An excellent overall experience! (including shore excursions)

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Coral Princess

This cruise fit our timeline/desired dates (we chose March) and what we were looking for in a cruise through the Panama Canal. We had read about the size of the ship relative to the number of passengers and it was just right; we never felt crowded or squished. There were plenty of activities and good variety to choose from. There were also spots to just sit and read quietly if desired. The ...

Great time

We had a balcony cabin which was big enough except for the shower, but we lived through that. The ship was recently remodeled in the passageways and I am assuming that various other parts were remodeled also. The cabins had large TV's installed on the walls but other than that not much looked new in them. The ports were great but we were disappointed that we missed San Juan, Nicaragua due to bad ...

Cruising the Panama Canal, ocean to ocean

The entire trip was magical! Cruising the Canal ocean to ocean was the experience of a lifetime. Our cabin was comfortable and the food was very good - lots of choices and well prepared. The staff was personable, no matter what their job function, and they bent over backwards to ensure we had a great trip. The entertainment included outside folks, who were very good, and they were supported by ...

We have cruised with Princess 4 times. This embarkation was quick and easy. We weren’t early and had no queues or waiting. The mini suite was very comfortable- the bed was wonderful! The dining room food and food in general, was better than our cruise experience in the Baltic however the menus in the speciality restaurants didn’t appeal so we passed on trying them. The shore excursions - ...

Be careful of the upsells. Everything you do comes with an equally priced upsell. 150$ tooth whitening with a 150$ maintenance kit. 300$ to swim with dolphins and a 340$ photo package. Massage? 260$ in creams offered. Want drinks? $895 for one person unlimited drinks. The staff was phenomenal. The boat is on its last sea legs I reccomend private excursions at half the price. Just get off the ...

I loved this ship, the crew, the ports and all of the knowledge I learned from the onboard specialist. So informative. Also loved disembarking at my home port! The Coral princess was in excellent condition for as old as she is! Everyone had a fantastic time. I planned this trip one and a half years in advance for my 60th birthday, so worth the wait!! Some cruise ships do not stop in Panama ...

Some technical complications, but service was great.

The dining room and cabin steward were great. The ship just came out of dry dock and there were technical problems with the Movies at Sea on deck, that was a bit disappointing. Many workers came along on the first leg out of dry dock to finish up maintenance, no big deal - just something we noticed. The Panal Canel was everything we hoped for as this was our first time through the ...

Our ship had been in dry dock and arrived later than planned. There are very long lines outside. When we finally got in, after waiting over an hour......we then had to wait in the hall......yes, there were chairs, but not enough.....some people gave up their chairs to people who needed it (not all disabilities are visible) and sat on the concrete floor.....that was not a good beginning! We ...

Cruise the Panama Canal

We chose this cruise to go through the Panama Canal and it ended in San Francisco which is home for us. The ship, Coral Princess, had been in dry dock for 12 days prior to our cruise and the contractors were not finished with the upgrades such as new carpet and flat screen TVs in the rooms. Nice upgrades, but there were rolls of carpet about the ship and painting still being done. Embarkation ...

First cruise after dry dock

This was the first cruise of the Coral Princess after a rehab in dry dock. Carpets have been replaced, flat screens added to all rooms with satellite reception, new paint and improved internet access are among the changes. The ship is small and was built for the Panama Canal. Overall the cruise gets high marks. My husband and I are in our early 60's and were among the youngest people on the ...
