside. The automatic door closed on my husband as he was walking through it causing his hot coffee and breakfast to spill all over him. A staff member yelled at him and said he had to be more careful. My husband responded with, " I thought these were automatic doors", "No, no, they are not" said the staff member. To which my husband said the same thing, and, again, they employee said "they are not automatic doors." I finally got up and pointed to what was printed on the doors, themselves which was Automatic Doors. I told him what it said and he turned and walked away. Every other night, they included a sheet in our dinner menu to get us to order something from a restaurant you had to pay for. Shore excursions....This was the most disorganized set up I have every seen. You were supposed to "show up" on the pier for your individual excursion. Except, everyone else did too. You had to walk through the crowd trying to find out where your line was. It was funny because everywhere you went; sitting areas, outside elevators...speaking of elevators, half of them didn't work. People were complaining about the same things I am writing about now. Everyone kept saying, "I'm so glad you said something because I thought it was just me." The best places to eat were the Salty Dog and the Pizza by the pool. The piazza had some nice salads and paninis but there was hardly anything between the bread. Another problem was the PA system. You could never hear what they were saying....ever! Now, for the good parts: Weny, our cabin steward was great. And we made sure he knew we appreciated him. The first night's show was fabulous. The Princess singers, dancers, and orchestra were great. They did a Motown show that was super. And my hat's off to Sergi...he was great entertainer. This was our 4th Princess cruise. Would we do it again? NEVER! Read Less

We wanted to get out of the cold in New Jersey in Jan/Feb to a warmer place where we’ve never been before. We were joined by great friends of over 50yrs who recommended this tour, They’ve been on 10 Princess tours over the years. We were particularly pleased with our daily evening dining expierence. Every evening we dined in the DaVinci dining room @ 5:15 & besides the great food what made it even better was the service. Our waiter Ravi & our junior waiter Sandesh were nothing short of great. On thing that could have worked out a little better was the shore excursion & that was partly our fault. We booked the cruise in mid Nov for a Jan 26 departure but didn’t book the shore excursions until a few weeks later & some of the ones we wanted were already filled up. Our embarkation & dis embarkation went very smoothly. I was very impressed with the EZ bags & boarding option that afforded me. My boarding passes & 4 luggage tags were delivered to my room the afternoon before my departure. I put my 4 bags out when I returned from dinner & the next time I saw them was on the carousel at Newark airport the next day.. Fantastic! Read Less

I want to first thank you for the most wonderful time. This was our first cruise since 1968. I was in the U.S. Air Force for over 28 years and in 1968 I was transferred from Greece to Italy. We went from Iraklion Crete to Pireaus Greece to Brindisi Italy. Which was great but nothing compared to this cruise. To start, the agents along the way were all terrific in their information and guidance. The hotel B Ocean was extremely nice. The embarkation from the hotel to the ship was handled in a very efficient manner. Our cabin was superb with all the amenities and extras plus very spacious. My wife and I slept like angels (terrific bed). The service was unbelievable, with courteous and helpfulness. My wife and I preferred the anytime dining but a few times we made reservations. Every Dining facility was outstanding with a very warm atmosphere. The Da Vinci and Michelangelo had the most exquisite and appealing menus; please praise your chef and staff. We loved the Horizon Court, the variety of food was top quality; deserts were out of this world. All the entertainment could be rated with Las Vegas and Broadway. We enjoyed all the activities especially Trivia, Marriage Game & Battle of the Sexes. We cannot say enough about the service; from the customer service, waiters, cooking staff, our personal room steward (Edsel) and complete crew. Who ever thought up the EZ Check when disembarkation should be given a medal. It was such a great help to know your luggage was being taken care of, Thank You. My wife and I have traveled the world in the military (overseas for over 16 years) and this has been our dream of a lifetime. We chose this cruise mainly for the ports, three of which we had not been to before. This was our 19th cruise...third time on Princess. The cost was very reasonable. We were a little discouraged after booking, as there were several negative reviews of this ship. Sometimes I think more people write reviews who are discouraged with a cruise than those who were pleased with it. But I'm happy to say we were pleasantly surprised with everything. The food was very good, we enjoyed the shows, the ports, and the crew did a great job. We love to dance, and enjoyed spending time in the lounges with the good entertainment. There were some worn areas such as the elevators, but it didn't take away from our enjoyment. Weather was fantastic which always helps! It was the first time we did an Inside cabin. We weren't claustrophobic as I had worried about; however, we decided we will probably go back to Oceanview, as we like some light in the cabin, particularly when I'm trying to put on make-up. Embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly. We took advantage of the $25/pp fee in which your luggage is sent directly to the airport after putting it out the last night, and you don't have to bother with it till you arrive back at your airport. Would definitely recommend this ship. Read Less

