Be careful of the upsells. Everything you do comes with an equally priced upsell. 150$ tooth whitening with a 150$ maintenance kit. 300$ to swim with dolphins and a 340$ photo package. Massage? 260$ in creams offered. Want drinks? $895 for one person unlimited drinks. The staff was phenomenal. The boat is on its last sea legs I reccomend private excursions at half the price. Just get off the ...

We fly yearly from the east coast to San Francisco to visit family and friends so we thought sailing there through the old locks of the Panama Canal and see places we had never been before was a great way to go. The ship had just come out of dry dock but I can tell you no attention was paid to anything other than laying internet lines for future use. The couch in our cabin needed a thorough ...

Great itinerary, disappointing ship.

Chose Princess for the full canal transit. The ship arrived late in Ft. Lauderdale late from drydock in Freeport, with many items not completed. Boarding was hours late. Items such as carpet replacement (including our stateroom) continued during the cruise. Balcony stateroom was fine, with outstanding steward. Ship wide food not memorable, with Horizon Court lunch disappointing. Outstanding ...

Good Holiday Trip

We decided to cruise for the holidays and visit in California. We boarded the ship after a flight to Fort Lauderdale. We got into the airport about 1:30 and after a short cab ride we boarded the ship without a line. We did Alaska on this ship about 5 years ago. We were on the Dolphin deck with a balcony on the starboard side. The rooms and the ship are showing signs of age. We were a little ...

Panama Canal on the Coral Princess, Holiday cruise

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Coral Princess

Cruise was OK for a holiday getaway. Ship (Coral Princess) is showing her age. We are unhappy with the daily "gratuity" charged to each person. The cruise itself wasn't cheap; however, the "gratuity" charges added $400+to our charges. I would pay an additional amount to be included in the overall cruise charge, rather than pay an exorbitant tariff at the end of the cruise. I don't feel I'm ...

The Panama canal was on our bucket list and there are not a lot of cruise lines that offer this cruise. The canal is awesome and such a marvel to see and go through, and the ship was nice, but nothing special. We were very disappointed that during our early morning hours (7am) venture through the canal we were standing at the back of the ship in the Sanctuary to take pictures of the canal and even ...

Disappointing to say the least

This was our 12th cruise with Princess and very disappointing. Why ? well a principle reason for cruising is the dining and can only give the food on the Coral as "poor" it was over salted, over cooked and unappetising. We tried the "Anytime Dining" and as an example probably the best meal was the last - New York Strip only that after the 1st course the waiters disappeared (for the Baked Alaska ...

Fancied doing something different and chose this cruise as we have cruised with Princess a fews times to Mexico at Thanksgiving on the Ruby and Crown. The Coral is an old ship and starting to look a bit tired. We sailed during Xmas and NYE. It was a bit boring on both nights, but that's okay wasn't expecting Times Square but could have been a bit better. We had 2 balcony cabins and 1 ...

A cruise needs to be outstanding, not merely okay. This cruise was okay.

We like cruising, and save for it for quite a while, so we kind of build up this perfect/pampered dream cruise in our mind before hand. This cruise was not perfect, but it sure beats the best day at work.. Without exception the staff was amazing, attentive, helpful, friendly, and really hard working. Highest marks to the staff. The entertainment was also very good, but the shows were ...

Panama Canal and itinerary great, boat just okay

This is as much the opinion of experienced cruisers we were with as ours, this being our first cruise. We loved going through the Panama Canal and the ports. The narration during the passage through the canal was great. There were 2000 passengers on the boat, but for the most part it did not seem that crowded. The food and the entertainment were just OK. The food in the specialty restaurants ...
