Extremely disappointing - nice ship but everything else left much to be desired

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Celebrity Edge

The Edge is a beautiful ship but I find the 11 night ABC island cruise to be very disappointing for a number of reasons: first, the food in the Oceanview Cafe was substandard, there was not alot of choice and the menus for breakfast and lunch remained the same for all 12 days. Further, not once were there cuts of roast beef set out for lunch. The 4 "free" restaurants are quite frankly, a ...

I’ve just read Cruise Critic’s review of Celebrity Beyond. Clearly I haven’t sailed on Beyond butI have sailed on Edge. If you are a loyal Celebrity customer and have never sailed on the Edge class you could be very disappointed if you did so. The deck space is VERY CROWDED on sea days with a dozen or more su beds often jammed together in a single row. This overcrowding is possibly caused by ...

In a word-- Awful

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Celebrity Edge

We have been on over a dozen cruises. In the past 10 years all our cruises have been with Celebrity and Royal Caribbean. It seems with this new EDGE ship, celebrity expended all its energy into the innovation and overlooked the experience, ambiance, sophistication, and class. I really don't know where to begin and how to fix all that is wrong with the experience that they offer. The word dull ...

I took this cruise because I bought the hype and video while on another Celebrity cruise. This was going to be a whole new way to cruise. A new angle on the cruising experience. The Magic Carpet, Infinite Verand, computer design, state of the art. Wow. What I found is that the ship is an Ikea budget design with delusions of grandeur. Upscale pricey shops, ridiculously overpriced dining venues, And ...

The good, the bad and the ugly

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Celebrity Edge

We booked this cruise because we believed all the hype and wanted to sail on a new ship. THE GOOD: Getting aboard the ship was the easiest and best experience. No waiting in lines, our express pass was scanned and we proceeded to the gangway. Went immediately to our cabin and dropped off our luggage. The cabin, an E2, was large and had plenty of storage. We like the 4 complimentary ...

We were on another Celebrity Cruise in December 2018 and loved it.. we booked a Stateroom with Balcony. There was no Balcony. They got us for a Photo Shoot, cost us $ 5 79.00 US. Payed for picture on the Ship $ 140 .which we never received. Finally after almost 4 Month, we got our Money back. We would never go on a Celebrity Ship again. We also tell all our Friends to do the same. It was ...

The AFT of this ship vibrates at 19-20 knots.

We couldn't sleep the first 5 nights because the back of the ship vibrates. We were in cabin 9304. DON"T book this cabin. The guest relations would not move us until there were only 2 days left on the cruise. The food was mostly very good. We didn't care for La Petite Chef, it was a cheesy cartoon. We couldn't wait for the meal to be over. The ports we stopped at still had a lot of ...

HORRIBLE odor - HORRIBLE customer service

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Celebrity Edge

User Avatar

We were in 11224 and 11226. We fought with ship staff all week about a raw sewage odor. In the end, they tell us all that was noted in the ships log was a "wet bathing suit" odor. They NEVER said that to us on board. They smelled the horrible odor. Now they are just calling me a liar. This was our 8th cruise with Celebrity and to say I am disappointed with their handling is an ...

We sailed with another couple all in our early 50s ,we are Elite and Diamond Plus members . Celebrity Cruise Line is our absolute favorite line. Pros: 1)Check in was speedy quick and we were able to drop bags off in our cabins immediately. 2) Staff was excellent across the board. 3) Food was always good at every venue. CONS: 1) Infinite Balcony is an Oceanview cabin - nothing more! ...

Celebrity EDGE - of death!

I was more than excited at the prospect of cruising in this new ship though have little by way of pleasant memories. Yes the ship is sophisticated however it lacks ambience. The food was excellent though we gave the speciality restaurants a wide bearth owing to the fact they were grossly overpriced. The shows were terrible though a few of the guest performers made some evening entertainment ...
