Some Good But A lot of Bad

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Celebrity Edge

The Good. Our stateroom is magnificent (Aqua Class). The theatre is outstanding. The food and service in the restaurants is up to Celebrity’s usual standard. The entertainment is very good. The Bad and the Downright Ugly. The pool area and deck space are OVERCROWDED with sunbeds jammed together in rows. The public spaces are OVERCROWDED with people racing to grab seats ...

Luminae Restaurant is not as good as it was on several other Celebrity ships. Public bathrooms are neglected, very few bar waiters or waitresses especially t the Martini bar and the Retreat pool area. The price is very high but you get little value. The suite room are lovely and there is plenty of storage space and a 2part bathroom, it was one of the better ship features. Food in specialty ...

As Elite status we’ve obviously taken Celebrity a lot. Arrive to check in - concierge suite, elite status- suppose to have separate check in . I ask and was scoffed at by person with Celebrity ID tag “No special check in - just get in line” no smiles Tried to change dining time “ I can’t do that “ we were told I don’t know how many times we heard “can’t do that “ Breakfast service ...

AMAZING CRUISE (NOT IN A GOOD WAY!)

My wife and I have cruised many times, 17 on Princess, 2 on Carnival, 1 on Commodore, 1 on Norwegian, 1 on Royal Caribbean, 1 on Viking, and this cruise on Celebrity, so we are fairly experienced cruisers. We have had all accommodations from Inside Cabins to Owner’s Suites, and cruise durations from five to 16 days. Our friends had cruised many times with Celebrity and Royal Caribbean, and we ...

A Disappointment

Platinum cruiser with RCCL. Wanted to try something new and was confident going "upscale" to Celebrity would be a safe choice. IT WAS NOT! The ship is new and high tech. Embarkation and disembarkation was excellent. That is the best I can say about my cruise. The MDR food was very disappointing. Nothing wowed me at all. The buffet was also bland and boring. It continues with ...

The world’s most boring cruise ship

Traveling in a party of six adults, mid 50s to mid 60s. Have taken about 15 cruises over past 5 years with this group. Have really enjoyed Celebrity Solstice class ships so decided to try this new Celebrity ship. The best part: The new main dining on Edge is the best ever experienced. Divided into 4 smaller restaurants you can rotate between. Has the feel of specialty restaurants at no ...

The overadvertised new ship without a soul

I would never recommend anyone to travel at edge at the royal suite (12102) if You had a previous experience at other celebrity ships. The problem of noise and knocks in the cabin at night was not solved because of a terrible quality of the construction. Moreover, above the cabin there is a SPA area with a lot of movments even at night and as a result I did not sleep 5!!! last nights. 2 first ...

Backgorund: I apologize in advance for the overly detailed review. At the cruise critic event on board, the Captain requested that we be specific on issue we found with the ship. Also, we are loyal Royal/Celebrity cruisers with over 30 Cruises and we just want to insure other cruisers are informed before selecting the Edge. Embarkation: Very quick and easy. You could drop bags in the ...

We booked back to back 7 day cruises to experience the new ship. The smaller restaurants were very nice. Specialty restaurant with steak was open to loud music and had very rude wait staff. Food was no better than the good food in regular restaurants. Upper level area was nice but no shade. No one was there until it was dark. Lots of dead ends on the ship. Obviously designed that way but ...

This ship might be right for you but not even close for us. Well, where do I start? The positives are a short list. So let’s start there. The ship is beautiful, IF you like that type of ambiance. Glass, glass, glass not 100% clean, lots of steel and marble looking flooring. The crew is the most wonderful crew I have ever been with. 70 cruises and they were the nicest and most helpful they could ...