I chose this line because my sister swears by it and the itinerary took us to an island we had never visited before. We chose a balcony cabin because that is the type we choose on all cruises we take. This one was advertised at over 200 sq. ft. but that must have included the large balcony because the cabin was too small to accommodate a couch as we have had on all of our other cruises. This meant any sitting was done on the bed except for the desk chair. Television had to be seen from the bed. that makes for very uncomfortable viewing. The shower was so tiny that it was impossible to wash below the knee without sticking your head out of the shower curtain as you bent over. Picking up the dropped soap was a challenge I had not expected. Most people would say that this is a minor issue and on our other cruises I would agree except for the shower. On this cruise it was difficult to get a seat in the venue where the the entertainment we wanted to see was presented, You had to get there before the first evening event or you never got a seat. This lead to our spending many evenings watching movies in our room. They did have an extensive list of recent films in addition to episodes of various television shows available. On the positive side, the staff was very good everywhere and the food was the best we have had on the four lines we have sailed. This ship is not new and the wear is visible in many places such as the public bathrooms and elevators. The cabin's condition was fine except the rug was stained. Read Less

Great anytime dining experience, the 'Vines' wine bar was a great way to socialize before dinner. Piazza entertainment each night while having a glass before dinner. Stateroom was clean and well kept by our able steward. The ports were all interesting in their own way, Dominica was still suffering the effects of a past hurricane, organization was lacking here. Movies under the Stars was a little hit or miss, sometimes the sound was just bad. Theatre productions were all top notch, the comedians were both very entertaining and kept it clean, thanks for that. The Medallion experience is very convenient, allowing you to access your drink package anywhere, anytime. Every beer on their menu was covered by the package and very few cocktails were excluded based on the $12 cap. You just pay the extra buck or two on your folio if your drink cost more than the cap. I tried mixed cocktails I would never otherwise pay for in real life! Fabulous coffee bars, I suggest going to the Coffee & Cones for your morning 'Americano', no line up. Usually a short line at the International Cafe coffee bar. Liquor bars everywhere! Wheelhouse was a great spot for a pre-dinner drink, often had a singer, guitarist performing. Read a travel guide and figure out what YOU want to see on the island and then walk ashore and hire a taxi yourself, negotiate a fair price and you will have a great experience. Don't worry about being back on time, nothing is that far away! Read Less

We booked this cruise as part of our community cruise. Expected to have many beach days, had only one! Having seen Princess Cay yet after cruising with Princess once before. One excursion badly deccribed and hated. Missed two stops that we had beach days schedule. Not enough seating for number of passengers on ship. Gave up many days trying to find a seat and went to cabin and sat on balcony. Never spent so much time in cabin before. Food tasteless and cold. Shows were poorly put together. Nevr have I seen so many unhappy people on a ship this unhappy and as result rude. My wife and I always said that we were sad a cruise was coming to an end, not this cruise, we couldn't wait to get off of this ship. Maintenence very, very poor. I would never go on another Princess cuise again, So the 35% discound for a following cruise they forget they ever gave to us. Read Less

