Murder at Sea?

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Costa Mediterranea

Why Costa? - If you know me, you know I'm a die-hard Holland America fan. Then why in the HAL did I elect to cruise "Italian Style" with Costa Cruise lines? Well, let's go back about a year ago, when we initially scheduled. SunFlower (my better-half) wanted to do a Western Caribbean, which included Key West. She's never been there and was really looking forward to hoisting a few at Sloppy Joes, ...

Back from a 7 day voyage on the Costa med all I can say is what a value for your vacation dollar. I have been on many lines and I kid you not I really enjoyed cruising Italian style. Embarkation: Arrived at 2:00pm in my cabin by 2:15 need I say more A+ Cabin I had a cat 9 balcony and it was bigger the most lines standard cabin. Loved the couch and the balcony was huge. Cabin gets an A, however ...

This was my 19th cruise overall and my first on Costa. I am really going to tell you how I viewed this cruise and I hope others won't jump all over me. Because this is my opinion. This was the cheapest cruise I have ever gone on. The prices were unbelievably low which was surprising since it was during Spring Break week. We had an inside cabin category 2 for $600 pp and a balcony cabin category 8 ...

Our only cruise experiences - Star Cruises (small, friendly but brilliant destinations) & NCL Pride of America in Hawaii (Disappointed). Got bargain deal on cruise in package so went thinking if it is not so good at least we haven`t spent alot of money! My partner & myself thoroughly enjoyed ourselves; would look for Costa again & would recommend particularly to Brits / Europeans for Caribbean ...

Embarkation: very orderly, and quick. Best so far. Cabin: Spacious, beautiful decor and amenities with a wonderful cabin stewardess. Excursions: Grand Turk was by far me and my wife's favorite. The water and the beach are glorious, and Margaritaville is a 2 minute walk from where the ship docks. Entertainment: The dancers were okay, Malambo show was boring, and the acrobat we walked out ...

Embarkation was efficient, Destinations were really good But from there it went south really quick. Starting with the buffet, The first day it was really good, Especially the seafood pasta salad with squid. I thought we were in for a real treat. So after lunch we decided to tour the ship and stumbled onto the main dining room. We decided to enter through the doors to take a peak when we were ...

The Costa Mediterranea was one of the most beautiful ships my family and I have sailed on out of the eleven cruises we have sailed. The ship was also immaculately clean and well maintained. I was extremely pleased to see the efforts made by all staff to shine the mirrors, clean the carpeting and polish the glass. Our Steward, Reggie kept the cabin neat and clean at all times. He also was the first ...

This is our 4th cruise overall (Holland America, Princess and Royal Caribbean), but our 1st on Costa. We chose Costa because of the good reviews for dancing. We had a great time. It seemed like a lot of the other passengers complained about the service and entertainment. It is all in what you expect. Please consider that Costa is a more conservative, low key cruise line and probably lacks a lot ...

Booking: We needed a break, so we booked about 3 weeks in advance. My husband is a veteran of the Navy, so we booked an outside balcony cabin on the back of the ship for $549/piece. Were able to book airfare direct to Fort Lauderdale through Delta at $240/piece, so very affordable getaway! Departure: Flew out of Port Columbus at 9:40am, direct flight to Lauderdale on Delta. Flight took just over ...

We are a couple in our fifties traveling without kids. Cruise was booked 8 days prior to sailing. I had one week off between jobs. Let's see....clean the house or book a last minute cruise..hmm....Internet research led us to the Costa Mediterrannea. Seven prior cruises were all on NCL. We love NCL and freestyle, but after sailing Costa, we now love Costa too. Jetblue non-stop Boston to FLL ...
