Canal is great, cruise is ok

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Coral Princess

The Panama canal was on our bucket list and there are not a lot of cruise lines that offer this cruise. The canal is awesome and such a marvel to see and go through, and the ship was nice, but nothing special. We were very disappointed that during our early morning hours (7am) venture through the canal we were standing at the back of the ship in the Sanctuary to take pictures of the canal and even ...

Disappointing to say the least

This was our 12th cruise with Princess and very disappointing. Why ? well a principle reason for cruising is the dining and can only give the food on the Coral as "poor" it was over salted, over cooked and unappetising. We tried the "Anytime Dining" and as an example probably the best meal was the last - New York Strip only that after the 1st course the waiters disappeared (for the Baked Alaska ...

Fancied doing something different and chose this cruise as we have cruised with Princess a fews times to Mexico at Thanksgiving on the Ruby and Crown. The Coral is an old ship and starting to look a bit tired. We sailed during Xmas and NYE. It was a bit boring on both nights, but that's okay wasn't expecting Times Square but could have been a bit better. We had 2 balcony cabins and 1 ...

A cruise needs to be outstanding, not merely okay. This cruise was okay.

We like cruising, and save for it for quite a while, so we kind of build up this perfect/pampered dream cruise in our mind before hand. This cruise was not perfect, but it sure beats the best day at work.. Without exception the staff was amazing, attentive, helpful, friendly, and really hard working. Highest marks to the staff. The entertainment was also very good, but the shows were ...

Panama Canal and itinerary great, boat just okay

This is as much the opinion of experienced cruisers we were with as ours, this being our first cruise. We loved going through the Panama Canal and the ports. The narration during the passage through the canal was great. There were 2000 passengers on the boat, but for the most part it did not seem that crowded. The food and the entertainment were just OK. The food in the specialty restaurants ...

It was a great cruise. You have to take the good with the bad and not nit pick like so many do. The weather was fantastic, the ports were great. The ship overall was in good shape for her age but needed some touch up. The food was average in the MDR and I am not a foodie. The cruise directors staff was a bit young. There were 10% more then capacity and you never felt like there was a crowd. ...

Panama Cruise November 2017

Great way to see the Panama; the ship, crew, staff, service, entertainment and particularly the evening dinners were outstanding. The exercise equipment, and room was terrible... to crowded, and only 1 working bike and rowing machine. The Pickleball/Volleyball court not great. The court is too small for PB, the net is right behind the back line; and the lines are wrong. They could remedy this ...

Husband had Panama Canal on bucket list, plus we were doing a cruise in the Caribean ,so decided to see if we could find a cruise that took us to LA instead of flying back to La, which we did and hence the Panama Canal was ticked off my husbands bucket list and I got to do another cruise. Ship was lovely, decore was very pleasant, and ship was clean .Found the choice of food very ...

Ship really showing her age

Selected this cruise for the Panama Canal transit itinerary. All our excursions except one were with private tour operators and met our expectations. We had fantastic wait staff in the Bordeaux Dining Room -- Franco(from Mexico) and Jervis(from India). We selected Anytime Dining but unless we made reservations early everyday we would end up eating very late. We also requested to be seated at ...

A pleasant cruise of the Panama Canal

My parents chose this itinerary as a Panama Canal cruise was on my father's "bucket list" (he's in his early 70's). As I normally make all my parents' travel arrangements and the cruise fare offered by Princess last October was exceptional for us Canadians, it was agreed that I would join them. This was the 5th cruise for my mom and I (our 2nd on Princess) and my dad's 4th. We were very ...
