We sailed on the 6 day cruise immediately after ship completed a two week dry dock. The last time we sailed on Princess was four years ago to the PanamaCanal.
Boarding was easy since we could not dock until 1pm since the ship was late leaving dry dock. Fortunately our hotel (Roadway FLL) provided transfer and advised late time, adjusted transfer schedule and let us stay at hotel until 1pm. ...
We have had a trip to the Panama Canal on the list for a long time and as we have sailed with Princess on 4 previous trips decided on the coral princess this year.
Travelling from the UK (Glasgow via London) was as expected and arrived at the Hell Hole of Miami Airport which must be among the worst airports in the world for processing visitors. We have been there twice before (never again) and ...
First the good:
We started our trip by staying at Hampton Inn in Ft. Lauderdale the night before. Hotel was full of cruisers, coming and going. They provide a shuttle to the port.
Our minisuite was comfortable and clean. It had a tub and shower. We never take time to use the tub, and wonder how many people actually do. Would prefer another closet in the space it takes.
We enjoyed ...
We are two retired teachers in our early 60's. We choose this cruise as my daughter was able to house sit for us at this time. Otherwise we would have done it a few weeks later.
That being said: The ship itself was very nice. (We have been on several cruises-- lately it is usually on Celebrity and Princess) The crew was very indifferent for the most part- However the staff at Bayou Grille ...
Bucket list cruise to see the Panama Canal. Food was quite good on board.
There were plumbing issues on board. Shower never did get very hot, but managable.
What spoiled our cruise was the enclosed pool area. Management allowed children to run around unsupervised in what used to be a 16 year and older area. One man was throwing his diapered baby around in the pool. We politely complained ...
Princess is our favorite cruise line, and the Coral had some things going for it. The ship is in good shape and very clean, although it "creaks" a lot in some of the staterooms and the stateroom shower is laughably small. The food and service were excellent, both in the MDR and the Lido. The crew was consistently professional and pleasant.
But there are a few areas in which this cruise ...
I wish there was a rating between poor and average. I agree with some of the other reviews I read on this site. The ship definitely needs a facelift, which I understand it soon to take place. Too late for me though. The shower was the bane of my existence. When in the tropics we tend to take at least 2 showers a day. The shower was small to say the least! Then again, so am I! I don't know ...
The Good: The food and the entertainment were all excellent. A nice variety of meals and every venue we dined at was equally good. Even the buffet was excellent. The entertainment was varied and top-notch, including two comedians and two different singers (these were the headliners). The cruise staff also gave two very good performances. The cruise director is to be commended for the good ...
This was a cruise that nearly pleased on many counts and respects, but eventually left us feeling slightly disappointed.
The embarkation process was reasonably efficient, although it took two hours from arrival to actually getting onboard. Luggage was delivered in timely fashion. Our stateroom attendant Jenner was on hand to greet us and provided a pleasant and efficient service ...
This was my first cruise on Princess and from all the good things I have heard about them, I was very disappointed.
The ship is older and needs to be updated. Hallways, twist and turn making it difficult for people with walkers or scooters. We had a mini-suite which was quite nice and ample for 3 of us. Ship was easy to negotiate, making it easy to get around and know where everything was ...
