My wife and I sailed on the Summit on 3/5/04 for 10 days to the Southern Caribbean. This was our second cruise on Celebrity (after a relatively poor experience a few years ago) and our sixth cruise overall. This was a great cruise on a beautiful ship with a wonderful crew. I apologize for the length of this review, but I've tried to use headings to let each reader find the subjects he or she is ...
We have sailed on Summit before, doing the 10 day last year. We are Celebrity fans, and this ship is 'IOPO' the best!! Our boarding was very smooth, champagne was handed out when boarding, a really nice touch, and then we were able to unload our travel bags in our cabin before going for lunch. Our luggage arrived by 3pm, and we unpacked and got ready for the wonderful time we knew we would have. ...
My wife and I just got back from the 10 day Summit Southern Caribbean cruise and it was great! I read just about every review I could find about the ship before we left so I figured when we got back I would put my two cents worth in. I will try to be as informative as possible.
And so it begins....
We live in Charleston,SC so we decided to drive down to Fort Lauderdale the day before. I read ...
This was my second cruise on major ocean liner overcall (Carnival Conquest in Dec. 2002).
EMBARKATION: We arrived at the port at about 10:20am with two other couples staying in the same hotel. Apparently, we were too early, as people from last ship still dominated the luggage pick up/drop off area. At 11:10am, the boarding process started for Captain's Club members and guests with suite. We were ...
This was my second cruise on major ocean liner overcall (Carnival Conquest in Dec. 2002) and I would like to share my full review (long) with you.
EMBARKATION: We arrived at the port at about 10:20am with two other couples also staying at La Quinta Inn. Apparently, we were too early, as people from last ship still dominated the luggage pick up/drop off area. At 11:10am, they began the boarding ...
This was our first cruise with Celebrity, our only previous experience being with Royal Caribbean and river cruises in Europe. Overall we have had the best time on this cruise and rate it excellent overall. Celebrity Connections: We joined this group and it really enhanced our planning for the cruise and built up a sense of excitement. There were around 50 of us. Some of us met pre-cruise at the ...
I have been cruise-wary for a long time due to extreme seasickness fears, but after 10 days on the Summit, armed with the patch and dramamine, I can safely say - overcome your fears and go on this ship! I had no how heavenly a vacation could be. When I got on the ship and felt the slight rocking, I popped on the patch immediately and despite rough seas the first two days, I never got sick. It was ...
This was our 2nd Summit sailing, and it was just as wonderful as the first. Embarkation was painless with no wait. We arrived about Noon and were welcomed with champagne, we were not shown our rooms which was a first for us, but that was fine since we had been on Summit before and knew the layout.
After much thought we had booked a Celebrity Suite, which has no veranda but has floor to ceiling ...
Celebrity Cruises has once again surpassed our expectations and provided us with another valued memorable vacation experience. Firstly Fort Lauderdale's Port Everglades is a pleasant port to embark from. Clean, organized and easy to navigate. We arrived early, were immediately received and guided across the gang plank with awaiting sincere smiles and cool Mimosa's. We were instantly impressed with ...