Our opinion is that Princess has been sliding downhill since being purchased by Carnival. The dinner menu is small with fewer choices and the food is getting worse. All but one meal that we had was overcooked and tough. It takes a lot to make corn on the cob tuff to chew. The good thing about Princess is they have the Medallion Services to simplify your cruise. For those that are saying we don't know about cruising. This was out 9th Princess cruise and our 19th overall cruise. As always the crew is superb and very helpful. They do not push the specialty restaurants like other cruise lines do unless the food is doing that for them. The buffet has been redesigned over the years and is now two buffets separated by a wall causing a lot of pushing and bumping into by guest trying to get their food. The Medallion has streamlined the boarding and deboarding process. Read Less

I choose it because I would be in Aruba for my 75th birthday and I love Aruba. The age of the passengers was old old old. Not my cup of tea. I would not recommend princess if you want a younger crowd. They were also lacking in movie under the stars and some interesting activities on sea days and half port days. I understand that the ship is going in for another refurbishing in March. It needs it. I’ve been on 16 other princess cruises and I recommend doing the Royal, regal, or their newest ship as a lot more is offered. The explorers lounge had some great acts and games but never enough room for all the people. They should have used the fusion lounge as it is much bigger. Being out on deck I expected more from the movies under the stars and much time nothing was happening. Also, in the cabins there should be music stations for those wishing to just have some music without watching the tv screen. Read Less

We have been on Crown several times in the past two years. Not through wanting to go on this ship but because of the ports the ship would go into. We knew from a short e mail from Princess that we would not call at Princess Cays and times in other ports would alter, all due to a problem with one of their engines. Our first problem encountered was the television would not switch on. After calling the steward this was due to dead batteries in the hand controller and was remedied. The second problem was the bed. It seems the double bed is made with two single mattresses . However one mattress was higher than the other, this was not remedied. We have noticed that in the past two years there appears to be shortages of waiting staff in the main restaurant. This was evident every evening. On several nights on this cruise we would sit at our table and watch as the waiters scurried around through having too many tables to wait on. On one night the poor waiter was so confused my wife received a starter and having finished was taken away and ten minutes later he came back with another starter! The main course was often cold and sent back. The main course menu was substandard for a main restaurant, a burger, a Kentucky chicken piece, and rib of beef which had been slowly cooked was still tough as old boots. Princess no longer have a wine waiter and the responsibility remains with the normal waiting on table staff. Our conclusion was that all of these problems were down to “ saving money” The Horizon Court food is arguably better than the main restaurant. However, the English bacon looks like it is either undercooked or boiled. The fried eggs do not appear to be cooked but left under the heating lights awaiting someone to collect and hopefully by then fully cooked. I have to be truthful to say that after being on Celebrity last year, our opinion is that Princess will loose custom to the likes of Celebrity, their menu is far superior, their waiters do not have to serve as many tables, they have wine waiters and overall they are on a par in costs as Princess. Please owners of Princess you have a loyal bunch of clients, we are Platinium , but reduce as you continue will lose these loyal clients. Read Less

We went down on the 10 day To Barbados as a nice warm area there. We liked the time of year in January to escape the snows at home. Princess has good reviews and the cruise and food was great! We ate one night in the steak house and it was great and only cost an extra $28. Apiece and an excellent meal! All of the dinners in the main dining room were great every night! A good menu with a wide variety of selections and every night a new menu was very nice! The dining service was superb by our waiter Joel! Don’t buy the bar drink package it is overpriced at $700. Apiece and you can’t share it. No way could we have drank the 15 drink a days it offered! Our whole bar bill for 2 of us was less than that! And do bring on your own case of water and 2 bottles of wine for your room. I don’t like paying $2. Plus for bottles of water 5x a day! The spa was great I had several massages and Mildred the masseuse is the best! The daily lectures were very good to by staff. The fitness center was great and Igor the trainer was great! Very few come to the classes and it was really worth buying the class card as you get individual attention and training! The fitness center and spa are very clean to! The stateroom was very clean and twice daily service was very nice! Our steward Joel on the Emerald deck was great and the best ever! Since our cruise could not stop at 3 ports due to bad weather then Princess gave everyone a 35 percent credit off next cruise to use within a year. I thought this was very nice of them! I will definitely cruise with Princess again the service and food was superb! Read Less
